The Closers

Team Glazer

Team Glazer got the job done.

Whatever was in that brown bag they gave Tom Brady is just fine with Joe.

Yeah, Joe is being facetious, but it can’t be glossed over how ownership played their management of Tom Brady perfectly over the past two years and set the table for Brady feeling great about working with Bucs ownership — and subsequently feeling great about his unretirement and return to Tampa announced earlier today.

Team Glazer closed the deal.

Joe never bought into the peddled notion that Brady didn’t like Bucco Bruce Arians and had a problem working with him. Did they ever clash? Sure. But the idea that Brady wanted out never made a lick of sense. Sage of Tampa Bay Sports Ira Kaufman routinely called it hogwash. But for whatever reason, Brady wanted to keep the drama alive.

Perhaps he was testing the Bucs and the marketplace at the same time. Team Glazer passed the test.

Like Joe wrote earlier, perhaps Team Glazer will be working with Brady’s TB12 company overseas in wink-wink deal, or perhaps the Bucs themselves will take on the TB12 method in a more formal training capacity at One Buc Palace. As Joe shared this morning, it was sort of going on already.

This is just a nod to the big guys. In simple terms, they didn’t “F” it up.

Welcome back, Tommy!

    Yucs2Bucs….LFG…..LFG!

  20. Dewey Selmon Says:

Maybe Brady has a plan to go to the 49ers next year as a FA and didn’t want to see them give up drafts picks to play for them this year. So he plays out his contract. Ill take it.

  21. bucschamp Says:

it’s a business opportunity he cannot pass up. tb12 in Europe endorsed by his buddies beckham, ronaldo, etc. and tom . American Football market is so small compared to soccer.

  22. steele Says:

It’s still very possible that there was tension between Brady and BA, and problems in the locker room, and that is part of the work that needs to be done.

All of it contributed in large and small part to the team losing to the Rams. That disgusting loss should lay the foundation for major payback. The mental lapses, inattention, bad plays, blown assignments, timing, general mindset, the Antonio Brown disaster that split the locker room and left a general bad taste at the worst time. All of it needs to be addressed honestly and solved.

  23. steele Says:

You guys are still shoving Brady at the 49ers? Please, just check the San Francisco sports guys with the inside covering the Niners. It’s Trey Lance’s team all the way, period, offense totally tailored to Lance. And Nate Sudfeld is the backup. Next year, unless Lance turns into Josh Rosen or Ryan Leaf, it will be even more his team, and Brady would be even less welcome.

  24. Hail2dabucs Says:

I remember on this site alone people bashing the owners . It never made sense to me because they have been great ! I herd all the well after the dad died crap the idiot sons can’t do squat . I herd how they don’t spend money and blah blah blah . They have been awesome for this team and remember how the culverhouses ran this team ! The GM has been stellar as well and I have no complaints other than we have never drafted a franchise superbowl winning 10 plus year career QB . BUT I TELL YA , over the years they have found ways to get back to winning ! Go bucs always !

  25. Defense Rules Says:

Gbobucsfan … ‘When do we bring AB back ??’

That may not be as far-fetched as it appears on the surface. Especially considering that Godwin may not be ready to go until the season’s close to half over.

  26. steele Says:

Your beautiful fiancee, the love of your life, tells you she wants to leave, in order to find herself. She tells you not to wait, and she’s out the door.

Months later, after bouts of depression and sad, frenetic dating, and during a dinner date that you are not enjoying (trying to convince yourself that “she’s not too bad, I’ll get used to it”), the front door flies open.

    The fiancee is back.

  27. SunkenGardenz Says:

Very thankful for the Glazer family and the organization they have built!

  28. Miller5252 Says:

Hey Joe, now that Brady is back at home where he belongs, what does that say about all the so called experts that said Brady left because there were issues in house that caused him to retire….. wonder if that’ll be brought up

  29. Joe Says:

Hey Joe, now that Brady is back at home where he belongs, what does that say about all the so called experts that said Brady left because there were issues in house that caused him to retire….. wonder if that’ll be brought up

They either got played or Team Glazer made Brady an offer he can’t refuse.

  30. David Says:

    JOE- Allow me…..

To all those who constantly said Brady walked because, according to them-
BA and BL are horrible coaches & he couldn’t stand being here anymore
OR because he’s a drama diva and he couldn’t stand Belichick at the end and now Arians
OR he doesn’t like Evans and was upset how they handled Antonio Brown…

Just stop. Stop with the speculative ignorant nonsense when you have no clue.

Those handful of psuedo fans who sit on a couch and claim they know best and say BA is a horrible coach and BL doesn’t know what he’s doing and Bowles should be fired… Just stop making fools of yourselves.
When every player and coach says otherwise about them why would we think your sorry azzssz knows better?

Now get your bud and a bag of chips, sit on the couch, and enjoy another division title and Super Bowl run and, for gods sake! stop whining!

  31. David Says:

Ha!! Miller 5252 beat me to it and much more succinctly

  32. YucstoBucs Says:

@HCGrover and others LFG !!! let’s stop playing GM and Agents because who wants to live in San Fran and pay 60 or more in taxes, but most importantly worry about their safety ? Please real fans and trolls just be excited for another winning season !!! Lastly hopefully the D learned no plays off after giving LA that ring.. LFG

  33. ItzOK Says:

as im tired and about to hit the hay, now im f*cking wide awake

Winston Watson Fitzmagic, minshew can all go ruin some other place

  34. Steven M. Says:

    Thank you team Glazer !!!
    Also Soggy is right.
” Hopefully next time they double cover Kupp !
    GO BUCS!

  35. Steven M. Says:

    Thank you Glazers !!!!
Calling Gronk, Marpet, Von Miller and Gilmore.
    Now that’s a super team.
    Go BUC’s !

  36. LakelandSteve Says:

Love the Glazers they put their money where their mouth is. Now Team Glazer, Licht and Arians have to move heaven and earth to put a team on the field that can and will win the Super Bowl. Kick as many contracts down the road as you have to so you can get the players we need. On a side note.

Put on the Red Panties baby, the GOAT is back and I am on my way home, time to celebrate!

  37. unbelievable Says:

    Gotta agree.

I saw earlier than he was at the Man U game and I thought, hmmm, that seems very interesting considering he was with the team / and most likely, ownership at some point.

Actually the only reason I came to JBF today was to see if there was a story about that… came back later and BOOM! Tom Brady is back baby!

  38. Rod Munch Says:

For years all I heard in the dumb comment section here was that the Glazers were cheap, and for years, I asked, who is it that they should be spending their money on? The dopes never had an answer.

The only morons that think the Glazers are bad owners are the bandwagon riders who never had to suffer to through the Culverhouse years.

  39. Drunkinybor Says:

Can everyone see why I hate Mike Florio. He said over and over Brady only wanted to play with the 49ers. Florio is a Bucs hater through and through and through. He’s a smart apple condescending know it all that will never admit he’s wrong. simms is too good for him leave that blowhard fake football knowledge jack lick who is super loyal to the big market teams. Double FF”s to Mike

  40. August 1976 Buc Says:

Rod.. at least you were spared the 70’s and early 80’s portion of the Culverhouse years lolol
79,81-82 were decent, but Culverhouse was always more about how it benefitted his pocket, and not the product on the field. It was just stupid not to give Doug Williams the contract he wanted. It totally destroyed the team for years to come. It was the beginning of the first “Lost decade”

    GO BUCS!!!

  41. THOMAS PFALZ Says:

These so called experts are always letting their alligator moths overload there tadpole asses.
