Loaded

Will anyone paying attention to the Buccaneers really predict the team will struggle?

Joe can’t imagine it. No, Joe is not expecting an undefeated season, but calling a 13-4 finish and a No. 1 seed right now almost feels too conservative. That’s how good the Bucs are.

Consider what straight-shooter former Bucs tight end Anthony Becht was dropping on 96.9 FM in Orlando yesterday.

“This team is loaded. They’re loaded with confidence. They’re loaded with playmakers. They’re loaded with the ability now, the understanding of what it takes to get to the top and what it takes to get there through a full season,” Becht said.

Becht went on say that the roster returning is of such great value to a guy like Tom Brady, who knows how to build successfully off that continuity.

Becht said he’s be disappointed if the Bucs didn’t at least get back to the NFC Championship game and that Brady is the best player in the history of the game “by far.”

Man, expectations are steaming hot. Yesterday at the White House, Joe even had a conversation with Team Glazer about the organization keeping its foot on the gas and bull rushing into this season with fire and a hunger like no other.

What a great time to be alive.

Joe was thinking about this yesterday, maybe, just maybe, the Bucs could have 10 NFC Pro Bowlers this season.

Pete will miss Tony. Tony works for the Jets now Pete believes

  2. SB Says:

I hope that we do have 10 Pro Bowlers and None them play in it because we will have a bigger game next week!

  3. Jason Says:

Hey Joe, just curious if you were able to ask Team Glazer what’s up with no regular fans at training camp practices. Or has that changed?

  4. Beeej Says:

    Well I’M expecting a 17-0 team

  5. Beeej Says:

Buncha negative Nancy’s up in here

  6. Medicated Pete Says:

Based on Warner’s new deal today, Devin White will be getting $20mil per year

I am a huge and optimistic fan as everyone knows…..but I’m with Joe on the undefeated season…..do I hope we do it……yes, every year…..can we do it…maybe….will we do it?….we have to prove that game by game.
Part of my thinks it would be good for us to take an early loss….just to let us know there is work to be done….but most of me wants us to win every game.

  8. Jack Burton Mercer Says:

We are the best team in the league this year. I’m only worried about injuries and complacency, but mostly complacency. There are 4-5 guys that I think could fall victim to it.

  9. Buc4evr Says:

The team is loaded, but overconfidence could be their downfall. At the end of the day it’s all about blocking and tackling and every other team is going to bring their A game against us. I expect Brady to help his team stay motivated and hungry as making it back to the top of the mountain is going to be twice as hard.

  10. SB~LV Says:

The NFL season is long , grueling and cruel.
Sure it makes a huge difference to being with talent and confidence,
    Queue the cruel …

    Beej

You’re the negative Nancy up in here.

    I’m predicting 20-0. You’re at 17-0.

Anything less is a total failure and I’m done with the Bucs the first game they lose.😎

  12. Beeej Says:

Hmm, did you put $50 on 20-0??? (I’d have done $100, but THAT would have shown up on wife’s radar)

  13. Slugglife Says:

I’d bet a case of your favorite brew on it. And mine, but that would be a $15 bet on a 24 natty.

You might drink that Brew joes continues to push. Apparently that’s out of my price range. But I’m still down with 17-0. That means I’m nice to my lady for 17 weeks. Thanks Tom Brady! And Devin White(“the savior of the defense”).

    😎

  14. Leighroy Says:

God I hope there’s a middle ground out there in Buc Nation between being able to spend $100 without your wife taking offense, and not being nice to her for a week because your football team lost.

We need a JBF “Loveline” edition for Bucs fans! Ira can be Dr Drew and the Joe’s can play the role of Adam Carolla.

  15. Slugglife Says:

18 years of losing seasons and letdowns will do that to you. Last game my lady went to was when Manning smoked us in the 4th quarter.

We did the tailgate party before, left early because we were whipping that ass, and she was disgusted by my driving when we lost.

Fast forward to the next 17 or so seasons. Got it now? I was 29 then. I’m 47 now. She just goes shopping when I’m watching foot ball now. It is what it is. Doesn’t mean so much anymore. Unless it’s the SB game!

Hope that clears it up. And great post by the way!

  16. Buczilla Says:

16-1 since it is the will of the gods that every former Buccaneers quarterback must embarrass his former team at least once.

  17. Slugglife Says:

Haha. We’ll never hear the end of it from O’Neill and NDog will likely make a reappearance to say “I told you so.”

  18. BradyBucs Says:

The fate of the team will come down to our WEAK SECONDARY.

The moment we start having struggles in a game to get much pressure on the QB (which happened in the games we lost) they’ll get exposed like they did many times last year – including against WFT in the wildcard game when they coughed up 300+ yards passing (plus rushing) to an XFL QB.

Davis is highly overrated and overhyped, and SMB and Dean are so incredibly inconsistent.
