Just Too Many Weapons For A Defense

September 19th, 2021

Party time with Bucs weapons.

Joe just had to laugh at the Bucs ringing up 48 points today. Especially with the Bucs’ offense scoring over 30 (again).

(Joe couldn’t help but think of Barry Switzer when he coached Oklahoma when they just rolled people weekly in the 1970s with Billy Sims. Switzer used to holler to his team before it took the field each week, “Let’s go hang half-a-hundred on ’em today.” The Bucs damn near did that.)

On the Bucs’ first drive of the second half, Tom Brady and the offense toyed with the Dixie Chicks’ defense. Consider who Brady spread the ball around to on the drive:

Mike Evans, Cam Brate, Chris Godwin.

Look who wasn’t targeted: Foot-rubbing Rob Gronkowski, furniture-tossing, bicycle-throwing Antonio Brown. O.J. Howard, Scotty Miller, Tyler Johnson, Playoff Lenny, Ronald Jones.

That’s just an insane amount of weapons. How is any defense supposed to stop all of these guys?

No wonder the Bucs set an NFL record for scoring 30 points a game for nine straight games. Add Mr. Seven Rings with all of those weapons, it’s damn near unfair.

And too effing bad, NFL!

Why he was more than happy to leave NE, WFT Weapons For Tom. They wouldn’t do it for him but since we did it for ATM he figured he had a good chance of getting some here. Plus NO STATE TAXES OR SNOW!!!

Happy to be 2-0 but the FUN games start the next 2 weeks: Rams & Patriots.

I would like all you little kneejerkers to stand up right now with conviction and stand by your own words.

A few of you maroons said to trade Mike Evans. So come on. Stand by your words……..Better yet lets cut Brown as well since he didnt do anything today.

Scotty will be a late season secret weapon I think. Later in season will have some late game heroics with some fresh legs. Barring a trade for a corner

We broke a record today for most games with 30 or more points scored. The previous record was 9 games, today this was 10 games in a row with 30 + points scored!

  8. SOEbuc Says:

Your offense going to have to put up 30-35+ pts to be the Brady.

I can see why Ariana has a problem with Rojo. Avoiding contact needed for a 1st down and missing a key block. Is he soft?

  12. JimmyJack Says:

To make matters worse for RoJo Leonado did a great job today picking up the blitzer. A couple of his blocks were key on bog plays as well.

I think better days are ahead for RoJo but the blocking is going to become a major issue. Protecting Brady is too important.

Toughest regular season game of the year is next week. Beat the Rams and then beat the Patriots….that would start some really interesting conversations about what this Bucs team can do this year.
