“He’s Been An Energy-Giver”

April 28th, 2021

Reunion.

Really cool background here from Tom Pelissero of NFL Network on the Bucs bringing Antonio Brown back.

It seems the two parties had mutual interest in keeping the relationship going. The Bucs like how Brown worked and worked with the Bucs last year.

And Brown liked playing with park-violating, home-invading, NFLPA-ignoring, down-forgetting, handshake-stiffing, jet-ski-losing, biscuit-baking, tequila-shooting, smartphone-phobic, waffle-grilling, trophy-throwing, roller-coaster-scared, numbers-rules-peeved, Bucs-Super-Bowl-winning quarterback Tom Brady, and most of all winning a Super Bowl.

However, the reunion may not have been quite as smooth as it seems. Pelissero notes there was another (unnamed) suitor for Brown. You can see and hear the update from Pelissero in the NFL Network video below.

Pelissero says Brown was an “energy-giver” to the roster. For a better understanding of that, a Bucs assistant coach’s words here will refresh your memory.

Our biggest need one day before the draft, QB. Everyone’s back, but our back up QB from last year. That’s an important missing piece if you ask me. What’s going on with Gabbert Joe? You would’ve thought this was an easy one signing Gabbert. I can’t believe no one in the media isn’t making more of a fuss out of this. Having a decent back up QB seems like a big deal to me. Most teams bring 4 arms to camp, we have 2. With the 32nd pick in the first round the Bucs draft,?.

great! great to have him back; love to have a bad a$s on the team. you gain more respect and others kind a fear you. good; bad; and ugly = TB12;DW45; and AB81. love it. 👍

Now just stop hanging out w/ Jake Paul 🙏

Where does AB stand currently in the HoF discussion to everyone? Factoring in everything (good and bad) that’s transpired in his career…

How many people have made the HoF w/ the amount of legal issues he’s had, being suspended for 1/2 a season, playing as a “number 3” WR on a team’s depth chart for a few years, etc.?

I’m glad we signed him back though. I’m also happy he seems to have been a model teammate as a Buc w/ no issues….and now he got that SB ring!

  4. 813bucboi Says:

    excited AB is back!!!!!

    target DE/OLB, DT, LB, 2 DBs, G/C….

    GO BUCS!!!!

  5. Casual Observer Says:

Agree with 813. Those should be the ordered priorities.

  6. 6throundpick Says:

If one WR goes down, 2 premium WRs are still playing. Very important; need a playoff bye this year…teams will not take the Bucs lightly…respect. And with 3…styles, strategy, drive the defenses crazy.

That clip could’ve shown more of Kay Adams.

I’ve been wondering about Gabbert too…I thought BA loved the guy

    It’s Blaine Gabbert man.

    Agree!

  11. webster Says:

Wait a minute……what? AB and the bucs wanted to stay with each other? According to joe the pied piper of many of the sheep who took the bait and parrotted the same idiotic take that the video AB posted of him working out with his cousin was some type of threat to the bucs. The nerve of brown to post a video working out with hollywood brown and his best friend lamar jackson. This report today and many others have reported that brown was always going to and wanted to sign with the bucs and the feeling was mutual. So much for the so called threat ie video gate lol

  12. SlyPirate Says:

    Culture.

The Bucs got the crew back because they invested in culture. Let’s appreciate how far we’ve come since BA took over.

The “Den of Depression” is now the “Home of Good Hope”.

  13. Swampbuc Says:

Why is Kay wearing a Viqueens shirt?

  14. Baby Grace Says:

    Thanks JOE,

Thanks for putting your Tom Brady meme in 1 paragraph so I can immediately skip it and moved on from the silliness!

  15. Dave Says:

My guess is they haven’t signed Gabbert because they want other teams to believe they are drafting a QB in Round 1. That way, when they initiate a trade up for an Edge or CB the other teams will think it’s for a QB and will be more likely to make the trade. Then they sign Gabbert on day 2 or 3 of the draft.

  16. Kentucky Buc Says:

    Plausible @Dave

  17. LISTNFRMAFAR Says:

Gabbert is getting signed, wasn’t he at the UFC event with Evan’s & Brady?

    Joe,
I like how you have the links to previous stories being included in the story currently being read. On that note, according to your link to “assistant coach’s words here”, you have found a way to get a classy dinner for two from Whole Foods. Good job.
