Report: Tom Brady And Bucs Will Discuss Contract Extension After Season

October 4th, 2021

New deal after season?

Lots to come out of one story but here goes for Joe:

Per heavy metal-headbanging NFL insider Jason La Canfora at CBS, who apparently has spoken with several sources about this, the Bucs hope to hammer out a contract extension whenever the 2021 season ends with salad-bar-hating, park-violating, home-invading, NFLPA-ignoring, down-forgetting, handshake-stiffing, jet-ski-losing, biscuit-baking, tequila-shooting, smartphone-phobic, waffle-grilling, trophy-throwing, roller-coaster-scared, numbers-rules-peeved, helmet-tossing, football-punting Bucs-Super-Bowl-winning quarterback Tom Brady.

Brady is currently under contract through the 2022 season. He will turn 45 in August and playing at that age has been his short-term goal for years.

There is no sign or suggestion that he wants to shut it down, La Canfora types.

… Team and league sources indicated that all parties are prepared to restructure and extend his deal again in 2022, should he not retire. There have been zero indications from Brady to any coaches, teammates, associates or anyone in his inner circle that he is even considering shutting it down next year, and barring injury there is every expectation that he will be back next year and thinking about playing even beyond his age-45 season. Brady continues to produce at an amazing level for his age, he thoroughly enjoys the Tampa area and has told others that he believes he has multiple seasons still in him.

During the hype of Brady-Bill Belicheat last week, (the vast majority of which Joe found a way to ignore and avoid) it was clear from one guy who used to work with Brady that Brady is very happy in Tampa playing for Bucco Bruce Arians.

Former Belicheat henchman Michael Lombardi joked that you cannot turn on TV these days without seeing a commercial featuring Brady or foot-rubbing, car-littering, film guru Rob Gronkowski. The Bucs apparently are allowing him to grow his brand, Lombardi said on his podcast “GM Shuffle. (And that growth indirectly helps the Bucs).

That practice by individual players was very much frowned upon by the Master Frowner himself, Belicheat.

Also, author Seth Wickersham, who typed a book about the Belicheats, claimed on “The Rich Eisen Show” that Brady’s confidant and trainer Alex Guerrero actually has an office at One Buc Palace.

In New England, Belicheat banned Guerrero from team headquarters.

50 sounds crazy but i can see him rocking till about 48…

    hell yeah…

i went to a doctor at 40 and said “doc i feel like sh!t”…

he said “you’re still young, it’s all down hill at 50″…

personally i’d say it’s all down hill at about 48-ish…

lock one tom brady in for a few more years…

let him play 5-6 years in tampa…

let him be a buccaneer man…

it’ll never trump 20 with the pats, but 6 years in tampa is a nice run too…

  2. Zzbuc Says:

Love the guy, i will always be thankfull for everything he brought to TB, but please you need to be more accurate than yesterday!!

  3. Bird Says:

This will not make members of the cult happy

Did you see them come out last night with brady struggling. I mean these losers are hoping bucs lose. And would rather have the former qb under center
    Clown show

Bucs14 And pedro? Who were you before c
    Guessing bucs14 was ndog
All these new poster names bashing brady 😂
Hey – he did not have a good night. And injury after injury did not help
You think we win that game w the former
Nope – we never did and have 5 years to show that

And karen poster of the year is naplesbucfan
Dude – maybe watching games is to much for you or have you just not turned 12 yet?

  4. VSyl Says:

It was an off game for Brady, but for expected reasons. He saw everything on the field already, but that experience was a first for him. Ofc he was shaken. Everything will be normal from now on

  5. Anonymous Says:

Guys the rain played a huge role in that game and that clearly screwed over the Bucs and took away their specialty. Brady played for the most part a solid game, and his run for the first down was gutsy and insane to say the least.

This man is our franchise QB and lets be honest he’s also the GM and should be the offensive coordinator.

I will take Brady at 46+ over any of the rookies and Kyle Trask.

  6. Bruce Blahak Says:

..glad the hype train is over. Can focus on football again. Should be on the phone looking for cb trade today Jason?

  7. Buc50 Says:

That ball was wet. Can’t throw over the top like that with a wet ball and expect to have success. We needed higher percentage passes to keep our defense off the field. The kind of passes that were called for Mac Jones.

  8. SteveK Says:

Get this done. It’s a no brainer. LFG

  9. SB~LV Says:

Squeezing more cap space for bringing in a DB in a trade

  10. DoooshLaRue Says:

Yes, TB had an off night but don’t blame the rain.

What was rookie Mac Jones’s completion percentage on the same field last night?

  11. SB~LV Says:

Bellicheat had the game balls over inflated last night 😜

  12. Buc50 Says:

Mac Jones was throwing against Uber Drivers and throwing short passes. He got the ball out extremely quick.

  13. Tampabaybucfan Says:

We had 3rd & 5 & 3rd & 6 all night because of poor playcalling…..and, instead of short passes chose to throw downfield…….we needed to move the chains on that last drive and didn’t….leaving 2min on the clock……very bad calls…
Some of this was on Brady choosing his targets…..not enough use of our TEs was also a problem……

But, out defense, led by Richard Sherman got us a win…….2 turnovers, 4 sacks, minus 1 yards rushing & giving up only 17 points……hooray!!!

  14. SteveK Says:

Vita Vea is an all pro refrigerator. Good luck stopping that man, he’s huge, athletic, twitchy, explosive and strong. He’s a mountain on skates.

  15. Buc50 Says:

Agreed TBBF…play calling on that last drive was terrible. Even Brees commented at halftime that we needed more over the middle play calls.

  16. Listnfrmafar Says:

How can you say off game for Brady? He went against a coaching staff that knew his weaknesses for 20 yrs and still prevailed. 5 count them 5 dropped passes at key points in the game where they hit the receivers in their hands. Oh missed chip shot field goal, first kickoff out of bounds, stupid penalties AGAIN, a reffing crew clearly got call from Vegas strong arms. Brady, Lenny (less the dropped pass) , Oline and Def front 7 (-2 yds rushing), everyone else SUCKED especially coaches (exposed). Evan’s most overrated WR on the team, can’t stand watching run the wrong pattern at least once a game. COACHING period almost lost this game. Every coach in the NFL now knows the formula to beat the Bucs but Bucs coaches won’t mix it up. That might be the best coached game Belichick ever had.

    @Zzbuc Says:
“..Love the guy, i will always be thankfull for everything he brought to TB, but ..”
    —————————
    ..ditto !
i left out the second part u post….he was in tremendous pressure, he even admitted “his eyes got wet”.
he has brought joy in our area, hope, success.
    We love u TB12.

  18. Gerry Billingsley Says:

Tom Brady is still the greatest quarterback of all times, Boston should consider it a privilege to have had him for so many wonderful years. Now then and always a loyal fan of the goat “ Tom Brady”, following him now with the Buccaneers.

  19. alton d green Says:

adam from NY. I see it going downhill after next week if they don’t do something about the secondary hahaha. I’m sure you’ve all thought what would happen if Tompa has a bad game and can’t carry the team. Well, you ALMOST found out last night. That’s what i recorded the game hahahha

  20. VSyl Says:

Come on, the defense played very well yesterday, even more when considering the injuries. Multiple turnovers, sacks and pressures. Don’t be mistaken, that rookie Mac jones played very well.

  21. Aceofaerospace Says:

We won a type game that we always lost in the recent past. All the other stories are just fluff.

  22. 163doubleplay Says:

Without Brady and the type of games we played so far, the bucs will be 0-4

  23. HomerSimpsonRocks Says:

Draft some more DBs and RBs.

  24. stpetebucsfan Says:

@SteveK Agree completely about Vea. And kudos to Collinsworth for pointing out that Vea wiping out two Pat OL made a sack possible.

    “the Master Frowner himself, Belicheat.

Yeah I think the word is dour…but his son enjoying some nepotism and coaching the LB’s is even worse. The words for Belicheat Jr…Butt Ugly!!!

  25. Kentucky Buc Says:

These are grinder teams. It’s always going to be ugly just like the Giants last year. Add in a downpour.

  26. Chris@Apple Roof Cleaning Tampa Says:

Both Vita Vea and Joe Tryon are both Ex Washington Huskies.
It was awesome to see Vita Vea occupy 3 guys, as Tryon ran straight into a Sack of their QB.

  27. Buc1987 Says:

    Why draft Trask so high?

  28. Nathanel72@gmail.com Says:

@AdamfromNY true enough 6 or 7 will never trump 20 years in New England but the flip side with much better talent on offense can try to half those super bowls …one down already

  29. Hopedieslast Says:

Brady yesterday had a lot going on in his head. There was a lot more to it than anyone thinks in my opinion. I think it was a lot more emotional for him than he thought it would be. It looked like he was trying a bit too hard at times and not just doing what he does best. Not too mention that rain just would not end. I’m so thankful to have this man in Tampa.

All in all, I’m hoping he stays with the Bucs even after his career as a QB. I can see him coaching. Hell he already coaches most of the players on the team and he’s by far the best mentor I’ve seen in the league. Everyone thought Mr.Brown would be a mess for the team when he got here. Brady is holding down the fort and bringing the team together. He was horse not too long ago and I think he was yelling at the team. Idk I guess we will see.
