The Secret Sauce To Winning

September 13th, 2021

When not to throw picks.

Sometimes, Joe can’t imagine ever fully grasping the magnitude of Tom Brady’s impact on the Bucs until he’s done playing.

And here is an example.

A lot of chatter today in NFL circles is how Mr. Entertainment, America’s Quarterback, Pro Bowler Jameis Winston, threw five touchdowns without a pick in his debut as the slimy Saints starting quarterback.

Of course, he did this in Florida (Jacksonville) against the Packers. Drama queen Aaron Rodgers regularly melts down in the Florida sun so the Saints whipping up on the Packers should not have been a huge surprise for those who pay close attention.

However, Packers long-time beat writer Rob Demovsky, in pointing out one reason why the Packers lost, may have lifted the veil on why Brady and the Bucs ran the table in the playoffs last year.

In short, Brady doesn’t eff up in the red zone.

Notice all three of those teams were playoff teams last season and two faced off in the NFC title game last January.

Of course, one reason Jameis is starting for the slimy Saints and no longer the Bucs was he turned the ball over in the red zone.

So this is something Joe is going to monitor this season: whether Brady can continue to have a clean slate when the Bucs enter the red zone.

But we already have a Red Zone turnover this year.

But we already have a Red Zone turnover this year.

    Not from Brady.

  3. AtlBuc Says:

    You just jinxed that!

  4. Medicated Pete Says:

Rodgers looks sickly physically or mentally or both.

  5. Hawk Says:

It is absolutely indisputable that Brady has had a positive impact on the entire Buccaneer organization. And it is mainly because of the way his attitude.
I am now wondering if Rogers has had a major (negative) impact on the entire Packer organization because of his recent ‘attitude’. A few more games might give us the answer.

I used to think Rodgers would be the next one to step in here, for a couple of years at the end of his career to win a couple SB’s..,,

But that guy seems more and more like a Pu$$y..

  7. Dusthty Rhothdes Says:

Ol Jaboo had a turnover in the red zone yesterday washed away by a bad call and should have probably 2 more with his lolipop throws…..brady is incredible and glad he decided to play his last 10 years in Tampa

  8. Waco Says:

I think the drama Queen just needed to put his hair up.

  9. Coburn Says:

Packers defense just looked terrible to me and saints dominated trenches. Winston had all day to throw to mostly wide open receivers. He made a couple nice deep throws though (again wide open and no pressure, I’d expect most QBs could)

And I don’t see how any of the turnovers can be on Brady this week. He’s been very accurate. We couldn’t ask for anything more.

  11. SlyPirate Says:

    It’s Week 1.

Teams didn’t know what they had/didn’t have going into this game.

I wouldn’t get too high/low on any team at this point.

Can’t wait to see the adjustments teams make for week 2.

  12. Fishhawkbuc Says:

Week one with pretty much zero pre-season for any of the starters. Let’s just “relax”. The season for all teams will come down to health of their players in Dec/Jan.

  13. ocala Says:

I agree SlyPirate…every year people overreact about the PreSeason and then do it again after the season opener.

I still think the Packers are a good team and will win their division which looks awful.
Teams too high on themselves after week one:

    1) Arizona
    2) Philadelphia
    3) New Orleans

Teams too low on themselves after week one:

    1) Tennessee
    2) Green Bay
    3) Buffalo

  14. sauron's eye Says:

Key to the Saints is stop Kamara. Their offense behind him is average. The Packers didn’t stop anything yesterday.

  15. 123UROUT Says:

As Aaron Rodger’s once said….. “R E L A X…… just chill, it’s only the first game…” I remember last year when the Aints Clobbered the Bucs on the first game 38-3, people/pundits already said Brady is done and we ended up winning the SB…. I’m not saying Packers will win SB but you can’t judge a team based on a first game.

  16. Listnfrmafar Says:

123URout, I agree but you have to admit Roger’s has been coming off as a premadona of late. These are pros, I am sure some of the players are done with his drama. Ironic, he kind of looks like a queen.

  17. Jerry R Jones Says:

Don’t worry, eventually the real Jameis Winston will show up.

  18. allbuccedup Says:

I am glad Jameis out dueled whining Aaron. I am going to pull for Jameis except when he plays the Bucs. The Saints are not going to get a very good running game going against the Bucs ( ie Zeke Elliott). So Jameis should have problems hes okay but not Dak.

  19. Rod Munch Says:

The secret to winning is no secret, it literally comes down to scoring more points than the other team. There is no situation where you score more points and still lose.

  20. DavidBigBucFan99 Says:

Yeah Rod not even if you cheat Ala Bellicheat

  21. Kev@Inverness Says:

Let’s put the chatter about Rogers coming to Tampa Bay, post-Brady, to rest.
No way we want that pouting baby here.
