Well, the Bucs got the lead guitarist back. Can the rest of the band return?
Joe is confident the Bucs are going to lose free agents over the next few days. Legal tampering begins tomorrow and the free agency dinner bell rings on Wednesday.
The Bucs have a bunch of top-shelf free agents. First is tight end Rob Gronkowski. This evening reacting to the breaking news that Tom Brady will return to the Bucs, former Belicheats general manager Scott Pioli said on NFL Network it is a virtual certainty Gronk will return to the Bucs.
Then there is Ryan Jensen. The Pro Bowl center is expected to hit free agency. But earlier today, Joe read a note from Jeremy Fowler of BSPN typing that the Bucs were still negotiating with Jensen to return. Does Brady coming back lure Jensen back to the Bucs?
Scuttlebutt at the combine from what Joe heard was that the only way Ali Marpet was going to play in 2022 is if Brady returned. Maybe. Now that Brady is back, does Marpet change his mind about retirement?
Joe is very hungover typing this from his Aria Resort and Casino hotel room. But Joe’s mind is racing 100 mph now.

Unfortunately, this team is going nowhere without a better defense.
We’d have to find a way to upgrade TWO corners. Let Davis go sign with another team, he’s highly overrated. SMB and Dean just aren’t consistently good enough. If they start, we aren’t making a deep playoff run. It’s just that simple.
We also have to find a way to improve the Pass Rush. Any game where the pass rush is getting stuffed, our D gets CRUSHED. Our secondary isn’t good enough to create “coverage sacks.”

Mike Evans, Shaq, D. Smith, C. Godwin, C. Brate – will be restructured.
Succop and Pinion may be cut or restructured.
That should clear enough space to bring the band back together.

Whatever the reason I am super grateful to have the GOAT back. IDK about AB. That’s a deep stretch but Jensen perhaps. Gronk perhaps. Marpet talked out of retirement? All unknowns right now but I’ll tell you what is known. That sound is known. The sound you just heard of shattered glass was empty Crown bottle number 1 from Mike Florio being slammed in disgust. I’d like to see a surprise weapon like Larry on a cheap deal. Chris has to get a long term deal done. And it would be nice to keep Lenny he had a lot of chemistry with Tom he trusted him.

No.. last year proved it doesn’t work to bring everyone back. And not really possible anyway. We got some guys that are legit overrated. Let them go and let someone else overpay. We need to get younger and faster at some key areas. And the draft picks this year will be very critical.
Also, elevate Trask to backup. He’s likely the QB in 2023. He needs to use this year to get ready.

Hi I’ve been a bucs fan since 1979. We had many tough years. My message to Tom is I never liked him in New England but always respected his ultimate abilities. That can never be compromised. You went from a less favorite to my favorite. I give you all the credit for making this team the contender they have become. I know with out your all out leadership none of the things that have transpired would have been a reality. You are the best player I’ve seen in my fifty years of watching football.
