“Run Like You’re A Bad MF”

July 1st, 2021

Joe envisions Bucs center Ryan Jensen being a really fun and eye-opening youth football ocach one day.

Jensen is all about intensity. Heck, Joe remembers bowling alongside Jensen at a Donovan Smith charity bowling event in Tampa soon after he was signed in 2018. Jensen was like 2 1/2 levels too intense on the lanes for what was a chill night for a great cause. Sweating, not cracking a smile and looking at the pins like he wanted to break them in half, Jensen was dialed in.

On the recent In The Current episode at Buccaneers.com, Jensen explored the Ronald Jones 95-yard touchdown run in Week 10 at Carolina.

On the Xs and Os side, Jensen explained that “technically I went to the wrong guy,” which meant sliding up to the safety from his left guard spot. (Yes, left guard). Jensen said he saw the safeties eyes get big, so he realized RoJo made the backside cut and was nearly off to the races.

But more important to Joe, Jensen shared how he counsels RoJo regularly. “I talk to Ro all the time. I’m like, ‘You know, run like your a bad MF. Like that’s what you are. You have to run like that every play.'”

Yes, RoJo is a bad MF, and he turned in the most efficient season in Bucs history for a full-time running back at 5.1 yards per carry.

Now if RoJo can just break a few more big runs and improve his hands a little, he’ll be a crazy-wealthy man after this season — assuming he gets the rock much this season over Leonard Fournette.

ROJO is the best ball carrier for sure.

  2. Bobby M. Says:

There’s something with Rojo that reminds me of Winston. You can see the talent is there, the stats show they can produce but for some reason it just never all comes together.

I believe Rojo is the better pure runner but I think Fournette sees the game much better….he has a better feel for the flow of the offense, route design, etc. All around i think Fournette is the better fit but if Rojo could get the pass catching down, he could be a very dominant back. Time will tell.

  3. Pine Hills Says:

I’m sure they’ll both get their share of carries

  4. JimmyJack Says:

It was the greatest play of the season until Byron called the greatest play maybe in NFL history before halftime!!

  5. JimmyJack Says:

The funnest play came vs the same Panthers team cheaped out and went for a fake rather then man up for 4th and 1. Of course the Bucs stoned them.

Next series just to embarass them we run a flea flicker just to show them whose boss!!!!

  6. sasquatch Says:

I believe he said, “You know, run like you’re a bad MF.”

  7. AKicknTheBucNuts Says:

    Better watch it sasquatch.

You will get jumped on this site for raising english standards.

I too, tried to explain the difference between your and you’re and got called out as “The grammar police” even though in 7 years on this site it was the ONLY time I pointed out someones grammar or spelling mistake. (Which on this site, you could make a career out of pointing out those mistakes).

I got YOUR back sasquatch. Good job. And to hell with all the weaklings who can’t spell, use grammar correctly or are too lazy to proof read their crap. Those weaklings are OK with being dumbed down when they, instead, should pick up a copy of Strunk and White: The Elements of Style.

  8. DavidBigBucFan99 Says:

I don’t see how anybody could watch the regular season and think Fortunate is better than ROJO. ROJO runs with power, authority and decisiveness and Fortunate pitter patters behind the line and runs into players. ROJO would be better at receiving if they threw him the ball more. For a player to wait for the play offs to play hard says you can’t count on him or trust him so it’s not the one to get the ball more.

  9. AKicknTheBucNuts Says:

    Intentionally left it like that.
    Who will notice?

  10. Duane Says:

Rojo better run like one this year, because Playoff Lenny looked impressive doing it in the postseason. He has had tough breaks, but many rbs have developed faster. I think he missed his chance as soon as Fournette was brought back. Two headed running backs dont get paid. Even if Rojo balls out and takes the job outright, hes going to be too rich for the team to bring back.

  11. bojim Says:

Hey bucsnut, so what? Deal with it.

  12. AKicknTheBucNuts Says:

    @ bojim

So you’re saying I should deal with YOUR stupidity because you’re proud to be dumb.

    Got it.

    Will do.

  13. AKicknTheBucNuts Says:

Let’s make this about the Bucs.

Take a look at the logic bojim is using and make it about the Bucs.

Let’s say Bojim is the GM of the Bucs.

When BA saw JW throw 30 pics and fumble a bunch, bojim’s logic as GM would have been to tell BA… “So what? Deal with it”

Thank God, Licht and BA WANTED to improve and raise the standards for that position. And look what happened.

bojim is happy to be dumb and not try to improve himself.

I want you to improve yourself bojim, raise your standards, don’t dumb yourself down. Strive for better. It’s made a difference in my life and it will in yours.

Grammar crusades are like farting at a tornado. Good luck with it!

  15. Buccos Says:

Akickinthebucnuts An interception in football is known as a “pick”, not a “pic” which is a photo you take with your phone. But thanks for edumacating us. We are much better off for it.

  16. Aceofaerospace Says:

AKicknTheBucNuts it’s someone’s not someones. I’m sorry, I couldn’t resist. Love you man. Go Bucs!

  17. Tampabaybucfan Says:

I always thought it should be…..run like you be a bad m[fer…..I’m sure Rojo understands all versions…..and as long as he follow’s the advice…..I’m good with it.

So, it’s like in the movie Idiocracy, where stupidity wins and reduces society to the lowest common denominator.

  19. Beeej Says:

It’s a crime the kid didn’t get his thousand

  20. SOEbuc Says:

Bucs, Brady, and AB robbed him of one thousand yards. That 5.1 yards isn’t a lie He might have got 1,200+ yards with 13-20 carries a game. A team with more of a run game will be very happy to get him if he doesn’t return.

  21. ClwJB Says:

We have a wonderful set of backs 1-3 – best in the league

Power, speed, hands, experience, all bases covered

The amount of talent on the is O in general is just crazy

How about 800 each for rojo and Lenny on the ground and 800 in the air for Gio

Creative play calling and personnel groupings could open up all kinds of possibilities

  22. Dewey Selmon Says:

98 yards, you shorted that MF’er 3 yards lol

  23. SB Says:

I have been busting Joe’s balls for almost 9 years for his lack of proofreading. He knows , I am pretty sure, that that is all I am doing.
Grammer Polise get on me all the time. I pay them no mynd.

  24. SB Says:

You said a mouthful there SOE!

  25. cmurda Says:

You open up Pandora’s box when you start flexing on folks with grammar and spelling. This isn’t an English Literature site. Also, proofread is one word. If you want to piss in Wheaties, at least have your crap tight.

  26. Crickett Baker Says:

This English stuff is hilarious to me. I had just sent a letter to the Mailbag @ the Bucs site asking why no one has ever taught these guys that they should not be saying “you know”, “uhh” and “um”, when talking to the press and fans. LOLOL

  27. Howard Cosell Says:

Idiocracy has arrived. The Eagle has landed.
The butthurt rule all that they survey.

That said, if you’re sweating a your/you’re in JBF comments then yur way too uptight….in Howards humble opinion of course. Howard fully respects your lifestyle choices

  28. Tampabaybucfan Says:

I have worked with a charity for 12 years that helps less fortunate find jobs.

I can tell you for a fact that those who use good grammar get jobs quicker and they are higher paying jobs.

Sure…an athlete or entertainer can speak the way he or she wants and make plenty….

It simply makes good cents to use good grammar…..

    (Anybody catch that?)

  29. SOEbuc Says:

    SB

I stay wit a mouf fulz of da trufe all dizay. They were happy to give AB his tiny incentives and not a single chance for RoJo to get 1,000 yards when we were up 44-27. Ro had 12 carries, 78 yards, 6.5 avg, 1 TD. Season ending 978 yards. Like I said. Robbed. Got five games with 17+ carries. Five 100+ yard games. 4-1

  30. Buczilla Says:

Rojo has gone from downright putrid as a rookie, to above average this past year. He has done absolutely nothing to show that he is a complete back, much less a special one. Do I hope that he breaks out this year, becomes a true mofo, and earns a huge payday? Hell yes! He has a long way to go though and I wish him luck for all our sakes. Derrick Henry? Now that is a mofo.

  31. Anonymous Says:

Lazy to say he got robbed of 1000 yards because Brady went to AB in that game. Rojo missed games due to injuries and COVID. He got pulled after fumbling in two games and lost some snaps because he can’t catch so he missed run opportunities when Brady checked to the run .

  32. August 1976 Buc Says:

If Rojo could catch like he runs, they would not have signed Gio. People can say what they like, but he has not earned the GOATS trust. When it comes to critical downs Brady will not throw him the ball. For as good as Rojo runs, and he is a stud, he is still a liability when trying to make a catch. If he could catch better he would have been on the field more throughout the season and easily gotten a 1000 yards. He also missed a game late in the season because of illness. That is not a slight against him, that is simply what happened. Seems like 22 yards would have happened easily in that game Rojo missed. AB had only 8 games of opportunity to get his numbers, and Rojo had 15 Reg games to get a 1000. All the people that say he should have played more during games, then talk to Brady about that, Brady runs the huddle, not the coaches. If Brady wants a guy in there, the coaches will play said player. Look who Brady had in there for the playoff run. Playoff Lenny was birthed. (Even though Fournette catches only slightly better than Rojo)

I really do not care what the name of the player is when it comes to winning or losing, Just play great and help the team win.

GO BIG BAD AZZ WORLD CHAMPION BUCS!!!!!!

  33. Greg Says:

    @tampabucfan + 1. As a business owner it does make a difference.

The “Grammar police” Yes grammar is a big deal, that goes without saying. lol

    GO BUCS!!!!

  35. SlyPirate Says:

Have to admit, I’m not a Rojo guy.

    1. Adequate runner. His yards are because he had holes and he has good speed. He’s not shifty and doesn’t break a lot of tackles.
    2. Liability blocking but improving.
    3. Terrible hands.
    4. Injury prone.

4Net is the better, more complete back. He’ll be the starter.

  36. Buc50 Says:

“1. Adequate runner. His yards are because he had holes and he has good speed. He’s not shifty and doesn’t break a lot of tackles.”

    ——————

    What???

5.1 yards a carry is not because “he had holes”. He hits those holes faster than Fournette and has much more ability to make people miss.

  37. AKicknTheBucNuts Says:

This is the reason I wrote “Intentionally left it like that.
    Who will notice?”

Good Grammar Catch Awards go to:

Cmurda – Yes. Proofread is one word.

Buccos – Yes. There is a difference between “Pic” and “Pick”. You nailed it.

Areo – Yes. Someones. Not Someone’s.

Good Job! All hope is NOT lost!

Thanks for paying attention. Class dismissed.

    _________

Why not just admit you know nothing abou football. 1…. adequate runner. He’s had entire runs where he broke more tackles than Fournette did all season. Check out his 5:00 highlight video on YouTube. Dude breaks tackles constantly. 5.1 YPC compared to 3.7 for Lenny. 3…. terrible hands. But still Same number of drops as your boy Fournette with a few less receptions. He is marginally worse. 4…injury prone? He’s a RB. he’s missed very few games in his three seasons in the NFL. He plays RB…maybe give your analysis in a different sport because you clearly know nothing about football.

  39. Brandon Says:

Anybody that THINKS Rojo isn’t good, type in Ronald Jones highlights 2020 in the search bar, sit back, watch, then STFU. The dude is very shifty, very quick, breaks a lot of tackles, and is definitely fast.
