Your Leading Bucs Receiver In 2021

October 24th, 2021

Big numbers

Man, Chris Godwin is going to earn a fortune on his next contract.

Joe can smell the cash all the way on Clearwater Beach.

After snatching 8 balls for 111 yards and a touchdown today, Godwin now leads the Bucs with 42 catches and 520 receiving yards. He also has 3 touchdowns.

Stretch that over the whole season and Godwin would finish 102 catches for 1,262 yards. Godwin has hauled in more than 74 percent of his targets and looks like the Pro Bowl talent he was in 2019 and 2020, except this year he’s healthy.

Godwin is planing his flag in a big way for Bucs management, as his game gets more diverse and the Bucs didn’t look like a team today that missed Antonio Brown at all.

Mike Evans will grab the big national and fantasy headlines this week, but it’s Godwin who is emerging as Tom Brady’s top dog.

The Big 3 receivers are all clutch at different times. Godwin is indeed looking at a $20 million/season payday. Brown will be needed deep in the playoffs vs the best of the best.

  2. Leighroy Says:

Brady even left some stats out there on the field for Godwin too with some of those uncharacteristic mis-throws.

  3. King C Says:

Bucs got lucky to get an extra year out of CW. Either they pay up or one of the WR needy teams will.

  4. SufferingSince76 Says:

    I’m sure Brady misses AB.

  5. Upstate NY BUC Says:

    Pay the man, please….

  6. David Says:

Godwin, Evans, and Brown should all go over 1000 yards, assuming Brown gets back and doesn’t miss too much more.

    Evans 90 rec, 1205 yds, 17 TDs
    Godwin 202 rec, 1263 yds, 7 TDs
    Brown 81 rec, 1126 yds, 11 TDs

That’s the projections with 17 games each except Brown at 14 games.
    Simply awesome.

  7. ModHairKen Says:

    Can’t they sign him now?

Jason Licht, find a way. This offseason is going to be interesting once again.

    @David

Did you mean 102 for Godwin? lol

    202 seems a bit high 😉

    “Can’t they sign him now?”

No point this time around. The cap was reduced for this season, and next season it is supposed to get a big boost.

So, in this one instance…it makes more sense to wait.

    “planing”?

  12. Sport Says:

This will be the toughest off-season in Bucs history.

    Aging awesome vets.

    Homegrown heroes.

    Reclamation projects rekindling glory.

And a salary cap we bumped up against last year.

Not to mention coaches and front office staff….

    Oh Boy…..

    In BA I Trust!

  13. Eddie Marz Says:

Giovani has to go. He’s not lived up to his expectations at all. Give Vaughan a chance to fill that role. GO BUCS!

  14. Buczilla Says:

So far so good and if he stays healthy, I think that Licht will find a way to sign him. Gotta stay healthy though as that’s my only knock on the guy. Considering our receiver history, we are being spoiled to death right now and I’m loving every minute of it. 😜
