Bruce Arians Loves To Chew Out Rob Gronkowski

July 28th, 2021

Professional.

Don’t be mistaken, Bucs Super Bowl-winning coach Bucco Bruce Arians said today. While foot-rubbing, car-littering tight end Rob Gronkowski may seem like a big goof, he’s a true pro when he gets between the lines.

Still, Arians likes to toy with Gronk.

Arians today was asked about Gronk and raved about his work ethic. But Arians confessed he likes to play practical jokes on Gronk just to get a rise out of him.

“I think a lot of people get caught up with ‘Gronk’ the personality and don’t see the worker,” Arians explained. “He’s in early, he hates making mistakes, he’s meeting with [tight ends coach] Rick [Christophel] constantly, after practice, before practice.

“Like a day today, he’s paying a ton of attention, he’s going to watch that tape meticulously.

“And he does have a lot of fun, he’s a lot of fun to be around. I love just chewing his @ss out just so [he’ll say], ‘Yeah, right dude.'”

You need guys like Gronk on a football field to loosen things up from time to time. Football can’t be all drudgery.

Joe mentioned the following in yesterday’s practice notes. Joe on the field watching training camp, that really gives a better perspective of what a force this Gronk is. TV doesn’t do him justice. Watching on the field, you clearly see the physical mismatch Gronk is on defensive backs.

It really is unfair.

Joe is so glad that unfair matchup is an advantage for the Bucs.

Bucs legend Derrick Brooks and Ira Kaufman are talking training camp. Brooks names the three guys he’s watching closely, and more. The insight and fun is presented by Converged Technology Professionals.

More fun from The Identity Tampa Bay & Joe.

Gronk..what a great guy… completes TB12 . is a pleasure to listen to him being interviewed … so honest on his opinions. A locker room’s CHAMP!

  3. AtlBuc Says:

If he was not a hard worker, I’m sure Brady would probably have never brought him to Tampa.

To be as good as Gronk you have to take your job seriously. The perfect coworker is the one who knows when to have fun and when to get down to business.

Also Personality wise I think George Kittle tries to be like Gronk but Gronk is natural and Kittle comes off as forced IMO

Catches everything with those soft hands and blocks like a pulling guard.
    Canton is waiting.

Yup, Gronk on the field vs. Gronk off the field are two very different people. I don’t think he’d be the greatest TE in NFL history if he was a goof on the field. People around here killed Gerald McCoy for his personality on the field.

Gronk is quite a character……a great guy to have as a Buc…..we’ve got a multitude of really fantastic players….

Mike Evans, Vita Vea, LVD, Devin White, Antoine Winfield Jr., Chris Godwin, Brady, Cam Brate, Shaq, JPP….
The list goes on an on….tremendous talent….great character, leaders…we are so fortunate….team players.

Gronk had a really good season for a guy that missed time.

Old Bucco Brue Arians is having WAY too much fun coaching now.

I am the Gronk of my office. Point in case, I just spiked my desk phone.

    Gronk is simple sage.

The smiling Buddha of kindness and humor.

Gronk is wiser than people give him credit for.

His perspective on life seems extremely loving and positive.

Humans should stop mocking kindness. And begin to value humans that are sweet and kind.

  13. Hodad Says:

Nice to see the real Gronk, and Brady free in Tampa under Arains to be themselves. Fun to watch their last, and maybe best years of HOF careers.

Oneilbucyall, without TB12 NO Gronk. This team has HOF’s up the Ying Yang. This guy scored two TD’s in the SB and continued to level defensive opponents after taking a year off. I almost feel bad for opposing teams. NOT!
