“It Gives Him A Chance To Practice Differently”

October 1st, 2021

So the Bucs are coming off a game in which the mighty Tampa Bay offense was strong but not operating at full tilt.

Handoffs were useless. Receivers were hard to find in the end zone. And the Rams took plenty away.

It seems this year, versus in 2020, Tom Brady is in much better position to address issues in practice after tough loss.

In addition to now mastering the playbook, Brady has the health to drive him to new heights and focus.

“On a serious note, he feels better [this year],” quarterbacks coach Clyde Christensen told the Buccaneers Radio Network this week. “I just think he feels healthy. I think last year was just more, you know, having tape on and never just feeling 100 percent. …I think this year it’s just more he feels great and it gives him a chance to practice differently. But I think just mentally, I think just mentally that [he] just feels better.”

Christensen went on praise Brady’s pocket movement and suggested that while he moved great in the pocket last season, improved health is making it better/easier this year.

Yes, Brady had offseson knee surgery on a mysterious injury that allegedly affected him all last season.

Joe was intrigued to hear Christensen reference how Brady can practice differently and isn’t bogged down mentally by the discomfort on an injury. That should bode well when/if the Bucs face advertisity this season.

And no, Joe doesn’t consider a tough road loss that breaks a 10-game winning streak adversity.

Knowing what he’s trying to accomplice in this offense has to help also, wouldn’t you think? Last year was on the fly, now he knows what he’s doing. Knowing what you’re doing makes your moves better too.

    Gronk is listed as doubtful.

  3. Rod Munch Says:

Brady lead the team in rushing last week with 14 yards, and he’s on pace for 113 yards and 6 TDs.

He had 6 yards rushing all of last year.

  4. Rod Munch Says:

Another fun fact, Brady is averaging 5 yards per rush, his prior career high was 3.1. Also if he somehow did rush for 113 yards, that would be career high, as well as if he ended up with 6 rushing TDs, that also would be a career high.

So yeah, Brady is evolving to keep up with the kids and is becoming a rushing threat.

  5. Cannon Says:

Admit it… you hold your breath each time Brady runs.

  6. Jason Says:

They should add a couple of designed trots for Brady to the game-plan. Lol.

Need to put Gabbert in for the kneel-downs at the end of games……help Brady with his YPC….

Injuries + 32 ranked pass Defense+ weak pass rush = Adversity for the Defense

    GO BUCS!!!!!

The Rams are an excellent, well-coached team with no identifiable weakness. I think they’re adversity personified.

The biggest problem for the Bucs is the Bucs.

Injuries + 32 ranked pass Defense + weak pass rush = Adversity for the Defense

The Bucs have not played anything near a clean game yet.

Would be nice to see a clean game this week and win without a bunch more injuries.

    GO BUCS!!!

  13. GOATWatcher Says:

You remember maybe three years ago Brady rushed . for 8 yards for a first down, barrelled into the tackle for the extra yards, and gave a Cam dab to close the deal. Turn him loose.Let Brady be Brady. Belichick isn’t game planning for that.
