Bruce Arians “Not Sure” Lavonte David Will Practice Today

January 13th, 2022

Lavonte David

Bucco Bruce Arians was talking last night.

The greatest head coach in Bucs history said he’s really looking forward to seeing what Bucs sacks king Shaq Barrett, Jason Pierre-Paul and Leonard Fournette can do in practice today for the first time in weeks.

“Not sure about Lavonte David yet for [Thursday],” Arians added with a slightly dejected tone. “Get those guys back and I’m going to feel a whole lot better.”

Also during his visit to SiriusXM NFL Radio, Arians was glowing about having his secondary healthy, so that told Joe there are good reports at One Buc Palace about the hamstring tweaks of cornerbacks Jamel Dean and Sean Murphy-Bunting.

As for the most important guy on the field, Tom Brady, Arians said it was unlikely Brady would practice today just to keep him fresh. It’s a precautionary measure, said the head coach, emphasizing that Brady has been mentally grinding like no other this week.

Joe would love to see David return from his Lisfranc injury, but it would be so sweet if the Bucs could get by with giving him one more game off.

More fun with TAMPA TWO from The Identity Tampa Bay and Joe.

Agreed. Let David rest another week.

  2. Buc4evr Says:

If LVD doesn’t play, it could by our last week. White and Minter aren’t getting it done.

  3. Scotty in Fat Antonio Says:

    Put KJ Britt in….

  4. Elita Vita Says:

Dress him and utilize him only if necessary.

  5. Listnfrmafar Says:

This is play off time, one and done baby, if you can play, you play no more resting. Where is Pete, Where is Pete, Where is Pete? I guess his mommy found the oxyg bottle under his pillow and grounded him by taking his phone away. Or he could possibly in rehab. Where is Pete?

  6. Show Me the TDs Says:

I agree with Scotty. Put Britt in.

  7. Ash Says:

If David can play definitely need him for the eagles game, eagles run game is the real deal very much needed in this one.

  8. Bird Says:

I also agree on britt if lvd cant go. Eagles run a-lot. Or short passes so he wont be as abused in passing downs. You can tell britt is fast enough and physical. Something we have been lacking for some reason. Just have him split a few snaps/ series with minter.

  9. Tampabaybucfan Says:

If LVD isn’t near 100%, rest him because he won’t be effective anyway……hopefully JPP & Shaq will improve things greatly.

  10. BillyBucco Says:

I watched the preview of Bucs vs Eagles and when it shows the Bucs stopping the run, you can see how well JPP and Shaq set the edges.

Minter will be fine for this game.
I love the Bucs fell to 3rd in run defense.
Now teams will try to run again.

I think it’s more by design than a flaw.

  11. JBBucs06 Says:

At the very least, JPP and Shaq will be in their gaps and set the edge funneling the ball carriers to the interior where our DL and LB can wreak havoc. You saw that from Nelson a little but not so much from JTS.

I believe that helps us more than LVD who did not play in week 6. Eagles broke out end 3Q/4Q due more to lack of discipline looking fwd to 10 day (since it was a Thu night game) vs missing LVD. We shut them down from after 1st drive to the end of 3Q.

  12. SOEbuc Says:

Glowing about our sh!tty secondary??? Thank the lord the marshmallow practice squad Dean can return!!! Aaron Rodgers might be able the Bucs purely based on that guy. But we still gotta keep the faith. LFG ROUND ONE!!!

  13. SOEbuc Says:

*be able to work the Bucs purely based on that guy.

  14. Mike Johnson Says:

Juat hope we can get a decent pass rush. Give that kid time and he will hurt us.

  15. Daryl Green Says:

Right on Soebuc, This secondary is Fugazi.
    Grave Diggers 😂🤣😂.

  16. Nprbuc Says:

I’m concerned about Medicated Pete. I hope he is not I’ll or injured. He rarely adds anything football wise to the site but he does bring a lot of humor with his stupid posts. Get well Pete and GO BUCS!

  17. Goldenbuc Says:

We don’t have the best corners but they’re scrappy, which works well with a good pass rush. That’s why our picks are normally tipped passes. Dean will get smoked come right back out and make a big play in pass or run, same with SMB and CD3. Our safeties wait for you to make a mistake, and our lbs and j white are hunting for whoever has the ball. Dline contains for the most part. Because of the unity of the D we’ll always have a chance. Then because of Tom on offense we’ll always have a chance. That’s why we’re hard to beat.
