“He’s Run His Ass Off”

December 22nd, 2021

RoJo! RoJo! RoJo!

Ronald Jones now has the opportunity he’s been seeking all season.

The Buccaneers’ No. 1 running back is now RoJo with Leonard “Bad Hammy Lenny” Fournette done for the regular season.

On the Buccaneers Radio Network last night, Bucco Bruce Arians praised RoJo’s hard running against New Orleans on Sunday and even his lone pass reception.

Today after practice, Arians was talking about how RoJo has handled his backup role well this season.

“Every time he’s gotten in a ballgame he’s run his ass off,” Arians said.

There’s a lot of proof in the stats. RoJo has 71 carries for 337 yards and 3 touchdowns this season. That’s 4.7 yards per carry after churning out 5.1 yards per carry last season.

“It’s all on his shoulders again,” Arians said yesterday. “I look forward to that.”

“Don’t make me gassed. You wouldn’t like me when I’m gassed”

  2. Jordan Says:

He caught the 2 balls he was targeted vs the Saints, and he looked like he felt more comfortable catching them as well.

He is a great back if he can figure that out – to leave him in on 3rd down and shotgun formations ALL of the time would be amazing.

  3. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Rojo, just give us another one of those 98 yard scampers like you did last time against the STINKING Panthers……

Also…..Rojo….if you want a nice paycheck, here or anywhere….here’s your chance to shine.

  4. Swampbuc Says:

Better be having him to a boatload of 100 yard dashes every day until gametime.

  5. LVMYBUCS Says:

RoJo is always been good, but you can see it in his eyes that he is pissed that he has been benched. One two punch AB, not wear out the one punch and now let’s use the two punch. Lenny may have not gotten hurt if they would have split time like they should have all season.

  6. Bojim Says:

    C’mon RoJo!!

  7. Defense Rules Says:

RoJo got benched because Lenny had more upside in terms of catching the ball & pass blocking. So rather than be pissed, all he has to do is prove the coach wrong. Performance is what counts, and not JUST in running the ball. RBs who aren’t all-around backs kinda make the opposing defense’s job that much easier I’d think.

  8. Chris@Apple Roof Cleaning Tampa Says:

Yes, they literally rode Lenny into the ground!
Poor ROJO, the number 3 all time rusher at USC, forced to sit and watch.
    Now is your chance ROJO.

  9. T REX Says:

    rojo is awful

  10. LVMYBUCS Says:

    Chris@Apple Roof Cleaning Tampa Says:

YOU ARE %100 CORRECT THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT THEY DID.

  11. LVMYBUCS Says:

    @Defense Rules Says:

I agree, but you dont run your number one guy into the ground.

  12. gotbbucs Says:

I hope Ronald balls out and spikes the ball right down Arians throat at the end of the season.

  13. Bird Says:

The good thing is rojo knows he is playimg for next contract after being on bench most of year.

He knows millions are involved cause agent will show the highlights in next 3 games if good results

  14. TiredBucsFan Says:

Rojo needs to gojo. He’s a good college rb. Can’t block, won’t take a hit and can’t catch.

  15. LVMYBUCS Says:

If Rojo could block and catch I would take him over Lenny only because Lenny tap dancing act slows him down in my opinion. Rojo, once he hits that hole he is gone and not to many people gonna catch him from behind.

  16. adam from ny Says:

    rojo should shave his head…

then just run rojo run…run like a mofo rojo…

interesting he’s getting a start right back in carolina on sunday…

    fitting…

get in where you fit in

  17. LVMYBUCS Says:

HEY JOE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! any practice footage of Bell?

  18. captivajim Says:

lenny was a better blocker for brady –but i agree they rode him too hard too long ..our O line should be able to handle the 4 man rushes of Panthers & jets.

ROJO can run– we need him to do really well..

  19. The Beer Whisperer Says:

Feed RoJo the Rock. Tell him, he’s not allowed to get gassed, get hurt, or fumble. Or there will be deductions in pay, lol

  20. adam from ny Says:

rojo knows he’s auditioning for his next team over the next 3 games…

watch the fuggin saint sign him and pair him up with kamara…

    awww geez

  21. adam from ny Says:

i could see him in the atl

  22. Jmarkbuc Says:

    Playoff Ronnie

  23. Listnfrmafar Says:

All talent but a mental mess. I guess we’ll see. I bet Bell out plays him.

  24. crazyBucs_CL Says:

    @the interview……
Bruce Arians : “metal practice, today…” whatever that means🙄.
TV🤡 looked happy, relaxed, joking with his media friends, almost feeling good with the position we are at, like NO PROBLEM AT ALL.
We have no NFL team from now to the end of season, and this joker is laughing!!!
Wow, at this point I’m convinced: Bucs are on hands of a befuddled/clueless HC.
    Sad!

  25. ModHairKen Says:

Someone needs to run his ass off.

  26. Craig Says:

He always runs his ass off. Maybe that is the problem; he takes his brain out of gear and it farts.

If he could cut the brain farts, he wouldn’t have been benched, even by a grown up Lenny.

Maybe a deep breath before each play, to aspirate those farts. Slow down a little and keep the brain working?

  27. Jason Says:

Was a Rojo fan and supporter for most of his career here, but this season I’ve gotten weird Josh Freeman vibes from the guy.

  28. TearfulRojo Says:

Better hope I hold onto the ball.

  29. BigPoppaBuc Says:

Hope he’s been tied to Brady’s hip this week. Stay over at the Brady Castle. Extra meetings with the O-line. Gotta get this guy ready for situations. When it comes to running the rock, RoJo is just fine.

  30. orlbucfan Says:

Hopefully, he’ll keep Brady from getting sacked and showing his age.

  31. Brandon Says:

    T-Wrecks say Rojo is awful.

No, your analysis is awful. You’ve gotta be blind.

  32. Steven007 Says:

Rojo is by far our best back (from a pure running standpoint) with the most juice and hits the line with authority pretty much every carry. Obviously he has weaknesses in the passing game and in pass pro. As a runner though I’m just fine with him in there. I assume that Bell, when ready, will be a third down back and nothing much else.

  33. Oneilbuc Says:

Rojo should be starting this year he earned it last year.

  34. Bbro Says:

We just dined Lavon Bell to fill in for Fournette

  35. Bbro Says:

    Signed not lined

  36. Bbro Says:

    Damn little ass text bs

  37. mg Says:

He is exceptional at running out of bounds.

  38. Bobby M. Says:

I pray Rojo has enough brains to see how valuable the next three games are for his next contract and career.

  39. Joe in Michigan Says:

Oneilbuc: Uh, you do watch the Bucs games, right? You really think Rojo deserved the starting job over Fournette? If so, what planet are you from?

  40. SB~LV Says:

That quote is missing two words
    , the team

  41. DaBux Says:

Talk him up now coach but the rest of us see the butter and jam behind you.

RoJo is T-O-A-S-T the minute this season ends.

  42. Rod Munch Says:

I think Ronnie is going to look good, running the ball, but Leftwich can’t be an idiot and use Jones the same way he’s been using Fournette, they’re not the same guy, and Rojo isn’t going to suddenly be able to catch the ball.

Ronald is who he is, he’s a RB in the Adrian Peterson mold, he’s good at running the ball, and isn’t going to kill you in pass blocking, but you don’t pass them the ball 6 times a game.

If the Bucs come out and just throw it at the running back like Fournette is still there, that is 100% on Leftwich for not making adjustments.

  43. #1bucsfan Says:

I hope he takes this opportunity that has bin given to him. The ball will literally be in his hands and of course block. Not expecting to much out of bell just wait but I’m a little bit excited to see what he can bring

  44. Izod Says:

The only problem is this staff doesn’t have any patience with the run game.
