Paging Richard Sherman

September 26th, 2021

Wanted.

Is there any doubt the Bucs are trying to sign Richard Sherman now?

The way the Bucs’ defense fully crumbled today after Jamel Dean got hurt and the Bucs had to rely on cornerbacks Ross Cockrell and Dee Delaney, you could see the Rams’ passing attack steamroll the Bucs’ pass defense coming right down Central Avenue.

Over the weekend, Bucs AC/DC-loving general manager Jason Licht reworked Ali Marpet’s contract to free up cap space. Surely that’s going to make room for a new cornerback, whether it is Sherman or if the Bucs have to trade for a corner.

Joe has a corner in mind that may be available. But right now the only team that will cough up a corner will be a team unlikely to make the playoffs (think 0-3 teams) and likely a corner who is in the final year of his contract.

Mayby not a big name but one would hope it’s an upgrade over Cockrell and Delaney.

At this point a card board cut out will be better. Gump drank the gravedigger kool aid and now we look lost in the secondary. Doesn’t help that the pass rush has disappeared. Lots of work to be done. This should be a huge wakeup call. Go get Sherman and trade for another corner before the deadline. Otherwise we’re done.

Should have been signed 13 days ago Loss is on Licht.

  4. bucfanforever Says:

Plus maybe Sherman can show them how to play physical defense. Is the Lynch HOF ceremony soon?

  5. Jerry Says:

You really think replacing one CB is going to make a difference?

  6. Alvin Scissors Harper Says:

Did Dee Delaney play with Delaney and Bonnie?

  7. rrsrq Says:

    His price just went up

  8. Coburn Says:

Jerry unfortunately I don’t. Maybe if they could also find a pass rush at the same time. Feels like our dline is old, Barrett loved his payday a bit too much and out of answers

  9. Adrnagy Says:

Sherman is a beast. With or without speed. Ill take him anytime.

  10. DBS Says:

After watching this defense for 3 games and no pressure on any quarterback consistently? Looks like we need help everywhere.

  11. Greg Says:

  12. Buc king Says:

Jason slipped on not already having Sherman getting ready since game 2…just bad moves on the bucs part

  13. Hodad Says:

Don’t let the plane leave L.A. without him.

  14. TampabayDJ82 Says:

Bucs need Sherman and a trade for a good corner in his prime !! Give up our first round pick if need be !!

  15. Leighroy Says:

Call Ronde while we’re at it

  17. Man Child Says:

Richard Sherman won’t fix all the holes in this secondary, make up for the total lack of Defensive Line push.

  18. Guys bucketlst Says:

I think the weak secondary is why we don’t have the sacks. It just takes that extra second of tight coverage to give the DL time to wreak havoc. Get Sherman!

  19. dmatt Says:

Even with Dean he would not have made a difference. Ball deflected n landed right in ur hands n u drop it. Still playing like a new kid on a pop Warner team. Trust me, Dean is not nfl material.

  20. T REX Says:

Sherman isn’t going to move the needle much at all

  21. Masterlock majic Says:

Its all good 👍 sherman will come

  22. Mickman Says:

May Be a corner familiar with Bowles system..look to the losing Jets

  23. Rob In Land O Lakes Says:

Stephon Gilmore, people. We just need to find a way to pay him….. which good teams can.

  24. Miller5252 Says:

While you’re at it, let’s see if Talib will come back.

  25. Defense Rules Says:

Bucs defensive problems relate as much (if not more-so) to the scheme as to anything else. There were once again gaping holes in coverage that allowed Stafford in this case to simply play pitch & catch with his receivers. If we’re not gonna get pressure, at least cover people instead of letting them run free on the range.

  26. unbelievable Says:

Can Sherman rush the passer too?

    Cuz that’s a bigger problem.

The TEAM is in place for 17 sacks this season…

That’s right. 17 sacks for the entire team.

  27. unbelievable Says:

    *on pace

  28. Weston Says:

Anyone who calls Jason Licht “Gump” needs to walk the plank. We got a trophy. You suck bro…get out. We don’t nee you.

  29. You gotta be crazy Says:

O line needs to tighten up as well… But I think they needed this loss… Sorry but that’s the way it is… Come down off that high horse

  30. Wideleftandright Says:

We dont need to give up draft picks when we have trade material on the roster that’s not being used.
Sher.an may not be the entire answer but he probably wont hurt.
Fix the secondary and then the linebackers can stay closer to the Line of scrimmage and possibly rush the passer instead of covering recievers

  31. Chris@Apple Roof Cleaning Tampa Says:

Sherman will help, but unless we find a pass rush, we are gonna continue to get torched.

  32. Bucschamp Says:

    what are we waiting for?

  33. Bigpollock38 Says:

It isn’t one player on defense that will make a huge difference ,the whole team needs more discipline way to many needless penalties , you can have all the talent in the world when playing a good solid team like the Rams you have to be on your best game!!!!

  34. J$MCSports Says:

I thought we would’ve played one of Safeties we have at CB like Winfield or Mike Edwards and slid Andrew Adams in there next to Whitehead.

  35. Rod Munch Says:

If the Bucs can’t get any pressure like they’ve been doing, and Bowles won’t adjust his gameplan, then it’s not going to matter who we sign short of Deion Sanders.

  36. Swampbuc Says:

This should be a done deal by tomorrow close of business.

  37. adam from ny Says:

    we actually prolly need 2

Is Kenny King available from the Packers? He has made a major contribution to the Bucs already?
