Antonio Brown Shares Tom Brady Love

December 2nd, 2021

“Richard Sherman Podcast” spot.

Antonio Brown made a rare interview appearance this week. That’s cool.

But what isn’t cool for Bucs fans is that Brown revealed virtually nothing about the Bucs and didn’t detail his battle to get back on the field as he rehabs his messed up ankle.

On the same day it was reported that Brown will miss “at least” the next two games with his slow-healing left ankle, the latest “Richard Sherman Podcast” dropped with Brown as the guest. But the two Bucs players only indirectly chatted about the Bucs. A little.

There is no question that Brown has deep love for his good friend and former landlord, 17-game-loathing, salad-bar-hating, park-violating, home-invading, NFLPA-ignoring, down-forgetting, handshake-stiffing, jet-ski-losing, biscuit-baking, tequila-shooting, smartphone-phobic, waffle-grilling, trophy-throwing, roller coaster-scared, numbers-rules-peeved, helmet-tossing, football-punting, Bucs-Super-Bowl-winning quarterback Tom Brady.

Sherman gently needled Brown about living with Brady when Brown first came to Tampa last year. Sherman asked how the two lived together. The way Brown spoke about Brady, it sounded as if Brady saved his career.

“It was blessing,” Brown said. “Anytime you have a friend like Tom who is going to be encouraging and challenging and inspiring and motivated. Come to a team where I already have a friend there who knows me and to be able to hit the ground with some familiarity, I think is really important.”

And to sort of echo Tristan Wirfs, Brown said Brady’s expectation if not demands from teammates to prepare thoroughly and play at a high level is what sets Brady apart.

“One thing about Tom, you have to put in the extra work and you have to trust him,” Brown said. “He is constantly making sure you are on the same page with him.”

Also, Brown, who will turn 34 next summer, believes he has “a couple of more” years in the tank.

Joe really hopes Brown can get back. If that means he doesn’t play the rest of December, so be it. The Bucs need Brown healthy for the playoffs.

It’s important for Brady to have Gronk & AB on the field at the same time…..there is absolutely no way defenses cover Evans, Godwin, AB & Gronk…….Looks like AB will be back for the Saints on 12/19…..TBBF will be there….

  4. SB Says:

Like I said here yesterday: Rest up AB! Just be back by week 19 or 20

What are you trying to get at?

  6. Casual Observer Says:

Both Playoff Lenny and AB are stars. I thought both would shine this season and, except for AB’s injury, was on the mark. Hope the Licht can find a way to sign both for at least 2 years.

    @Joe
I gotta say this is funny… You get to see how the rest of us deal with Pete. So I’m thinking he’s not liking your articles. The ones that don’t pertain to on the field. I for one enjoy the insights that you guys provide. Ban him If you like Joe. There won’t be any outcry for Pete’s walking of the plank
    Go Bucs
