Saints Have Tom Brady’s Number

October 31st, 2021

Saints voodoo.

Tom Brady may be one of the safest quarterbacks when it comes to turnovers, but he’s sloppy when playing the slimy Saints (at least as a Bucs quarterback).

In last year’s two games against the Saints, Brady had a total of five picks. His killer pick-six late in today’s game along with his two first-half turnovers led to 16 points and that’s all the slimy Saints needed with the New Orleans defense playing the way it did.

Now to be a little bit fair to Brady here on his first-half pick, Joe isn’t sure if Tyler Johnson ran a wrong route or Brady made a bad read or what. Fair or unfair, Brady gets tagged with the pick.

On Brady’s fumble, Cam Jordan bull-rushed Tristian Wirfs into Brady. Still, Mr. TakeCareOfTheBall should have held onto it. A couple of years ago if that very same play happened to Mr. Entertainment, America’s Quarterback, Pro Bowler Jameis Winston, people would have skinned Jameis for being so reckless.

And it wasn’t like Brady was particularly sharp before he started turning the ball over. He had Mike Evans wide open on the right side that would have been a touchdown after Evans got past Marcus Lattimore and Brady overthrew him.

For whatever reason, the Saints seem to bring out the worst in Brady. In five regular season games against New Orleans since Sean Payton has coached the slimy Saints, Brady has nine interceptions.

Very Jameis-like.

    Refs* have Tom Brady’s number.

Fixed it for you. Gholston literally gets his helmet ripped off but they call a roughing the passer on him.

This game was fixed from the start.

  2. Natron Says:

Brady looked like Jameis out there today, didn’t see this coming

  3. bucfanforever Says:

Saints have the referees’ bank account numbers and are generous.

  4. firethecannons Says:

BS! Brady brought us back to being ahead–the defense pissed this entire game away against a 3rd string quarterback!

  5. Medicated Pete Says:

Saints have a better head coach than the Bucs. This team is the same old bucs w/ o TB12

  6. Zzbuc Says:

Joe what’s going in with you?!!!

    What are you talking about???

    Jesús H Christ!!

He took us to be Champions Sir!!!!

  7. Francisco Guzman Says:

This team has talent but brutal coaching. 11 penalties there’s your game.

  8. Francisco Guzman Says:

This team needs to get healthy and they need to learn how to defend the pass without committing a penalty.

  9. D-Rome Says:

A couple of years ago if that very same play happened to Mr. Entertainment, America’s Quarterback, Pro Bowler Jameis Winston, people would have skinned Jameis for being so reckless.

Jay-Miss still leads the NFL in INTs since 2015 and he was a backup all of last year. There’s a reason why people would have been on Jay-Miss for a turnover. He turned it over all the time.

As I predicted, though for different reasons, Jay-Miss was a non-factor in this game. Penalties tell the real story of why the Bucs lost unlike this article.

  10. ModHairKen Says:

The games wasn’t “fixed”. Losers blame officiating. They got outplayed. Sloppy. Penalties. Turnovers.

  11. Francisco Guzman Says:

Bucs will bounce back but there’s no excuses for this team not to win this division.

  12. Ben the GA Buc Says:

How was Devin White’s tackle of Jameis a horse collar? It was nowhere near the collar!!!

  13. NE2TB Says:

Man, coming from a patriots fan, it makes me sad to read trash like this. Be grateful for what you have, don’t even mention Brady and jameis in the same sentence. Clean it up, this is pretty disgraceful.

  14. TJ Says:

Shut yo mouth and check yo sheet!

  15. cmurda Says:

We all agree that penalties killed us today but how many of those penalties shouldn’t have been called? How many penalties were legit calls? The answer to both questions are too many.

  16. Pelsbuc61 Says:

    Oline got bitch slapped today.

  17. Scottish BucBob Says:

    Exactly Francisco.

  18. Tampabaybucfan Says:

    Medicated Realist….

I knew the true you would show up…..

Penalties, Turnovers & Special Teams…….ruled the day.

  19. Youngbucs Says:

F the saints F these refs!!!

  20. TheBucsAnthem Says:

    Brady = Bad Jameis today

  21. TheBucsAnthem Says:

Also, Payton outcoached the whole bucs coaching staff too

  22. Miller5252 Says:

How many super bowls has Winston won??? Oh that’s right, 0. Comparing the 2 in any way is just crazy. Yes Brady had another horrible game against the Saints, but he could throw another 50 int’s before you could even compare them in that category.

  23. Tampabuscsbro Says:

I feel like a lot of the times one of the joes secretly still wishes americas QB was still the Bucs QB.

  24. Lamarcus Says:

I think Devin White is wild and one of the reasons we lost the game

  25. Buc1987 Says:

ModHairKen…most of the penalties on the Bucs were shown on instant replay….and they all seemed legit to me. I don’t blame the refs for calling what actually WERE penalties.

    Bucs beat Bucs!

  26. Francisco Guzman Says:

Don’t hit the panic button just yet. We will win the division but where the hell is the discipline on this team?

  27. NashvilleBuc Says:

Embarrassing, unsportsmanlike play today. We deserved to lose.

  28. DingleBerry Says:

I’m not usually one to blame officiating, but it was very clearly slanted in favor of one team tonight.

This game was pure malarkey, simple as that.

  29. Patrick Says:

    Whatever. We’re still 6-2.

  30. gp Says:

after Evans got past Marcus Lattimore and Brady overthrew him.
    ***************************************************
Brady overthrew him because he was held by Lattimore.
And that wasn’t the only time
A pull on the arm, obviously changing his pace, and the ref’s can’t see it??????
    Guess they were counting something????

  31. Buczilla Says:

Brady has been hot garbage against this team in the regular season, but was fine against them in last year’s playoff game. We’ll get these bastards when we play em at home. 😜

  32. Kentucky Buc Says:

Lol. Joe really going to dump this at Brady’s feet ? Penalties and more penalties. Some of them absurd. D Whites unsportsmanlike penalty and Cockrells holding call were back breakers but cmon man . You can’t stop Trevor Simien. Sheesh

  33. tampabuscsbro Says:

It seems like a lot of people are haters that are suddenly commenting when we take the first embarrassing loss of the year.

  34. RuKa44 Says:

This team needs to stop celebrating last year’s SB win and start working!
Too many guys believing they are better than they are. Too many guys believing that all that is needed to win us to show up at game time. Too many guys buying into the hype.
Compared to last year, with a few exceptions only, most of our players are playing worse, not better. And our coaches are coaching worse as well.

Maybe a loss just before the bye is just what we needed: live with the stink of a poor loss like this for one extra week!

  35. Sandman Says:

Joe has some low iq posting. Sad

  36. gp Says:

I have no issue when we draw legit calls.
When the ref’s are this blatant there should be an investigation!

  37. adam from ny Says:

it’s ironic that tommy morphed into a jameis, while playing jaboo and the slants…

wait a second, aren’t “jaboo and the slants” a popular blues band on the bourbon street bar scene…

    #BucsGotOwnedAgainInTheBayou 🙁

we might come back from the bye week technically in second place next monday if the saints win next sunday

  38. BucsBro Says:

I thought Tyler made the wrong read on the first INT.

Second INT, safety jumped the route. Gotta be safer.

For the fumble, just get rid of the ball earlier.

Saints setup makes things hard for Brady. Good defense, seem to zone a lot and they put points up (pressure Brady to keep up scoring).

We’ve improved a lot against this team, but still a long way to go. Very disappointed today.

  39. Kentucky Buc Says:

And the Evans overthrow . Lattimore pulls Evans by the arm and slows him for just a second after the balls in the air. Hard to slow that ball down in the air .

  40. cmurda Says:

Exactly gp. All night long every single member of the Aints secondary was holding. That is why our receivers were struggling to get separation. Lattimore is famous for holding ME. Refs turn a blind eye. Oh, they called the one that Evans caught. Did you see that? Throw the flag so it looks like we are fair. We didn’t just lose because of the refs but the Aints couldn’t have won without the favorable calls.

  41. Bosch Says:

Agree with everything dingleberry said. Plus the miss to Evans occurred due to PI that wasn’t called. The back to back roughing calls were egregious. Judgement calls definitely favored the Peyton Punks. 10 straight wins following the bye then 3 more in post season.

  42. BucsBro Says:

Before the Pick Six, Brady’s QB rating was 132.2 or so. A great day.

After the shaky start, he locked in.

Sadly, he failed at the end.

I thought Evans slowed down on the route before the Pick Six. Brady seemed unhappy on the play.

  43. Miller5252 Says:

The Bucs do deserve to get hated on today. Do I think they’ll win the division… yup. But every time the Bucs have lost in the last 2 years the same problems continue to be their downfall. They have to clean this up and start playing clean football if they want to make it 2 in a row. End of last year on their run, it’s exactly what they did. Played PI clean games with smart plays and good defense.

  44. TJ Says:

    Goat who?

  45. BucsBro Says:

Kentucky Buc — I agree, thought Evans got slowed up on the play where Brady overthrew him. Like AB got held up on the INT Brady threw in that game (Philadelphia).

  46. Oxycodoms Says:

Cameraman caught brady and leftwich talking about the crossing route looked like saints were ready for it

  47. Listnfrmafar Says:

The last int meant nothing, once Johnson dropped the 3rd down pass it was over. This offense is.nothing without AB & Gronk, excluding Godwin. Evans short armed that last pass by Brady, he heard footsteps and the 1st pass that looked like an over throw he was held by Lattimore. How is it remotely possible to only have 2 penalties for 20 yards for Saints and Bucs 11 for 120? Payton has BA’s number and BL & Bowles as head coaches are a joke. The throw back from Lenny and 2 point play were jokes. Why would you take the ball out of Brady’s hands. Cockrell should be in the ,NFL & White should shut his mouth and sit the next game, put Minter in. FYI Joe, Brady threw 4 tds for 375 yds. Does.he have to coach, tackle, defend passes and block. FYI all you Smith haters, Donnie best lineman today. I take back my HOF vote for Evan’s, he is average. WOW!

  48. adam from ny Says:

things that lead to gloom & doom at guavaween on bourbon street:

    – 3 brady turnovers

    – 11 penalties

    – giving up 152 yards rushing

    – out coached

    – relaxing a week before the bye week, so to have an extended vacation

  49. D-Rome Says:

The sad and funny thing about this article is that it was probably written in advance in the event the game went this way.

  50. NPRbuc Says:

Heartbreaking to lose to a 3 rd string, journeyman QB. I have to believe if Jamieis stayed in it would have been even worse. Tackling? What tackling? Getting separation on route? What separation? Hopefully our 100 coaches will be able to dissect this film and straighten this mess out. Everyone has bad day at the office but usually the whole department. Haven’t seen so many hankies thrown since Old Yeller. My God what a mess we showed the nation tonight. I have faith we will bounce back but this gag producing.

  51. adam from ny Says:

you gotta realize the nfl wanted the slants to win today…

all calls went basically their way…

they want a tight finish between these 2 teams because it’s good for the league, tv and fans…

no worries, we pull away from these lame fuggs once they come visit us at ray jay…

by then we’ll be a game or 2 ahead of them, and with a victory at home we will create more space…

worst case scenario, the race for the division gets pretty tight – and that’s what the nfl wants

  52. Thisisouryear!! Says:

Yes Brady was off but the beloved America’s QB did that every week. If Brady played like America’s QB every week, fans reactions would be very different. He has slightly over .5 interceptions per game. Give him a pass.

  53. adam from ny Says:

tom brady voodoo dolls are now being sold on bourbon street by street hustlers that hock sh!t

  54. Bosch Says:

Adam I agree with everting you said except for relaxing. They played hard

  55. Tbtb12 Says:

    I agree with you, Joe

  56. Beeej Says:

Saints had 150 yards on the ground.

  57. Rod Munch Says:

The Bucs were going to lose to the Saints at some point this season, so best to get it out of the way now.

If the Bucs had gone 2-0, and lets say face the Saints in the 1st round of the playoffs, is anyone dumb enough not to see what would have happened?

I’m mad that the refs decided the game, but I’m not terribly mad at the lost since I expected it. I also expect the Bucs to be fine.

Saints had 150 yards on the ground.

    ———

Well Winston, alone, was on-pace to rush for 160 yards when he was injured. So the Bucs slowed down their pace.

  59. Rob Says:

Yes, the Saints have a great defense and Brady hasn’t played his best against them, but come on Joe. This is a manipulative story to rile up your readers. The guy threw 4 TDs and we were in position to win. Our defense let us down and Brady’s 2 minute magic isn’t 100%, especially in a hostile stadium on the road against a great defense. We’re 6-2 and will get healthy over the next two weeks. Brady will play great towards the end of the season and into the playoffs when it really counts.

  60. Izod Says:

Even Jameis wasn’t nearly as “Jameis-like” until BA and BL came along.

Sean Payton is arguably the best coach in the NFL. He’s not going to be outsmarted by the Bucs “brain” trust.

  61. JimmyJack Says:

Fair criticism. Loved Brady throwing 4 TDs and for a load of yards but when you gag up the football 3 times you are going to have a hard time beating good teams.

2 minutes left. We were down by 2. Brady is expected to win that game. He screwed up. It happens. We will get a rematch……And lets clean up the pentalties, get healthy and hit our peak for the playoffs.

  62. Captain Dan Lawrence Says:

Could that number be directly related to the fact that ridiculous calls on the BUCS, and no calls when the Aints commit penalties could affect how close the games are? The officials should be given a competency test,… And maybe check their diapers!

  63. Architek Says:

    Refs
    Discipline
    Injuries

Not sure you can correlate having someone number with all these variables out the control of the greatest QB ever.

  64. Lefty Says:

Everyone banging the Payton drum as such a great coach…Around the 2 minute warning- why in the f does he throw 3 straight times inside the the 10 to even give the Bucs a chance to get the ball back? Good coach, but cocky A Hole that is a legend in his own mind.

  65. Tc Says:

I don’t know why no one was giving the Saints a chance. They might have lost some good players but they are a dangerous, talented and well coached team that beat our butts twice last year and embarrassed us at home. Folks, they beat us with a back up Qb.

  66. LakelandSteve Says:

If it wasn’t for Brady leading us back in the third and forth quarters we never would have even been in the game. Stupid penalties and some questionable penalties killed us. The three turnovers didnt help, but what happened to our defense. Not one turnover in the game and the one we got was nullified by a penalty. Everyone including you Joe can try and blame this on Brady but this was a team loss not just the QB. It just wasn’t the Bucs day. Every year there are games like this. Hell, last year we got blown out twice by the Saints and no one gave us a chance. So now all the media has two weeks to jump off the Bucs bandwagon and the Bucs will have a chance to look at themselves and right the ship. I still see us winning it all this year.

  67. Ohta Says:

He had 4 TDs and 300+ yards. What more is he supposed tod
Do? His defense is paper and he had to fight against obviously biased refs.

  68. Scott Says:

All teams have a bad day now and then. Bucks defense could have been better. The little name calling on Brady isn’t necessary. Bucks will improve as they go along just like last year. They got to stay healthy.
