Bruce Arians Not Totally Happy With Blowout

October 24th, 2021

Wanted more points.

Fans were likely irked today, despite the Bucs’ blowout win, that the team should have scored 20 points more.

Joe sure was uncomfortable with how many opportunities the Bucs left on the field offensively.

And apparently, so too is Bucs Super Bowl-winning coach Bucco Bruce Arians.

Per NFL Network Bucs reporter Sara Walsh, Arians thought the score should have even been more lopsided than 38-3.

He’s right. The Bucs should have toyed with 60 points.

This was a big win, all NFL wins are big. But the offense failed to seal the deal several times and the defense got gouged for 143 yards on the ground — that’s twice in the past two games the Bucs have allowed opponents 100 yards or more in rushing.

Against the slimy Saints, the Bucs have to finish red zone drives.

Who was the genius that called for Rojo in the RZ?

  2. alton d green Says:

really missed AB and Gronk. Tom only completed 55% of his passes. what if he’d completed 75 or 80?

  3. Mike C Says:

And the Saints run the ball.

  4. Bird Says:

Joe – you called it when you said 6 or 7 tds. It didnt happen but should have
    That was a beat down

If you watched post game, brady admitted he missed to many throws.

Oh and justin fields just fumbled the soap in the shower and got sacked getting on the bus

  5. Francisco Guzman Says:

Meh. The bears suck. Next week will be a big test. Have to come out and execute very well.

  6. gp Says:

    Newsflash!!!
Brady benched in 38-3 win against the Bears!!!

    C-mon people, lets get real!

  7. Craig Says:

Just think of all the film time the Saints are going to have. They’ll be marking how bad Brady is in the red zone, all the way up to game time, when he again shows why the Bucs were the best red zone team in the league.

I am not all that worried, at the moment. 35-3 at the half, Brady could have put on his street clothes at the half and all would have been fine. Maybe we could have even had a Trask sighting.

  8. DBS Says:

Here is a Newsflash!! The Bears were stopping most of the long offensive drives. And once again The Bucs had a hard time putting points on the board in the second half.

  9. Buc4evr Says:

We needed Vea inside the one , not RoJo. What was BL thinking?

  10. JimmyJack Says:

Buc4evr…….I would assume we have a handful of VitaV plays we are practicing for……..Its probably not the best idea to use one of them when your up by 5 TD.

I am with Craig……Im betting in a blowout game like that the playcaller is going to be careful what hes putting on film for other teams to study and prepard for.

  11. PassingThru Says:

It’s true, Brady was too pumped after hitting 600 career TDs. He was uncharacteristically overthrowing too many passes.

  12. Tampabaybucfan Says:

The last two games we scored a grand total of 3 points in the 2nd half……regardless of the game situation and final score….that’s simply unacceptable…..

    The Bears were 3-3…..how, I sure don’t know……but they were our bitche$

  13. Redsox/Bucs1 Says:

Why would they ever give the ball to Jones in short yardage. He’s an awful short yardage runner.

  14. JimBuc2 Says:

I think Nagy did his QB’s confidence no favor leaving him to wilt under the Buc onslaught. This time the stage was too big for a rook. Every camera closeup showed a clearly shaken and rattled young man. I don’t mind, in fact, I enjoy when this happens to a vet; looking at you drama queen Rodgers, but watching Fields get savaged brought stirrings of pity. Nagy was wrong to let that happen. Should have had mercy and put in Dalton, he’s used to beatdowns.
    LFG Bucs

  15. TennesseeSuperFan Says:

I get the feeling when they’re stomping teams in the ground the play calling is not the same as what got them to that point. It’s like you can feel them easing up on the gas Lucky they got out of NE with the win after easing up. Today that was the worse Bear team I’ve ever seen play the Bucs. We could’ve ran out of gas and still not lose this one today

  16. Bird Says:

Bears beat the bengals and raiders
    Look who bengals just beat

Now bears had some guys out. But so did we

    Great win
Fields will be awaken out of sleep tonight thinking he is getting hit

  17. Rod Munch Says:

Brady gets benched in the 4th quarter after only passing for 211 yards? No wonder he’s upset.

  18. firethecannons Says:

ROJO is incapable of busting through or over a line–for example he lost us a touchdown in the superbowl and now again today–keep running ROJO into 3rd and 1 and then 4th and 1 and keep getting nothing to show for it!

  20. Mike thimas Says:

Over a 100 yards last two games……. Hmmm LVD …… need him back

  21. gotbbucs Says:

Brady isn’t quite the same QB without the Gronkowski security blanket. Brate and Howard just aren’t on any kind of a wave length with Brady.

  22. gp Says:

    gotbbucs
    Its working!
That’s exactly what we want the rest of the league to believe as well!

  23. David Says:

There were a couple times when Brady and a receiver were not on the same page.
There were a few times when Brady just made a bad throw and at least one time I saw him make a bad read.

It’s nice when your QB throws for a couple hundred yards, 4 TDs, 0 ints….
and he had an “off” day 😂

  24. stpetebucsfan Says:

We are clearly among the NFL elite. One might even say the defending champions. IE until someone else wins the Lombardi the BUCS ARE THE SB CHAMPS!

We have played like an elite team. We’ll get our first real test next week in New Orleans. Fameis and Sean and the Saints will definitely be ready for us as the battle for home field advantage in the playoffs begins in earnest. It should be a great game!

  25. JimmyJack Says:

St Pete….PREDICTION…….1st play out pass pick 6. Can you guess who is the QB?

  26. gp Says:

    stpete
    Disagree, Rams beat us, remember?
I do agree that the Saints will be yet another test of whether we are the real thing or not.
And Sean would like nothing better than to knock us down a notch!

  27. gp Says:

We can handle them, I have no doubt

“really missed AB and Gronk. Tom only completed 55% of his passes. what if he’d completed 75 or 80?”

He was definitely off this afternoon. But he has himself to blame. Instead of ignoring Brate the past 2 years, he should have been getting use to how the guy plays. Brate is a great TE, but Brady always seems to miss him.

Maybe it’s a height issue, because Brady does throw high a lot…and Evans and Gronk are tall. I think Brown is too, but don’t call me out on that.

“St Pete….PREDICTION…….1st play out pass pick 6. Can you guess who is the QB?”

I’m not a gambling man, but that won’t happen.

First play is always a run play when Jameis is QB 😛

  30. Bucschamp Says:

Tom forgot Howard isn’t gronk. That low and high pass was so common back in NE. Otoh the chemistry between Tom and mike is growing. Tom threw the ball and mike wasn’t even looking, when he turned around boom td

  31. Purplepirate Says:

Once they got the big lead, they abandoned any semblance of a game plan and tried to make every play a spectacular 30 yard plus pass play. Basically they were trying to put on a show for the fans.

  32. TOM Says:

Leftwich should be on the disappointing Bucs. Terrible play calling.

  33. guinness8 Says:

Missing Lavonte David is why our run defense is suffering.
