”Catch The Damn Thing”

August 18th, 2021

Yeah, lots of drops today at One Buc Palace as the Bucs had a scrimmage against the Tennessee Titans.

Bucco Bruce Arians called the experience great work but didn’t find his offense to be very sharp. Particularly what disturbed Arians was the K-Y fingers of his pass catchers.

”We dropped way too many damn passes,” Arians said.

The head coach was asked about reasons for the drops and he suggested that when it’s not guys like Mike Evans, Rob Gronkowski or Chris Godwin dropping balls, then it’s concerning.

”Catch it. Sh*t. Ain’t no excuse. Perfectly thrown balls, catch the damn thing,” Arians said.

Joe will name names in the forthcoming practice notes (cough, Jaelon Darden, cough).

For those wondering, Godwin caught the ball in the photograph above.

So much for Tyler Johnson’s too many cheeseburgers, fries & key lime pie…..look at that catch!!!

You absolutely must keep a WR who can do that!!!

  2. FIRETHECANNONS Says:

Idk who #3 on the t!ts is, but not a good look for him just going off these two pictures.

  3. The Red Mirage Says:

Coach was right, the amount of drops today was ridiculous. Not to spoil Joe’s practice notes but Darden was terrible.

  4. Biff Barker Says:

    Cheeseburger therapy?

Hey, I’m all in. Great catch Tyler!

  5. Buxszntkt Says:

Wow, would love to see video on the Tyler J catch ! I guess BA was shooting straight when he excused TJ for showing up fat since he started producing quickly . Can’t wait for practice notes Joe ! Who’s dropping the balls ?

  6. SlyPirate Says:

The drops I want to hear about are Shaq, JPP, White, and Tryon “dropping” the Titan’s QBs.

  7. Jaymiss Pick6 Again Says:

I read somewhere else that yesterdy’s practice was a drop-a-thon too. Too early to call it a trend me wonders?

#3 for the Titans was standing on the sidelines, it was 1-on-1 drills.

  11. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    I’m not worried.

Joes, Was just wondering which Joe got the best picture of training camp. Sooorrry.

  13. JA Says:

Darden had a 9.5% drop rate in college (7 in 74 catchable passes). Coming from a small school and league where fear of being leveled by a DB is almost nonexistent, that’s subpar at best. At the NFL level most drops can be attributed to a lack of concentration.
Might be time for a brain reboot if Darden plans to stick around.

  14. Mike Says:

Better to make mistakes in practice than in games. I am sure they will hear about it a lot. I am not worried about Darden. It’s just rookie jitters. He will eventually settle in and be a machine.

  15. John Smith Says:

Cyril Grayson had a great day

  16. Stonedbuc Says:

Tyler Johnson is the real deal. Darden needs to get out of his head. He is tryna make the play before the play even starts. No way Darden doesn’t make the team tho, Watson is definitely gonna miss the cut.

Hate to hear about the drops. It would have been a tough catch but AB had a deep one go through his hands against the Bengals. I have been more concerned about the one series the offensive starters played where Brady gets sacked and it didn’t seem like our O-line was opening up any running lanes for the backs. I know there still is a lot of time before the first game so hopefully these issues don’t become trends.

  18. Steven Says:

#3 is Caleb Farley. He’ll be fine. He’s just now starting to get reps. And, yeah, he wasn’t even in the play for that one play.

  19. FIRETHECANNONS Says:

@kev thanks for the clarification. I thought he had given up on the play lol

  20. firethecannons Says:

Darden will learn from it–good to find out this sh!t now–good for Bucs and good for him

  21. Lamarcus Says:

JA seems to never play football. Silly comment

  22. IrishMist Says:

Jerry Rice had the dropsies his first year. Maybe it’s a good sign.

  23. Ben green Says:

Ben didn’t know you rebels had good picture takers. This one impressed even Ben’s jaded ass. I love training camp because I was on bad highschool and collage teams, so the preseason always felt hopeful. Maybe those bad teams had something to do with Ben. Ah well, Ben got plenty of trim out of it.
