These past two months I’ve realized my place is still on the field and not in the stands. That time will come. But it’s not now. I love my teammates, and I love my supportive family. You redo everyone’s deals – totally sell out the future for one more year. I have zero issues with that. Still not going to be easy, but void years and restructures will get you a lot of cap space. Also sign Godwin to a long term deal to bring down his hit this year to nearly nothing. This explains the lack of activity up to this point. Amazing!

Once those guys start going elsewhere, and the best of the rest consider the Bucs “retooling”, it is really tough to sell these guys that the Bucs will be SB competitive. It is an easy sell tonight, but for the financial issues.

I’d bet there wasn’t a person in Tampa Bay who saw this coming, and especially me. Figured there was a 50-50 chance he might play again in 2022, but for someone else. Another year with the Bucs? No way.
When the Bucs ate his full salary a couple weeks ago in the salary CAP, it didn’t make any sense. If he was retired, why would they do that? Now it makes perfect sense.
And Marine Buc, like you said, now we can kick the can down the road again. And as far as necessary to be a real SB contender. TB12’s got unfinished business. Let’s see if all the old bones on the Bucs have one more year of kick-ass football in them. Now’s not the time to go heavy on rebuilding.

I knew he’d come back. There was never any doubt in my mind. If AB hadn’t gone completely insane this year and we hadn’t got inundated with all those O line injuries against the Rams, the Bucs would have won another SB. TB12 knows that and wants to go out on a high note, with another SB win. And honestly, that’s exactly what he should do. Retire with an 8th SB win!!
