Michael Strahan Says February Chat With Tom Brady Was Telling

March 15th, 2022

Tom Brady transcends sports. Outside the sports world, people care about what he does.

That’s why Brady was the subject of a feature on Good Morning America yesterday, the newsy ABC morning show that always feels like its crafted for older women.

Of interest to Joe was that Hall of Fame defensive end Michael Strahan is a co-host and he’s well known as a personal friend of Brady.

The Goat himself sat down with Strahan last year when he famously said, “I got like a little sickness in me that just wants to throw a frick’n spiral, you know what I mean? Also about football, once you stop you can’t go back and do it. I got some more football in me, not a lot, and I know that. But what I got left I’m going to give everything I got.”

Strahan said yesterday that he chatted with Brady about a month ago and walked away knowing Brady hadn’t lost his desire to play. So he wasn’t shocked that Brady unretired.

“I realized it’s still him. He still has more, not to prove, but he still loves football,” Strahan said. “And then he got plenty of time to sit around and do nothing. So I’m glad he’s back. I was running around the house [yesterday] like I was a Tampa Bay fan.”

Joe ran around the house, too, even heckled some Saints fans on Twitter.

“even heckled some Saints fans on Twitter” Nice!

  2. SKBucsFan Says:

I’m guilty of that too. You couldn’t slap the smile off of my face. Glad to see it wasn’t limited to Bucs fans.
I wonder…were Saints fans smiling as well?

  3. Pewter report Says:

Watson may end up in our division but hoping for a 2022 suspension and for saints or panthers to give up a butt load of top picks and players to keep them average as long as possible

  4. HC Grover Says:

    Prepare for championship run.

    LFG

  5. Ed Says:

Jason Licht has a decent track record drafting offensive linemen. He’ll certainly draft one by round 3 but focus in one and two should be on defense. They need a vet WR to fill in for Godwin as can’t expect him to be full go by September.

I would start Grayson as number 3 and Evans of course number one. They need someone that can get open out of Godwin’s position. Perriman and Grayson are outside guys and Johnson doesn’t get open. He isn’t a starter

Speaking of which, where’s Saintsfan59 now? Got something for us, smart guy?

  7. #8 Says:

I’m curious how low brady’s deal is–though he’s worth every penny, if he wants the very best team, his cap hit has got to be low in order to fit the gronka, suh, jpp maybe & hopefully some other help.

  8. Allen Lofton Says:

With age comes more injuries, so the Bucs shouldn’t bring them all back – young blood can hopefully have fewer injuries for the Bucs to reach the Superbowl.

  9. Beeej Says:

Colw Beasley has been given permission to look for a trade, the guy is 32 but he still has a year or two left. The dude played a playoff game with a broken leg you want a guy like him on your team

  10. SPARKY Says:

The way we signed Jenson and Davis so fast tells me Brady is coming back cheap again. I can see Brady telling them to get what we need and he’ll take what’s left

  11. LakelandSteve Says:

I think every Bucs fan had a similar reaction. It almost felt like when it was first announced he was coming to Tampa when he left the Patriots. I hope this years group of players realize that this may really be his last year in Tampa and give it everything they have from Day 1 of practice to win another Super Bowl.

  12. LOL Says:

Wonder who the Bucs are going to sign for the 3rd WR role and to fill in at #2 while Godwin is out. I hope the Bucs can come to a long term agreement with Godwin so that the Bucs can free up a ton of cap space this year

  13. David Says:

I don’t understand how Watson could end up at New Orleans when their cap situation is horrible. I have a feeling he ends up in Philly or Cleveland. Houston can get Hurts or Mayfield back in a trade plus some picks

  14. LOL Says:

Also to all the morons saying Shaq is overpaid…. Randy Freaking Gregory (WHO?) is signing a 5yr/70mil dollar deal with Dallas today. Inflation is crazy in the NFL atm. Carlton Davis at 15m/yr is a steal. Shaq for 16.5m/yr is a steal

  15. Bruce Blahak Says:

If those guard spots aren’t fixed, he’ll have a forced retirement.

  16. Beeej Says:

Will we get a compensatory pick for Alex Cappa next year?

  17. Steven007 Says:

Pewter, both of those wishes will likely come true. Obviously the draft capital whichever team gets Watson will be paralyzing. And almost certainly he’ll be suspended, probably for 3 to 6 games or maybe more. The NFL has a history of suspending players who weren’t convicted of a crime but who had, oh let’s see, some hassles.

  18. Francisco Guzman Says:

Need to make more moves. Where’s gronk? Can they bring JPP back?

  19. Francisco Guzman Says:

LOL the Gregory signing only 28 million guarantee.
