“I Don’t Want You To Do Any Zoom Meetings”

Bucco Bruce Arians

Bucco Bruce Arians has spoken!

Presumably from his bed or couch.

Yes, the 69-year-old head coach is home with a positive COVID test and will not coach on Sunday.

Today, interim coach Harold Goodwin, the Bucs’ co-offensive-line coach in charge of centers and guards, said he talked to Arians last night after getting a quick call yesterday morning.

They chatted a while last night, Goodwin said, and Arians noted he didn’t want to meddle.

“He goes, ‘Hey, I don’t want to do any Zoom meetings. I trust you. You’ll do great. Just be yourself and I’ll be back as soon as I can,”’ Goodwin said, quoting Arians.

Typical Arians. The guy’s a great delegator and puts immense trust in his beloved staff. Goodwin told media today that Arians is one of his great mentors and he definitely feels he can think just like the Super Bowl head coach.

With the new protocols arians would be able to coach Sunday if he has no symptons. Does not need a negative test

  2. Bucsfan951 Says:

I just want the team to get healthy and stay healthy. That’s it!

All the needs to be said.

  4. Cobraboy Says:

If this was a one-and-done game, I suspect Arians would have an entirely different attitude.

    Nice story about BA’s philosophy.

  6. Tampabaybucfan Says:

The true ability of a great manager is to pick the right employees and then delegate to them.

  7. Listnfrmafar Says:

Delegate or lazy. He avoids meetings anyway, why should today be any different? I’m sure that’s what Shaun Payton said when he was out with covid. NOT, he did what he is paid to do.

  8. Boston Tommy Says:

Hey lisning from afar did you hear that? I just farted and it sounded like WHO.. DAT

  9. firethecannons Says:

Joe keep a bead on BA. covid aint for nothing–my kids are hurt with this, cannot imagine what this grown ass obese unhealthy man is dealing with. not insulting BA just relaying a description.

  10. Elita Vita Says:

Wondering if this is Arians’ last year. Having Covid takes its toll in our seniors. He has already won a Super Bowl as a Head Coach. This upcoming game is an opportunity to see how the Bucs will fare without him. Yes BA, take some time off. Let your capable staff temporarily take over. Your job is to heal! Take care!

(And some others I’ve seen on other posts….)

You people are pathetic. Go root for the Jets.

This coach brought a Super Bowl last year and has won the division this year and you trash him.
Every coach and player in the NFL constantly praises him but as you sit your fat ass on your couch eating chips and drinking a beer you think you know better than them.
So sick of the completely ignorant negative Fanbase that is around here

  13. Listnfrmafar Says:

Ya, not buying that one David. You just described what BA will be doing this weekend. There is only one person that led the Bucs to SB and division title and he wears the number 12. He recruited the right veterans and changed the dynamic of the entire organization. Without his influence the Bucs would still be on the island of misfit toys not making the playoffs.

  14. Eddie Marz Says:

I’m with you David that guy is a jerk. Probably some jet fan. BA gives his staff respect and encouragement. I don’t see that as being lazy, what a horrible thing to say.
