Operation Sneak

January 16th, 2022

Pivotal moment

Some Bucs fans would have straight up applauded if running back Ke’Shawn “Sneak” Vaughn was cut after his hands failed him in the Bucs’ embarrassing 9-0 loss to the Saints at The Licht House four weeks ago.

Man, fans have become ruthless after getting a taste of Super Bowl glory!

Bucco Bruce Arians and general manager Jason Licht weren’t foolish, and Vaughn has since rushed for 130 yards on 25 carries and 2 touchdowns in the final three games. And he’s flashed the receiving hands that made him a third-round pick out of Vanderbilt.

Today, Vaughn is a starter in the playoffs with Leonard Fournette (hamstring) and Ronald Jones (ankle) ruled out. Le’Veon Bell will not be carrying the load, and Giovani Bernard just got off the injured list.

What a turning point game this will be for Vaughn’s future. The moment couldn’t be more huge, especially on a day when the passing game will be challenged by wind.

Yeah, Joe would prefer Playoff Lenny or RoJo, but sometimes fresh legs and fire for the playoffs is the perfect combination. Joe has seen it before.

Joe will be cheering for Vaughn extra hard today, and Joe suspects Playoff Lenny will be, too. What a coup it would be for Licht and his staff to see Vaughn carry the mail in the postseason. It would be a nice middle finger for all the folks that didn’t vote the GM to the NFL’s Executive Of The Year honor.

The real and long suffering Bucs fans appreciate everything that’s going on right now. The others are trolls, malcontents and race-baiters who deserve to be ignored.

  2. Bobby M. Says:

Fingers crossed he runs without hesitation and holds on to the ball. He reminds me of Lesean McCoy in his early days. Runs hard, cuts quick, has reliable hands…..just needs to show it all with consistency.

  3. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Really rooting for 3 players to do extraordinarily well today……..Keyshawn, Brate & Perriman…..they could be keys to victory.

  4. Tim Says:

@TBBF Agreed. It would be awesome for Brate to have a good run in the playoffs. I have a sneaking suspicion he doesn’t have much gas left in the tank, so it would be nice to see him ball out. Perriman too, since it seems he does better in this offense than any other he’s played in.

I believe Keshawn Vaughn gets it now especially after TB got in his rear end. I think he came in the league anticipating to do too much to prove himself to the GOAT, which lead to drops, fumble, n missed blocks. He caught n ran the ball well in college n ran with ease. He had no problem with the dropsies. However, , I think it was all mental for him once he got to the nfl n the minute he drop a pass or fumbled he lost his confidence. Thanks to Brady’s drilling, motivation, n uplifting with a vote of confidence, his game has elevated. I still have concerns with his blocking or lack of.

Cheers to the birth of wild card Vaughn!

  7. Chris@Apple Roof Cleaning Tampa Says:

Vaughn was awesome at Vanderbuilt, and that is why we drafted him.
He ran all over the SEC behind that “great” Vanderbuilt line, LOL
Yes, he needs to have a great day today, for us to have a balanced attack.

  8. Tim Says:

What the hell is up with our RB’s having “confidence” problems? I don’t hear about this with other teams. Stre our RB’s just mentally weaker or what?

  9. Tim Says:

    *Are

  10. Wild Bill Says:

Pray that the injury bug doesn’t bite Vaughn too. Not much left behind him. Gonna be tough to repeat with all the injuries this season. Hoping our two best pass rushing outside linebackers can play through their injuries and David in the middle too. Those three were huge in last years SB win last year. If the defense plays stout Brady will find a way to win.

  11. Kenny Says:

I’m looking for Bell to have a huge day. Just got a feeling.

    Go Bucs!

  12. Listnfrmafar Says:

I hope Vaughn has a short memory, his last playoff game wasn’t very good at WFT. He’ll be fine and Bell is probably in football shape now, I like his veteran presence. Stay away from turnovers & penalties, play discipline football.

  13. Coburn Says:

Yup. Hope he runs well, but most important part is hold onto the ball tight young man. Mistake free football is what will win us the game

  14. RunRunPassRay Says:

    Just win baby!!!

  15. David Says:

Rojo got his chance last year and proved it in the season.
Lenny got his chance in the playoffs and proved it to a Super Bowl.
Vaughn gets his chance now. He is explosive and can catch out of the backfield because he did in college.
His keys are going to be picking up the Blitzer and knowing when to release for the pass, and
    Do
    Not
    Fumble.

They are not going to account for him. I have a feeling he has a good day.
Yards from scrimmage I’m got him at over 90.

    LFG!!!

  16. Capt.Tim Says:

I hope Vaughn has a great game. I think he will.
But if this game isn’t won by Brady, Mike Evans, And Gronk, – then Ill be shocked
    Wind or no wind.

  17. Leighroy Says:

Vaughn’s performance today could also have a big impact on who and how many of the RBs are brought back in the off-season. Remember, hes the only one under contract next year. You want to be the man? Today is your chance to seize the opportunity!
