Expect Bradley Pinion To Return To Punting Sunday

December 28th, 2021

Punter Bradley Pinion

Fresh special teams chatter today from Bucco Bruce Arians.

The Bucs put their top punter on the bench Sunday. Arians previously had talked about subpar production from Bradley Pinion and he meant business.

Replacement punter Sterling Hofrichter, a second-year guy who was with the Falcons last year, was practicing with the team and Arians said on his team-sponsored multimedia show today that he made the decision to go with Hofricheter after Thursday’s practice.

Pinion has battled a hip issue all year, per Arians, but has been getting healthier. The head coach noted that he asked Pinion if one week off would help him and Pinion said it definitely would. So that’s why the change was made, and Arians said he hopes it will be business as usual with Pinion punting Sunday against the Jets and for the rest of the regular season.

Hofricheter’s kickoffs were way too short.

If Pinion is battling through something, and it’s the type of thing that gets better with a week off, I wonder if having someone else execute the kickoffs for the next two games would help him out too???
