“I Don’t See Him Anywhere Else But Tampa”

April 2nd, 2022

Waiting.

When Tom Brady announced he would return as the Bucs quarterback, an intimate of his, former NFL suit Michael Lombardi, had said upon Brady’s return that it was “Tampa or nobody.”

That seems to be the case with foot-rubbing tight end Rob Gronkowski. In a CBS Sports report, heavy metal headbanging insider Jason La Canfora of CBS said last night that Gronk is Bucs or bust.

“I don’t see him anywhere else but Tampa,” La Canfora said.

That is, La Canfora added, if Gronk plays.

Gronk has flirted with his hometown Bills (Joe doesn’t think Camille would like that so much) and has said he’d like to play with Joe Burrow and the Bengals. But all signs point to the Bucs.

La Canfora had an interesting angle. By being patient, Gronk gets out of OTAs. So just because the Bucs announced the dates for the offseason schedule yesterday doesn’t mean Gronk is going to barrel up I-75 (he was visiting his mother in Fort Myers yesterday per his Instagram stories account) just to sign a contract.

You can see La Canfora’s full report on Gronk in the CBS Sports video below.

    Oh No there goes Tokyo
    Here comes Gronkzilla

  2. NCBucfan Says:

You mean you don’t think he will go play for the Texans or Jets? Of course he is coming back to us. My guess is he signs 2-3 days before the draft.

  3. Casual Observer Says:

Get him signed! Cut the drama. Need him – the last piece of the O.

  4. Allbuccedup Says:

Start talking to other free agent tight ends and it will start him moving.

  5. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Gronk could go to Miami or SF and then try to talk Brady into joining him…..

  6. Allbuccedup Says:

Offer Ebron or Rudolph 2 mil plus incentives I mean you need at least 3 tight ends.

  7. BUCman Says:

LaCanfora stating the obvious and acting like he has great insight 😂

  8. Bucs Guy Says:

Bucs are re-signing Gronk and drafting a TE. Probably in the 3rd or 4th round. Need to replace OJ. Gronk only plays 1-2 years and Brate another 2 years as his production is decreasing. Expect them to draft another TE in 2023 or 2024.

Once he signs with tampa , we are going to have a stacked deck on offense. Lt D.SMITH -LTG ? C R.JENSEN- RTG S.MASON – RTT ALL PRO T.WHIRFS-WR M.EVANS – WR R.GAGE- WR C.GODWIN-TE R.GRONK – RB L.FOURNETTE- QB T.BRADY THE ACE UP THE SLEEVE . if the other side of the ball makes the plays they need to make when it counts then we should be in good shape for another run at it . I’ve been a bucs fan all my life , there have been alot of downs and a few ups , starting this decade with a superbowl was awesome and it’s a great time to be bucs fans ! Brady is going to keep us in all games and win a few for us too but I need to see our corners and safties not get beat all the time . Good solid consistent play will do .

Gronk ain’t going nowhere. I like the Ebron take. Bucs need to start thinking like the Rams, win now while you have Brady and rebuild once he leaves. Get the D tightened up. Sign Honey Badger and move Ryan to corner, the DB problems would be fixed. Sign Suh & tryout JPP to see if he can still play. I was never a fan of Nunez & Mclendon duo, they are weak on both fronts.

  11. ModHairKen Says:

He does not needs OTAs. He does not need 2 a days. He does not need more than a week or two to get timing back. And he can do that when he’s ready.

Has anyone discussed building a second ring around the stadium for ROH? Brady. Gronk. Suh. JPP. D Smith. Jensen. Fournette. L. David. Evans. Godwin. Arians.

  12. Hodad Says:

Regardless if he comes back, or not, the Bucs will be drafting a TE somewhere in this draft. I’m sure they’ll be an UDFA, and a cheat vet FA too.

  13. Hodad Says:

    Cheap.

  14. Beeej Says:

I hope McBride is there when we pick on day 2

  15. Mike28277 Says:

HC Grover: nice Blue Oyster Cult reference……

  16. 1#bucsfan Says:

I think some of your are right about drafting a TE. do we still have T.hudson. He looked decent even tho it was against future bar managers n truck drivers but we need more than just Brate n gronk. Gronk missed several games last year n Brate really didn’t produce when that happened. Love Brate but he’s lost a step. Don’t think we have the money to get a Ebron or rudolf so drafting one seems like the right thing to do but I just hope who ever we get can produce if gronk or Brate needs a breather or worse are injured

  17. SOEbuc Says:

Is it possible to go through one Bucs blog without the Dolphins or SF? Did anyone see any demands for a trade? Tom said Bucs are where he wants to be when he came back.

The Brady’s buy a big and he makes a Twitter that him and his two kids are faster than Cancer Hill and Waddle.

    Super Bowl LVII LFG!!!

  18. Steven Says:

You need to sign PPP (Jason pierre-paul Go bucs

  19. stpetebucsfan Says:

Do we honestly believe that Gronk is not tight not just with Brady but Licht as well?

I think this is just business between friends. The Bucs want him back…Gronk wants to come back…but will the marketplace allow this to happen?

Gronk can wait as long as he wishes. I’m sure Licht/TB have a pretty solid idea of his intentions if not absolute knowledge.

  20. HC Grover Says:

He knows how to get ‘thrown open’ by Brady. This is the thing new Brady receivers must learn. Brady is the master of throwing a receiver open even if covered.

  21. Hondo Says:

I hardly think Brady did consider his returning without Gronk replying yeah let’s do it. Bucs likely waiting till smoke cap space becomes clearer to figure out what to offer Gronk.

  22. Beeej Says:

(Tanner Hudson was cut last year, good catch but no block)

We have…1(?) tight end on the roster right now? If Gronk does play again, both our tight ends will be on the wrong side of 30
