Bucs Planning For Two Quarterbacks

December 22nd, 2021

Cam Newton will share his job

It’s a mess in Carolina. They went from a 3-0 start to a 5-9 record.

There’s talent on defense and absolute dysfunction on offense.

Cam Newton hasn’t won a game as a starter and today Panthers head coach Matt Rhule (where will he be coaching next year?) says Newton will start against the Bucs on Sunday but opening-day starter Sam Darnold also will play.

Darnold loves to turn the ball over and he hasn’t played since Week 9 because of a bad shoulder.

Can you say sh*tshow?

Bucco Bruce Arians was expressing a lot of confidence this week in his run defense being able to shut down Newton, who rushed 15 times for 71 yards and a touchdown Sunday against Buffalo. But now defensive coordinator Todd Bowles will have to prep for Darnold, too, his former Jets quarterback.

Joe just finished watching the Bills-Panthers game and, frankly, Joe can’t figure out how the Panthers are going to be able to put up more than 17 points on the Bucs.

If that’s enough to beat Tampa Bay, Joe might have a stroke.

Going to be a tough game.

  2. Swampbuc Says:

This is also the kind of game where Cam gets his first win as a starter.

Zero points in the last four quarters, 3 points in the last six quarters.

If the Panthers score 17 it’s probably too many.

After last week I am scared. It is a toss up. We could beat our own selfs again. Stop the madness and let Brady call the plays.

  7. gbobucsfan Says:

I live in NC. Local sports really think the Panthers can sweep the Bucs and they are still talking playoffs. Seriously !

  8. Winny Testaverde Says:

Que Jim Mora with the ā€œplayoffs?!ā€ talk. One Sƌ writer was convinced Fig Newton was going to lead the Panthers to a division title when they signed himā€¦so delusion is everywhere. That saidā€¦Bucs better bring their best effort and play calling here on out or itā€™s over before the playoffs even begin.

Well I don’t wanna give you a stroke, but it only took 9 points to beat us last weekend.

Over the last 6 quarters of regulation, our potent (impotent?) offense has amassed a whopping total of… 3 points.

  10. Listnfrmafar Says:

Didn’t Bowles coach Donald when he was a Jet? Hit Donald he folds like a cheap beach chair.

    Who can blame them, right??
Deep down, without fan’s bias and in total silence, most of us think the same.šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø

  12. sasquatch Says:

Douche Newton will give the game away if the Bucs play decently.

And then heā€™ll dress like a cartoon clown for his postgame.

  13. orlbucfan Says:

The key will be our defense. Hopefully, Brady doesnā€™t screw up with sacks and picks.

  14. Listnfrmafar Says:

You got your name right, CRAZY. Speak for yourself.

  15. Mike Johnson Says:

Bucs should win this one. SHOULD. I’m more cautious of Darnold than Cam. No names have a habit of beating up on us. Who is going to step up for us? Somebody has to. A couple more injuries and we are done guys. Our RB and WR injury are huge. Next man up. Lets see what we got.

  16. MadMax Says:

If we show up sleep deprived and hung over again, WE LOSE!

  17. Anonymous Says:

    Didn’t the Kitties beat NO?

After the last game, the Bucs should be very concerned about any team they play.

  18. captivajim Says:

ONE TD is last 100 minutes of football …. & for 70 of those minutes we had CG, ME ,& Gronk ….

We need to score on 1st possession–get the confidence /swagger back !!!!

  19. Chris@Apple Roof Cleaning Tampa Says:

As someone here pointed out, it sometimes only takes 9 points to beat us.
The Panthers are dangerous because they are severe underdogs, and basically playing for their season, and quite possibly their coach.
Their playoff hopes are all but over, but a loss to us will end any hope they may have had.
They are at home, and will play hard.

  20. Bird Says:

If they have a chance its in NC.

Even with injuries bucs should be able to beat carolina at
    Home and Jets

    Still think evans plays

  21. stone crab sam Says:

‘Bugs bunny’ newton always plays the bucs tough.
Just look at that mans dew.
    You cant make it up.
Iam just glad they dont have steve smith, luke keakly, or mccaffery.

  22. bucschamp Says:

don’t care about their QBs, how’s their front 4?

  23. Rod Munch Says:

When the then 3-1 Panthers traded with the Pats to get Gillmore, in order to block the Bucs from getting him, I praised and mocked them. I praised them for being aggressive and blocking the Bucs, a team in their division, from getting depth they badly needed. That’s a move that a team does when they’re trying to win and think they will be in contention. But I also mocked the Panthers for being unrealistic morons. They were 3-1 with the best defense in football at the time, and I said they’d end up 5-12. At the time people said my ‘hot-take’ was bad, that the Panthers would be in contention all year. LOL! Yeah, OK there kiddo, how did that prediction turn out? Also another dope was actually angry at the fact I pointed out that a team in the division would make a move to hurt another team in the division. I have no idea why that dummy was made that I would suggest that, but it’s something the Bucs should be doing as well if they were in a similar situation where they could hurt the Saints. The issue was the Panthers being so divisional that they believed their stupid team was actually good when their wins at the time were against the Texans, the Jets and a Saints team that had half their defense and coaches out with COVID.

  24. Delson Says:

I dont really wanna watch this game but i know that i will. Bucs can play down to any team in the lg and that is every damn sunday. I think we have AB back but we had godwin and evans last week. If im the panthers im doubling brown and gronk. Forcing the checkdown where shaq thompson reads the defense best. This game is going to suck

  25. Bucsfanman Says:

I just can’t take this dude seriously! For the outfit alone, I hope we beat them.

  26. Doctor Stroud Says:

Just as long as Derek Anderson isn’t one of those QBs, I’m okay with it.

  27. TampabayDJ82 Says:

YOUR ALL A BUNCH OF FAKE FAN’S THAT FIND SOMETHING TO COMPLAIN ABOUT EVEN WHEN MY BUCS WON 4 IN A ROW AND PUT UP AT LEAST 30 IN EACH GAME !! WHEN THEY SCORE 30+ , YOU ALL SAY THE DEFENSE SUCKS ! WHEN THE DEFENSE GOES OUT AND PLAYS A GREAT GAME , HOLDING THEM TO 9 POINTS , REALLY 6 IF THEY WOULD HAVE CALLED THAT DELAY OF GAME ON THIRD DOWN THAT LED TO THE EXTRA FIELD GOAL. TAKE OUT YOUR TAMPONS AND GROW A PAIR CRYBABIES !! WE LOST OUR 3 BEST PLAYERS IN THE MATTER OF 15 MINUTES
