Outside Of Tom Brady, The NFC South Is About To Be A Trash Dump Of Quarterbacks

March 21st, 2022

“Matt Ryan got traded?”

UPDATED 5:01 p.m. – Big news out of the NFC South this afternoon and no, it isn’t the whereabouts of Playoff Lenny.

Dixie Chicks long-time quarterback Matty Ice has been dealt to the Indianapolis Colts for a third-round draft pick.

This all started when Atlanta played footsie with now-Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson. It was going to be hard to bring Matty Ice back by being so open and public with their lust for a new quarterback.

Unlike crybaby Baker Mayfield who whined on social media, Matty Ice kept to himself and didn’t say a peep.

Outside of Bucs quarterback Tom Brady, the quarterbacks of the NFC South are all USFL-level quarterbacks, just based on who the NFC South teams currently have on their rosters.

First, the slimy Saints have garbage Taysom Hill and injured Jameis Winston, who just re-signed. Hill is basically a wing-T quarterback and a special teams meathead. Joe is fully convinced Ryan Griffin is a better quarterback.

The Stinking Panthers? They’ve got bust Sam Darnold. He may be the best signal-caller in the NFC South outside of Brady. Yeah, it’s that bad.

And Marcus Mariota was signed to replace Matty Ice in Atlanta, a two-year deal. He’ll compete with world-famous backup Feleipe Franks.

Folks, can you say “sweeping the NFC South?”

    Winston, Darnold, Brady, Draft pick

  2. Lord Cornelius Says:

    Haha LFG

  3. Keith Says:

Bye bye Matt Ryan! Shipped off to the Colts

  4. New England Patriots Fan Says:

Angry Matt Ryan on Colts 2022 is a deep playoff team in their division.

  5. SB~LV Says:

Ryan is going going to be the Matt Stafford of 2022
Say…. Have not seen Jameis’s name much, I thought with the title of the story maybe it was going to include him.
Fast track into obscurity and NFL trivia

  6. Tampabaybucfan Says:

There are still some FA moves that can be made….& possible trades…..Jimmy G., Mayfield…..and what about America’s Quarterback, Pro Bowler…..Jameis Winston?

  7. Bucfan Says:

Matt Ryan is probably excited to be gone.

  8. #8 Says:

Winning the NFC South isn’t the goal.
Hope to see some more Bucs news on strengthening the roster.

  9. sasquatch Says:

Can we stop calling him Matty Ice? I mean, it kinda sounds like you wanna massage his bawlz.

  10. New England Patriots Fan Says:

New team new deal, Matt Ryan earned nearly as much as Tom Brady that is why he was quiet when Blank begged Watson to play, as he knew a new team meant a new deal.

Mayfield has made like 20m in 4 seasons and was hurt. He went from 100m guaranteed Fall 2021 to a 5th rounder and maybe a pay cut 1 year show me deal or back up.

His shoulder injury and playing on it and looking bad on tape cost him 100m

  11. Pewter941 Says:

40.525 mil in dead cap space for Matt Ryan this year.

  12. New England Patriots Fan Says:

Traded for third rounder. Ryan’s contract is a well know millstone for the Falcons but they renegotiated it from more than $48 million to $36 million. However, only $23.5 million transfers to the Colts and it would be $28 million in 2023. Not cheap but reasonable in the current quarterback market.

  13. DenOfDepression Says:

Reminds me of the AFC East when Brady was with New England

  14. ElioT Says:

I’ll bet Matt Ryan is excited to get the hell outta ATL – that franchise is always missing something and they can never put it all together. Good luck him in Indy.

  15. Dooley Says:

NFCSouth is looking more and more like the NFC/AFC EAST!

  16. Joe Says:

Reminds me of the AFC East when Brady was with New England

    Yes!

  17. Tampabaybucfan Says:

My Cocker Spaniel told me his buddies are saying Michael Vick is coming out of retirement to play for the Falcons again……

  18. New England Patriots Fan Says:

It’s like a AFC Miami always had Brady’s number like Saints and Jet and Buffalo are Atlanta and Carolina

  19. Ivan Aviles Says:

Would be a great kick in the nads to Saints fans if ATL swoops in and signs JW.

  20. Marine Buc Says:

Matt Ryan might be traded – there are still a few high quality teams who do not have QBs. SF, Indy and Pitt are all possible locations.

Atlanta should except reality – it’s time to rebuild – unloading Matt Ryan’s contract and getting a few picks would be a good start.

Carolina is a mess. Who is their QB? They lost out on Watson. Their coach is on the hot seat.

The Saints will still be a solid team. The only problem I see is at QB. They just restructured @ $100M dollars worth of cap can and kicked it down the road. Winston is the obvious and cheapest choice but he is coming off a nasty knee injury that required surgery. Teddy B? Baker? Jimmy G?

I believe the Saints are going to make a move for one of the last decent QBs because the Saints have a solid team still and their window is closing…

  21. DBS Says:

Last story I saw yesterday was the experiment with Hill is over. You mean nobody wants Gabbert as a starter? I don’t understand. BA did such a powerful sales job on this guy.

  22. StAugBuc Says:

    Falcons expected to pursue Mariota

    Bwahahahahahahaha!

  23. AKicknTheBucNuts Says:

    Maybe Mayfield to birds.

  24. WalkdaPlank Says:

Far from the final rosters of those teams, with a handful of QB’s still available via FA or trade. But so far so good for the Bucs this offseason!

  25. BucsFanSince1976 Says:

Until Bucs actually win a regular season game against the Saints , please stop with the sweep NFC South.

  26. Joe Says:

    Falcons expected to pursue Mariota

    ROTFLMAO!!!!

  27. Marine Buc Says:

Wow – Matty Ice to Indy for a third round pick…

    Nice!

  28. SlyPirate Says:

    Questions:
    1. Are the Panthers, Falcons, Saints drafting QBs? This is the wrong draft for that.
    2. Where does Winston land? Seahawks, Falcons, Saints, Texans all need a QB.

  30. Hodad Says:

Jameis was drafted by Lovie, they need a QB..just saying.

  31. WVBuc Says:

Until proven otherwise, the Saints appear capable of beating our Bucs with Joe at QB.

  32. HC Grover Says:

    Woe is them.

  33. Pewter Power Says:

First, the slimy Saints have garbage Taysom Hill. He’s basically a wing-T quarterback who is a special teams meathead.

Taysom hill is undefeated against Bucco Bruce and the Bucs and Winston was enough to beat us last year too. It’s March not September, there are always surprises in the draft, free agency and trades but right now we are looking like the nfc east a few years ago

  34. Oneilbuc Says:

Jamies just signed with the Saints on a 2 year deal with 21 million guarantee. We haven’t beaten the saints with Brady yet. So I don’t understand how it’s a easy division.

  35. Canabuc Says:

    Jameis a saint again

  36. Jerry Says:

Saints resign Jameis for 2 yrs

  37. Listen Linda! Says:

Unfortunately the Bucs have a poor track record playing against no-name and rookie quarterbacks.

  38. Buczilla Says:

Ryan has been good but rarely great for his entire career and I’m glad to see him go. I’m guessing that he gets into the hall of fame for his stats and one mvp, but I doubt that he’s a first ballot guy as of now. Adios mf!

  39. MONK Says:

ALERT! The Falcons traded Matt Ryan to the Colts….the dumpster is on fire!

  40. ED Says:

Winston and the Saints have agreed to a two-year contract, according to NFL Network. The deal is reportedly worth $28 million, with $21 million of it guaranteed.

  41. CharlieV Says:

For what it’s worth, Saints just resigned Winston.

  42. Marine Buc Says:

Did the Saints just resign Winston or did they re-sign him?

    I’m confused…

  43. HC Grover Says:

Good the Stainks got Winstun…now for Revenge.

  44. Rod Munch Says:

What idiots saying, good, I’m glad the Saints signed Winston. Did you morons even pay attention last year? With no NFL-level WRs to throw to, no NFL-level TE to throw to, he had them 5-2 and was just ahead of Brady in QBR. He had 14 TDs to 3 INTs while throwing to complete trash players. Also if the Saints defense didn’t blow a big lead vs the Giants, they’d have been 6-1.

I was for signing Brady, I’m certainly for bringing him back, because Brady is the greatest ever – that however doesn’t mean Winston sucks, and you idiots that think the Saints are going to be an easy W, are the same idiots who last year said the Bucs would sweep the Saints.

  45. Keith Says:

    Hahaha Falcons got Mariota

  46. D-Rome Says:

It looks like the Hawaiian Prince, Marcus Mariota, will be the Falcons new QB.

  47. Rod Munch Says:

Not only did the Falcons get garbage Mariota, they signed him on a 2-year deal. LOL!OL!OL!OOLOOOLO!!!!

WOW… No terms yet so maybe it’s not really a 2-year deal. Also not sure if he’s supposed to be a starter or backup, but if the Falcons are going to be starting him. LOLOLOLOLOLO!!!!!!!!!

  48. Crack3rK Says:

    Sasquatch : LMFAO!

  49. Anonymous Says:

    GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!

  50. DoooshLaRue Says:

    GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!

    Don’t diss JayMiss.

    It makes Munch ANGRY!
    🤣🤣🤣

  51. Rod Munch Says:

So, early off season prediction for the NFC South… Keep in mind the entire NFC South is playing a pretty brutal schedule…

    Bucs 11-6
    Saints 10-7
    Panthers 5-12
    Falcons 5-12

I’ll point out, as far as the Bucs record goes, I’ve successfully picked the correct win-loss record for 6-years straight now.

The Saints still have their defense in tact, and get Michael Thomas back, and you’d assume are going to sign WR or two. If Jameis is in fact healthy for the season, then they’re going to be a pain in the rear.

The Panthers I’m not too sure about since we don’t know who their QB is going to be. If they traded for Jimmy G for example, they might end up like 7-10, or even 8-9.

The Falcons should, if they had any sense, just do a full rebuild. I don’t know the terms of the Mariota contract, if he’s just considered a backup for someone they draft, but if Mariota is starting, he’ll get injured within 5-games. If the Falcons start a rookie, they might be more of a 3-14 team.

  52. Rod Munch Says:

Doodoodoochhhe… Weren’t you one of the dopes saying the Bucs would sweep the Saints last year?

  53. Listnfrmafar Says:

HELLO, didn’t the Bucs lose twice to NO last season. Any QB has a shot with Bucs secondary.

  54. BelleGladeBuc Says:

The Saints will not have Alvin Kamara.

He was caught on videotape beating a helpless man on the floor with a group of men who were also beating the man.

Kamara’s statement to the state was vastly different from what the video tape shows.

Kamara is facing a suspension at best, jail time at worst.

Michael Thomas hates the Saints and has stated he doesn’t want to play for them. Because of that statement it makes it extremely difficult for the Saints to deal him, especially with him coming off surgery.

The debate over Jameis is moot if those two playmakers aren’t playing and still counting towards the cap for the Saints.

  55. Your Mom Says:

Why would Atlanta trade out Matt Ryan without a decent alternative? Given the dire straits the Bucs were in sans Brady, any team without a QB right now is in deep voodoo.

  56. BelleGladeBuc Says:

    @Listntoatard/Sh!tlist

The Bucs were 12 and 4 last year.

They were one of the best teams in the NFL last year.

But you’re right @Listntoatard, the Bucs were SO easy to beat last year.

I mean the 12 – 4 Bucs were just as easy to beat with any QB vs our secondary as the Detroit Lions. SMH

    Never go @FullListntoatard.

  57. firethecannons Says:

Bet the Falcons deal for Jimmy g and they get him–interesting turn of events

  58. firethecannons Says:

just read Mariota is going to Falcons–need to keep up!

  59. Steven007 Says:

    Doosh, who am I? –

    Idiots, morons, dopes, anywho…

You have one guess. Fancy man needs some new adjectives.

  60. Stone crab sam Says:

Colts must be a favorite Super Bowl afc representative after this trade. Holy smokes.

  61. Steven007 Says:

Belle, thanks for the reminder regarding Kamara,. I have been stating this since his incident. He will likely miss 4 to 6 games, maybe more. If it’s at the beginning of this season, the saints may be dead and buried before half the seasons over between having their best player on the shelf, JW coming off a substantial injury, and no more Peyton

  62. adam from ny Says:

they’re all throwing in the white towel…

don’t be fooled, sean payton was the first to give up

    #TheBradyEffect

  63. John Olmstead Says:

Bucs do not need Brady to win this division!

  64. DoooshLaRue Says:

Go jump off the Skyway Steven007!

  65. Steven007 Says:

Damn it Doosh, there are barriers there now! #sad

  66. SaintsFan59 Says:

Wouldn’t the entire nation laugh its ass off if the QB play of the Yuccaneers was the worst in the NFC South. Your hero faked his retirement trying to get out of town. When it didn’t work he came back to your sorry club with his tail between his legs. And y’all fall for it like the tards that you are. I hope he looks every bit of the 53 or whatever age he will be this season.

  67. James Says:

SWEEP?!?!? Tom Brady can not beat the Saints!!! For some reason they are his kryptonite. Jameis will play out of his mind against the Bucs and stink the rest of the season.

  68. JA Says:

    Marine—

I believe they were resigned into a mentality that gave credence to re-signing him.
    In Saints colloquialism, dat work?

  69. Kalind Says:

Let’s calm down. The saints beat us 2x last year. And they had no QB for 1/2 of a game. AND THEY STILL WON. Let’s not count any chickens just yet.

  70. Marine Buc Says:

    @ JA

    LOL

    @ Rod

That is a pretty solid prediction for the NFC S – but I really hope the Bucs can win at least 12 games next season…

  71. Mike C Says:

The Saints can beat Bucs twice and the Bucs can win the super bowl, They have done that twice…..

  72. BelleGladeBuc Says:

    @SaintsFan

I’m just a a stupid Tampa guy asking a question for a friend named Katrina.

What’s dumber, living in Tampa and rooting for the Bucs or living in a city that’s well below sea level that’s in a direct line of Hurricanes every year?

    Katrina wants to know.

  73. DaBux Says:

    Trash dump?

Outside of Tampa, it’s a dumpster fire with more gasoline being pumped in.

    Just wow.

  74. SB Says:

Right now Kyle Pitts be like……….”Double curveball!!!”

  75. Tom Sumner Says:

2022 NFC SOUTH CHAMPS!! SUPER BOWL BOUND!! BOOK IT!!

  76. DoooshLaRue Says:

    The Saints aren’t our Kryptonite.

    Sean “butthole lips” Payton was.

    He gone.
Who dat gonna whip dem Aints?

  77. Glenn Williams Says:

Ummm…I wouldn’t sleep on the Saints. Their defense gave us hell and hurt our chances in the playoffs by knocking out our key starters. I really feel that game was extra juiced bc of what Devin White did to Jameis. Makes a lot of sense. And before he got hurt by the horse collar tackle, he carved our defense up like it was nothing. I was very nervous and yet impressed at the same time. He has changed. And don’t think for a second that he’ll be extra juiced to play us again. And on top of that, the same coach that coached them when Sean Payton was out due to COVID…is now the HEAD COACH!!! I’m not sure how the offense is gonna be but that defense is very aggressive and dangerous.

Marcus Mariota actually not that bad. He fits perfect with the Falcons. I’ve noticed the offense is now a short passing westcoast type of offense. That fit his skill set. Defense is still terrible. May improve but we’ll see.

I do agree with Carolina assessment but then again, shouldn’t expect much in the first year. This year should be a improvement but I hope I’m wrong. I agree we should win the division but it won’t be a cakewalk.

  78. Listnfrmafar Says:

Belleclown, once again your lack of comprehension reveals what a simpleton you are. I said it didn’t matter the QB, the Bucs secondary made shat ass Qb’s look like Probowlers. How many blowouts? Bears, Miami (after a early on pretty good scare), Giants, was there anyone else they beat up on. I mean the O averaged 30 pts a game, it appears they did their job. Dipshat!

  79. BelleGladeBuc Says:

    @Listntoatard

You said that a QB who has won a Super Bowl, is in the top 15 all time for QB stats right now, and by the end of his career will be in the top 10 all time was not elite.

Those things on a resume get you into the HOF.

But you, @Sh!tlist, in your infinite stupidness, you said that Matthew Stafford isn’t elite.

But you weren’t done with your player evaluation stupidness.

Then, @Sh!tlist, you top yourself and say Josh Allen isn’t elite.

    You’re a joke.

Nobody likes you but you @FraidyBucs.

    Leave.

  80. David Says:

Meanwhile the AFC west has 4 pro bowlers and odds are two of those teams won’t make the playoffs

  81. bucschamp Says:

saints is still the team to beat. beating the bucs is like super Bowl for them
