Press Conferences, The Truth And Girlfriend Trouble

September 24th, 2021

Busted!

So the Bucs have an internationally famous, superstar matinee idol quarterback who publicly has confessed that 90 percent of what he says in press conferences is nonsense.

It seems like one of his favorite teammates is having a sudden credibility issue as well.

Earlier this week, Bucs’ foot-rubbing, car-littering tight end Rob Gronkowski went on a show hosted by the Manning Bros. where they sometimes talk about a football game in the background, kind of like you would with friends at the bar on a Saturday while a nondescript Conference USA game on CBS Sports Network is on a secondary TV.

With the Manning Boys, Gronk claimed he doesn’t watch film and gets all he needs to know about defenses from salad-bar-hating, park-violating, home-invading, NFLPA-ignoring, down-forgetting, handshake-stiffing, jet-ski-losing, biscuit-baking, tequila-shooting, smartphone-phobic, waffle-grilling, trophy-throwing, roller-coaster-scared, numbers-rules-peeved, helmet-tossing, football-punting, Bucs-Super Bowl-winning quarterback Tom Brady.

Two days later, after Bucco Bruce Arians playfully threatened to pull all of Gronk’s “vet days” for the remainder of the year for admitting such irresponsibility, Gronk then came clean, or so we thought.

Gronk assured the local pen and mic club that he indeed watches film and that he just got caught up in the “silly atmosphere” of the Manning Bros. late night talk show. (Or is it a late night talk show? Joe honestly isn’t sure what it is.)

In fact, Gronk said he watches film so much his Sports Illustrated covergirl girlfriend Camille Kostek sometimes “throws sh!t” at him because he’s not paying her the proper amount of attention. (Joe doesn’t care what your profession is, that’s not a smart move.)

So we’ve got that cleared up, right?

Ah, ah Gronk, you just stepped in it!

Asked yesterday on Twitter to confirm Gronk’s story that she “throws sh!t” at Gronk because he watches too much film at home, Kostek threw a red challenge flag.

It seems Gronk got caught fibbing. Again.

So what are we to believe here? Someone is fibbing.

Does Gronk watch film?

Does Gronk bank on Brady to tell him what to do?

Is this why Gronk and his family say he only wants to play with Brady?

Will Gronk lose his vet days for the rest of the season?

Does Gronk get carried away on late night talk shows hosted by a pair of football-throwing brothers?

Has Kostek committed what in some states may be considered a domestic violation?

This is all very interesting to Joe.

At the end of the day, this is a vivid example of why Joe is so cynical of press conferences and why, even though something may sound like the honest truth, what is being spoken just as easily and perhaps just as likely could be full-blown fiction.

Maybe as much as 90 percent.

Gronk was just talking sh!t. You know like most of us commenters. LoL.

  2. Mr Bean Says:

Brady watched film. That is all you need to know 🙂

  3. Listnfrmafar Says:

If he doesn’t watch film then how did he give Brady the wink wink when the Dallas linebacker blitzed and Gronk released for Brady to hit him down the middle for the TD?

  4. ModHairKen Says:

Who cares. He’s having fun, and some idiot thinks he means literally every word he said. From his comments, no one really thought she throws things at him. No one really thought he does not watch film.

Slow news week. AB might be out. But maybe not. JPP might be out, but they might have backups who are ready. And does she or does she not throw things at Gronk or was Groan exaggerating or making stuff up in the moment just having fun?

This tells me the Bucs are winning going away.

  5. Razor Ramone Says:

He watches film, it just happens to be Dirty Harry.

  6. Medicated Pete Says:

Scotty Miller has the hottest chick. Former gymnast w/ bubble butt

  7. Pruritus Ani Says:

I will say, after being a fan for so many years, it sure is nice to have these types of “problems”. 😀

  8. B-Bro Says:

I like the thought of messing with the media it’s not like they don’t give the public false information on much more serious even life concerning situations

  9. Nate Says:

Even a player in the media said “Gronk would not know how to bait the cowboys lineman when he seen the coverage” if he did not watch film…might of been Keyshawn or Mcginest….

  10. Cobraboy Says:

Messing with the media, I love it…

  11. Hodad Says:

I’d have a hard time watching film with her in the room! Hubba, Hubba!

  12. Admiral Redbeard Says:

2 TD’s per game. yeah but he’s not. 2 TD’s per game. yeah but his girl said. 2 TD’s per game. yeah but the coach. 2 TD’S PER GAME!!! Gronk, you just keep doing whatever it is you’re doing.

  13. Winny Testaverde Says:

He always toys with the media like he does undersized cbs trying to tackle him. I believe he told a reporter there was a 69 percent chance Edelman would join the Bucs even though it was zero. Speaking of…I believe the Pats will honor Edelman in Week 4 when the Bucs come to town. Just another slight to Brady ( in his mind ) perhaps?

  14. DoooshLaRue Says:

Joe watched a lot of daytime soap operas growing up I do believe.

  15. Colin in Canada Says:

Joes, the real story is that Camile posted that she and gronk have been apart for the last two months while they are both working on opposite sides of the country. How has gronk looked while hes away from his gf? Hes looked like the best TE in the NFL!!

  16. Joe Says:

Joe watched a lot of daytime soap operas growing up I do believe.

    Nope.

  17. BRYAN KOHN Says:

Who cares? Gronk gets it done!

  18. Cobraboy Says:

claimed that his babely friend threw stuff at him when he watched film.

What he didn’t say was it was her panties she threw…

  19. Mike Says:

It is probably Gronk does not watch film because he does not need to do it. We know that TB gave detailed tips to all receivers before the SB. Thus they just follow the tips to have a good chemistry with TB. Gronk is the key weapon for TB and should strictly react as TB is thinking.

  20. An Erection for Sacks Says:

“…a football game in the background, kind of like you would with friends at the bar on a Saturday while a nondescript Conference USA game on CBS Sports Network is on a secondary TV.”

I believe that is the most well-described scene you’ve ever given us, Joe.
As I read along, I easily placed myself in that situation with the benefit of your eloquent words.🍻

  21. Jmarkbuc Says:

Whatever he’s doing he should keep doing it.

  22. Darin Says:

Guy’s been great his whole career. Of course he watches film. He likes to play along to the group and audience.

  23. crazybucs_CL Says:

i saw that interview…. he was bored, not willing to talk much, tired…. he was just going along with media clowns….you got to say something, he did. Love it.
Gronk is a masterful of interviews…. having fun even when he was not on the mood. 🥱😜

  24. Listnfrmafar Says:

Edleman is getting honored this week when Pat’s play the Winsten Saints. I’ll bet Gronk throws a little something back at her.

  25. shecky Says:

FWIW, Edelman is being honored this weekend when the Patriots host the Saints.

  26. Greg Says:

Hey Joe…… don’t forget ,,,,, bread sniffing on your Brady diatribe!!

  27. David Says:

Joe… Why are you treating this like a real story? If you saw any of it you know Gronk was just messing around. Moving on

  28. Joe Says:

Joe… Why are you treating this like a real story? If you saw any of it you know Gronk was just messing around.

If he was just “messing around” why were his quotes plastered all over the place? Arians and Gronk fielded quite a few questions about this. Even Sports Illustrated reached out for confirmation (see above story).

  29. BucsCoolade Says:

We covered this in other thread.. manning’s commentary irrelevant and gronks hunny can throw a nice spiral with her undies she just took off.. 😉

  30. Jolly Bucs fan Says:

I couldn’t care less about it. This guy is a first ballot HOFer and perhaps the best TE ever. Whatever he does or doesn’t do it works

  31. Capt.Tim Says:

Gronk is the best TE in NFL history.
What works for him- is all that matters.
I dont care what he watches
But he ought to keep that woman happy.
    Football is just a game.
