Proving The Non-Believers Wrong (Again)

July 4th, 2021

Gunning for history.

Nothing is better than when someone tells you that you cannot do a task — and then you complete it successfully.

Scoreboard!

Well, Adam Rank of NFL.com said last year that is exactly what the Bucs did. People, self-proclaimed experts, claimed you cannot build an NBA-like super team and win in the NFL.

But who proved the naysayers wrong? Bucs AC/DC-loving general manager Jason Licht, Bucs coach Bucco Bruce Arians and park-violating, home-invading, NFLPA-ignoring, down-forgetting, handshake-stiffing, jet-ski-losing, biscuit-baking, tequila-shooting, smartphone-phobic, waffle-grilling, trophy-throwing, roller-coaster-scared, numbers-rules-peeved Bucs quarterback Tom Brady.

Now Rank asks, can the Bucs prove the doubters wrong? Again?

… As your coach so eloquently put it back in March, the 2021 Buccaneers haven’t done [expletive]. That said, a whole lot of players on the 2021 roster just did [expletive]. In fact, Tampa Bay’s bringing back nearly every contributor from last season’s championship squad, including all 22 starters. Some people thought this whole NBA-style “super team” wouldn’t work in the NFL. Those people were wrong. Can Brady’s Bucs make them doubly wrong by becoming the first NFL group to go back-to-back since … Brady’s Pats? That’s the question for the title team that returns everything.

Well, the Bucs already proved they have the talent to win a title. And they have the ultimate leader who happens to be the very same quarterback that last won back-to-back Super Bowls.

The trick here is, how quickly will the Bucs realize they are now the hunted? It’s a huge difference going from hoping you make the playoffs and a few months later every team giving you its best shot.

Being “the hunted” is a nice talking point, but these guys are trying to win every week. It’s a point that doesn’t have unanimous agreement at JoeBucsFan world headquarters. If you go with “the hunted” line, which many ex-NFL players and wise analysts do, then you should name what teams didn’t give their all against the Bucs last season, which defense didn’t try its very best to take out Tom Brady, etc.–Joe

If there’s anyone left out there that doesn’t believe Tom Brady can take the Bucs to another Superbowl & win…..I’d be surprised…..certainly no Buc fans.
    Will he?….who knows…..can he? Yes!!!

Am I the only one who has convinced myself that Brady will stick around til 50 and give us a Super Bowl every year?

    I’m serious… Anyone else?

  4. Mike C Says:

Joe, 100% agree, players that step on the same turf with Tom are automatically aware of his presence, and raise the level of play accordingly.

  5. No Risk It No Biscuit Says:

So if you don’t play the champs, expect 80% effort from teams. Is Joe saying this is why we won the Super Bowl?????

Joe keeps in touch with Realisto. lol

  6. SteveK Says:

This was a talented team, aching for leadership and better QB play (turnover margin). Brady was the missing piece, and we could not have done better. Spend the next 2+ years riding the wave with Brady and serving him w the best possible team around him.

This team is going to be ready, and o hope we are fortunate on the injury front this year.

I think we will get a team’s best sho, but it’s not a big deal. This is the NFL. Challenge accepted. You think TB12 doesn’t get everyone’s best shot?

Go Bucs; go Bolts, and get your mojo back- Rays.

  7. SteveK Says:

What else brings me joy? Not only is winning a championship the best outcome possible, but the way we did it.

Arians asked for TB12 at the combine a couple years ago when Joe hit him w “who?”. Also, look at the league! Look at the other QBs and organizations that are at odds bc they see how Brady/Bruce/Bucs are a great partnership; Brady has tremendous clout and influence. He will want to maximize all the time he has playing and go out lighting the league on fire. I hope we can protect him and he will pick everyone apart.

We have our general, keep his uniform clean!

99, etc., that’s a great dream, but just a dream nonetheless.

  9. August 1976 Buc Says:

The common (garbage) wisdom is that you get every teams best shot. lol lol. So like Joe has stated multiple times, the media and others seem to have left the brain by the roadside.
When GOAT Brady is in town baby, there is no opponent giving their “B or C’ effort. They are too afraid of getting embarrassed.
That is just crazy thinking on the part of so many that have not really thought out comments like “they are the hunted, or the bulls eye is on your back”
And what about the fact that the Bucs Defense will have a lot harder practices daily against this Brady led offense, than most all games they will play against opponents. ( With the exception Mahomes possibly in Super Bowl 56 ) What Bucs opponent this year has a QB that even remotely compares to Brady.
The Bucs are the current measuring stick right now in the NFL, so if the players stay focused, keep it 1 day at a time, and play after play each player whip the man in front of them, game in and game out they will be just fine. That is how you have an immortal season of 20-0, The Dolphins went undefeated in their era, now it is the Bucs turn in the 17 game reg season era..

GO BIG BAD AZZ BUCS!!!! 20-0 to Cap a 28-0 Run BABY!!!!!!

Well the Lions didn’t. They tried to lose by 40
