We Have A Giovani Bernard Update

December 13th, 2021

MRI tests are finished.

So it seems Bucs backup running back Giovani Bernard might miss a game or two (or more?).

That’s the word from Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.

Earlier today, Bucs Super Bowl-winning coach Bucco Bruce Arians said he didn’t have an upate on Bernard as he was “in the tube” undergoing MRI tests. Well, now there is an update.

As you can see, what exactly “time” is remains unknown. Is it a game, three games, the rest of the regular season? The full season? Your guess is as good as Joe’s.

So now Joe assumes it is time for Ke’Shawn Vaughn to step up and make his presence felt.

Get well soon, sir. It’s been great to watch you this year.

Hip and MCL = next year.

  4. SB~LV Says:

The tough SOB Vet went in to field a punt afterwards… all he had to do was catch it !
Speaks to how important trust is late in a game.
One mission, just catch the punt !

Thanks for the timeout BA, it was the play after he did it taking on a rusher to protect Brady. Brady had his personnel on the field Bill’s on the ropes with the wrong personnel, 50 seconds left in the half with 2 TO’s left, a lifetime for Brady but no, BA wakes up from his nap and screams timeout! Freaking idiot and if you read Bradys lips he probably said the same.

  6. Jmarkbuc Says:

Things like that time out are why this will be TBs last year. In Tampa at least.

    Who is Giovanni Bernard?

  8. kyle Says:

with all our injuries this year, really highlights how lucky we were from an injury standpoint last year.

  9. Beeej Says:

Has anyone asked BA why the time out was called?

  10. Stanglassman Says:

He motioned out wide on that play. I never saw how he got injured. I thought he was knocked out the way he was laying so still. Poor guy has taken a beating this year. Get better soon Geo.

    Stan

    Right?

He’s played what 40 plays? And injured at least three times… something strange in the water …

  12. cmurda Says:

Dammit. That’s crappy AF news with Gio. I can’t recall which big play it was but Gio made a huge block on a Bills blitz that was necessary for Brady to have the time to throw the ball.

@Jmark. We are usually on the same page but if Brady retires, it won’t be because Arians took a timeout or anything involving Bruce at all. In fact, Tom has been more loose in Tampa and seems to enjoy it far more than in NE. If Tom hangs it up, it’s because he feels it is time. His skill is still dead on. He may be a bit tougher and faster now though. LOL

Im being facetious.. a little. But I do think the culture shock from a super disciplined organization to the flip flop and golf cart set doesn’t always sit well with TB. And I do think it’s weird when BL has to go to TB and ask if he’s doing ok.. like some puppy seeking approval.

Definitely NOT what Tom is used to.

  14. Buc king Says:

Just get Rojo back on ship and work this offense till ab is back…if we can get scotty back too then we can rotate him n perriman too exhaust defenses

  15. Reach87 Says:

SB champs, 10-3 so far this year. And yet some bums on the couch think they know better than the professional coach. Amusing. TO had nothing to do with the injury other than they happened in the same game. Go Bucs!

  16. cmurda Says:

@Jmark. I don’t necessarily disagree with you. In fact, to add on. I don’t see why BA feels the need to call out TB on the few bad passes or misses of open receivers that happens rather than the way bigger problems of his staff. Why do we always play an amazing 30 minutes and a crappy 30 minutes. Figure that out with Todd Bowles and Lafty. Usually the 1st half is crappy and this time it was reversed. That’s more concerning then the maybe 2 plays that Brady misses an open receiver. He’s the damn GOAT. I like BA and he seems to be a stand up guy and well received by the players but is his ego bruised by TB’s standing?

  17. tvan101 Says:

At least we have a chance to get him back for the playoffs.

  18. Jmarkbuc Says:

    @cmurda

Ironic isn’t it? BA sets himself as the great delegator, then has to do something stupid to feel relevant😂

I still feel that Tom misses the level of dedication and work ethic. That’s also why I harp on ME, he really is a great post up, red zone, 50/50 WR.. no doubt, and I’m glad he’s a Buc. He doesn’t seem to pick up on the nuances that TB is expecting and I’m not sure he will. That doesn’t make me a ME 13 hater, so everyone chill.

I think TB has realized that he can’t instill twenty years of the Patriot way in two seasons, as hard as he’s trying and as much as he’d like to.

    I love him either way.

  19. Oxycodoms Says:

Funny when people on here preseason were predicting 80 catches for him this year that was hilarious

  20. rrsrq Says:

It’s time to use ROjO, you better see what you got. Know way the Bucs are going to be able to pay Lenny and Godwin. ROjO in limited opportunities catching the ball this year and last has not been an issue

  21. Beej Says:

Have we ascertained if Vaughn is a viable receiver?

  22. SB Says:

Time for Key to step up.

  23. Rod Munch Says:

Dolphins had just signed Duke Johnson, which stinks, he’d have been a nice pass catcher replacement if Gino was out for any extended time.

But in any case it’s been a one man show lately, so lets just hope Fournette can keep it up.
