LOL–is this for real? Hamilton has taken FSU to something like 5 out of 7 of their Sweet 16 games, and they were nothing before him. He had them with a legitimate shot to win it all last year, and won the ACC. But surrrre, let’s talk about why he shouldn’t be there.

    Overreaction Monday.

    Todd,

    Leonard Hamilton knows basketball.

Taking a one game mistake 3 years ago and making it the crux of your argument that he is a bad coach over a winning career.

Hamilton is the best coach FSU has ever had in basketball. He has the 3rd best record in the tough ACC since he has been there.

His flaw might be in recruiting. He does not go for straight shooter types. He goes for guys that play a full 94 foot game. But he is recruiting against others in the best conference in college.

Pat Kennedy had Bobby Sura, Doug Edwards, Charlie Ward, and Sam Cassell.
All played in the NBA and that team just reached the elite 8. That team lost 10 games that year.

I guess you prefer that FSU go back to the 6th or 7th best team in the ACC every year for basketball.

P.S. My guess is that the guys who have never fired Leonard Hamilton know more about college basketball than you.
P.S.S. By your logic, I am a better coach than Marty Schottenheimer as I have been to a Super Bowl and he has not.

Don’t know what he said as I don’t waste my time listening to this guy.

  5. Matt Says:

I’m guessing Todd has done far less in his life as I’ve never heard of him.
