This is a discussion on what defense was better it’s clear 2002 is the winner. 233 points allowed in 2002 versus 433 points allowed in 2020. It’s pretty clear what defense was better

  2. Medicated Pete Says:

Current team is better at every position & depth.

Current team is better at every position & depth.

Which defensive tackle is better than Warren Sapp; which linebacker is better than Derrick Brooks; which safety is better than John Lynch; which corner is better than Ronde Barber and which defensive end is better than Simeon Rice?

Other than that, you’ve got a point.

  4. Alanbucsfan Says:

With all due respect to Mr Brooks and 2002 Bucs… the 2002 offense is not going to rush for 150 yards against 2020 Bucs and Brady is not throwing 5 interceptions.

  5. Alanbucsfan Says:

Another possible factor- T Brown and J Rice accused the Raiders’ head coach of sabotaging the game plan during the week leading up to the game.
The Raiders had no “championship game energy” during the game and Raider fans rioted in Oakland after the game.
That’s not happening with 2020 Bucs.

  6. Joe Says:

With the exception of running back/fullback (Mike Alstott) and right guard (Cosey Coleman), every offensive starter on the 2020 Bucs is better than the 2002 Bucs offense. That’s 9 out of 11.

Thinking on defense Carlton Davis > Brian Kelly, Shaq > Greg Spires, Lavonte/Devin White > Al Singleton and Shelton Quarles.

Rob — 355 points against in 2020 . Check your sheet!
