Dan Orlovsky Calls Out BSPN Talking Heads Who Prefer Dak Prescott Over Tom Brady

August 31st, 2021

BSPN’s Dan Orlovsky.

Former Bucs backup Dan Orlovsky is not exactly Joe’s favorite NFL analyst. But even Orlovsky couldn’t stomach the nonsense his employer is pushing that Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott is a better signal-caller than Tom Brady.

Yesterday BSPN released its top-100 NFL players. In it, Brady is listed at No. 20. But the shocking part is BSPN has five quarterbacks ranked ahead of Brady, including Prescott, who played but five games last year before wrecking his ankle.

Prescott’s next pass thrown against a team wearing another jersey will be a week from Thursday when the Bucs open the season against the Cowboys at the Stadium on Dale Mabry Highway.

Orlovsky decided to do the unthinkable: He bit the hand that feeds him and unloaded on the list, specifically outraged that anyone would believe Prescott is a better quarterback.

Orlovsky loudly pointed out that Brady will surpass Prescott’s career-best season numbers by Thanksgiving of this season.

You can see Orlovsky out-holler Domonique Foxworth in the BSPN video below.

Foxworth said this and immediately checked himself into rehab, right?

  2. Beeej Says:

Rush Limbaugh touched on the reason for this a decade or two ago, went poorly for him

  3. SufferingSince76 Says:

We shall soon see, won’t we.

  4. Bird Says:

Foxworth and acho snort crushed up paint chips together on the weekends

Havent watched espn in many years after being a once diehard fan

  5. Señor Harry in Costa Rica Says:

Since this is a “right here, right now” list of who is the best, and not a list of who to start a new team with, I would put Brady no lower than #2; and even that is debatable.

Who would you want in one Super Bowl game? Rogers would choke (with Suh running him down…lol). Brady can read defenses better than Wilson, IMO. And Allen, although I think he is awesome, hasn’t gotten there yet. Even Mahomes, as awesome as he is, would run around too much.

Brady, Mahomes, Wilson, Rogers, Allen (Dak is not on this list)

  6. bucfanforever Says:

Umm. Since Dak was drafted, Brady has won 3 Super Bowls, and Dak has won a single playoff game.

This season the Cowboys might be able to topple the mighty Washington Football Team to win the NFC East, while Brady and the Bucs are speculated to have a shot of an undefeated season.

These things aren’t because Brady is the sixth best QB in the league. He’s probably top-5 in the history of athletics.

Dak is probably just a trivia question in local Dallas bars in 25 years.

  7. Pete I Says:

Yep the reason for this is visibly clear. It’s the same reason so many still expect Winston to succeed. Prescott is 1-3 in the playoffs.

  8. Razor Ramone Says:

I love it. This will p!ss TB12 off soon bad!

  9. Bird Says:

    Bucfanforever

    Touche my friend. Nailed it
Brady no question in top 5 discussion of all sports (all time)

  10. Buc50 Says:

Ah the deplorables show their heads early this morning. Dak is not better than Brady end of story.

  11. Richard Dickson Says:

The same Dak Prescott who hasn’t thrown a meaningful pass since Week 5 of last season and who’s been on a leash all pre-season? He’s going to come in and just light it up?

  12. PassingThru Says:

As I mentioned earlier, much of ESPN’s content is like something from an idiotic sports radio talk show. It’s the same recipe: just say something stupid and controversial in order to generate interest. Their old format wasn’t working which is why they’ve had so many layoffs in Bristol, CT.

  13. Stanglassman Says:

Pete I. is making something visibly clear.

  14. Tampabaybucfan Says:

There is far more to being a great Quarterback than throwing the ball…..play on the field is one thing…..but the overall leadership is yet another…Brady is a the top of the list.
What he is doing for the Bucs is immeasurable.

  15. Pete I Says:

Stanglassman is visibly correct but not for the reason he/she/it thinks.

Kyler Murray was ranked right below Brady – what has Murray ever done? Nope pretty clear excitement trumps actual success or perhaps it’s something else?

  16. Ghost of Darrell Henderson Says:

“An ESPN panel of more than 50 experts”

Do they even have 50 employees in the football department?

  17. Kentucky Buc Says:

I guess it doesn’t matter who wins head to head. Dak is king of the garbage time stats.

  18. Steven007 Says:

It would have been more interesting if they’d had deshaun Watson in Prescott’s spot. Watson, aside from his issues is by every metric a better quarterback than Prescott. Much better numbers and at least in the conversation of top tier young quarterbacks in the NFL. But they didn’t mention Watson they mentioned Prescott. Which basically relegates their list to be ridiculous. Don’t get me wrong, Brady should be over Watson even without his current issues. But for the purposes of this silly list that would have made more sense.

  19. Bbro Says:

We all know you’re not *hit without a team around you and Brady takes the play n study of football to the ultimate level. I like Dal but they’re light years apart.

  20. All lives matter Says:

I don’t think Tom Brady gives a rats _ss. He’ll be donning a gold jacket in his first year of eligibility. Prescott may never finish his career.

  21. PassingThru Says:

I doubt that ESPN’s “experts” understood the context of the question they posed. They were supposed to pick the best players for the 2021 season, which means you should prioritize performance over potential, and ignore whether you’re selecting a younger player to lock him up over a longer time horizon. The horizon was supposed to be now; the way the question was answered, I have to think these “analysts” were playing GM and pretending they were building a team for the next 5 to 10 years.

If you love Mahomes are talent, I understand why self-styled analysts would pick him first. But after that, I see no reason to rank the rest of the Island of Misfit Toys over Tom Brady. He’s not as flashy as Mahomes, Rodgers or Josh Allen, but he consistently moves the chains, scores at a very efficient rate, is the most clutch QB on the planet, and takes his teams on very deep playoff runs.

  22. D-Rome Says:

There are reasons why BSPN rated Dak above Brady that have nothing to do with football. Draw your own conclusions there.

  23. Bradinator Says:

I watch pretty much everything I can that has to do with football…except ESPN. Brady= 1st ballot HOFer, Dak= guy we’ll forget about 5 years after his career is over.

  24. Hodad Says:

    Child please.

  25. Infomeplease Says:

DP can only dream of being as good as TB!! He’s going to have to pickup his game that’s for sure! It’s not going to happen this year. Especially Sept 9th when he gets run from JPP, SB, JTS, VV, NS, DW, and LB. He will have a lot of fun I’m sure!! GO BUCS!!

  26. SOEbuc Says:

By a group of analyst’s means the owners and Jerry is the GM.

And Fox is always a dumbass. Speaking of gigantic idiots for ratings, why can’t I find one freakin analyst show without Max.

I’m not sweating it. Brady has said he likes to thrive on all the hate and non believers.

  27. DavidBigBucFan99 Says:

D-Rome just be a man and come out and say what you think it is. Now that the shoe is on the other foot, guys like you whine and cry about the obvious but holler about race baiting when others bring it up to point out the inequities that have been apparent in the NFL since it was founded.

  28. Ben green Says:

I swear to Christ ESPN has an inappropriate relationship with the cowboys and dak. He’s tremendously overrated. I saw him quit on his team during torrential rain at Gillette. I don’t get the affinity

  29. German Buc Says:

Harry, IMHO it’s a small minority of Pats fans now hating Brady. The vast majority still loves TB, and a not-so-small number realized they’ve been fans of their QB, not the team, and also transferred to our beloved Bucs. I’m sure Joe has significant traffic from the Boston area on his little corner of the internet.

  30. Taz Says:

Dak had more passing yards than Patrick Mahomes in 2019 but I don’t hear anyone saying that he is better than him? Tom puts up numbers comparable if not better than Dak, but he also wins games efficiently.

  31. Tackleblockwin Says:

Sometimes crazy people have great ideas, or thoughts. This is not one of those rare occasions.

  32. Pewter report Says:

No drug testing for that company apparently and seems like they are highly encouraged, the harder the drug the better it is for tv who cares about common sense at that network

  33. SlyPirate Says:

    This is easy …

Put Dak on the Bucs and they may make the playoffs. With TB12 they are Super Bowl favorites.

Put TB12 on the Bucs and they make the playoffs. With Dak they are a big maybe.

  34. geno711 Says:

    Listened to the end.
    QBR is overrated statistic.
Espn created it and now act like it is the overall evaluation for QB’s so Brady will never be that high on it because he does not run. But his 7 rings clearly say that QBR is overrated.

  35. David Says:

They want to go buy stats and QBR… Who cares?!?!?!
You go by wins, leadership, Super Bowls.

  36. Buddha Says:

What has Dak Prescott actually achieved? Five years in the league and a playoff record of 1-2. Tom Brady’s first 5 years playoff record, 10-1. Ageism pure and simple.
