Todd Bowles Compares Tom Brady And Rob Gronkowski To Jason Voorhees And Michael Myers

Todd Bowles

It seems Todd Bowles enjoys a good horror show, and Joe’s not talking about the 2014 Buccaneers or a Roberto Aguayo highlight reel.

Bowles joined CBS Sports HQ at Bucs training camp this week, where analyst Prickly Pete Prisco asked Bowles if he was surprised that Tom Brady unretired.

Bowels coached the Jets and experienced Jameis Winston throwing 30 interceptions in a season, so of course a Brady unretirement didn’t faze him.

“Nothing surprises you in this league. Tom and Gronk are like Jason Voorhees and Michael Myers. You kill’em, and you never know if they’re dead,” Bowles said, referencing the iconic mass murderers of the Friday The 13th and Halloween movies.

It was a great one-liner by Bowles, and it invites more speculation about the Tampa Bay future of Rob Gronkowski, which general manager Jason Licht addressed on Thursday.

Regarding surprises, Bowles just got one with what appears to be a major knee injury to starting center Ryan Jensen. Joe wonders whether Bowles, Licht and Brady will be on the same page as it relates to their next move at center. It’s their first critical crossroads together.

And yes, Joe included Brady in that mix. If you don’t think he has a hand in choosing the center, then, well, Joe can’t help you.

Lmao. That is awesome. I love listening to Bowles. He’s straight forward and that is hilariously description for Buc horror buffs.

  2. David Says:

I hope Hainsey is ready! Hopefully he’ll be needed for less than half the season. Good thing about this happening now, depending on what it is, Jensen could be back for the final month of the season heading towards the playoffs

  3. SB Says:

Interesting comparison. Who is Ryan Jensen? Chucky? We will miss Chucky as long as he is out.

  4. sasquatch Says:

No, it doesn’t invite speculation about the “future” of Gronk. Joe doesn’t need an invitation but seeks any excuse to beat the living sh!t out of a dead horse with maggots circling.

    “I’m done with football.” –Gronk

    THE END

Gronk will be back ..mark my words

  6. sasquatch Says:

When a guy says he’s retired, I believe him. And then if he changes his mind later, that’s when I believe he’s returning. Any speculation in between is phlerking retarded.

  7. adam from ny Says:

the potential loss of jensen is just horrific…

    said jason & michael…

the centerpiece and tone setter up front being gone is serious af

  8. adam from ny Says:

    ali…you retired as a left guard…

now come back as a center…

you can stay retired as a left guard, it’s okay…we understand 😉

  9. WillieG Says:

I think the center decision needs to be damn near 100% Brady.

  10. Goatfarmer Says:

How is there enough contact in underwear football to cause Jensen to shred his knee? Apparently the new head coach should revisit his practice methods before the trenches on both sides of the ball are decimated.

  11. mark2001 Says:

Adam… Ali is about 250 now. You think he can play center at that weight?

  12. SOEbuc Says:

If it is on Brady to make the final decision (not that I don’t rule out Licht on any of all these great moves) it will be within the next seven days.

  13. Buczilla Says:

Licht is simply the best when it comes to picking up offensive linemen and I’d be surprised if Hainsey couldn’t do a good job. I’m cool with giving up picks for an excellent one too since it’s all or nothing this year.

  14. Goatfarmer Says:

Glad Todd is making jokes. Maybe he should focus on how to run a non-contact practice that doesn’t cause injury from his best players getting hit. Unbelievable.

  15. John Says:

    Don’t forget about Edelman either!!
