“I’m Afraid, Ms. Bündchen, You Are Going To Have To Take A Back Seat”

March 5th, 2021

“The nerve of that man, Tom!”

A man in the Pro Football Hall of Fame had very direct words for the wife of the Bucs’ quarterback.

In so many words, former NFL tight end Shannon Sharpe told supermodel Gisele Bündchen that she needs to butt out of husband’s football plans. Gisele is the wife of park-violating, home-invading, NFLPA-ignoring, down-forgetting, handshake-stiffing, jet-ski-losing, biscuit-baking, tequila-shooting, waffle-grilling, trophy-throwing, Bucs Super Bowl-winning quarterback Tom Brady,

In an appearance on the “Late, Late Show” earlier this week, Brady explained that his wife said upon hugging her him after the Bucs won their second Super Bowl win, “What more do you have to prove?

The suggestion is Gisele has had enough of Brady playing football, despite his stated desire to play until he is 45 (he will turn 44 in August).

In the wake of this news, Hall of Fame players are coming to Brady’s defense. None other than Joe Montana advised Brady to keep playing until teams don’t want him.

Now Shape has joined in. On FS1’s signature hollering show “Undisputed,” Sharpe advised Brady to keep on keeping on and in no uncertain terms told Mrs. Brady to chill out.

“Keep going, bro,” Sharpe said of Brady continuing to play football. “Because you will never find anything to replace that burning desire that you have while you play in the NFL.

“His desire to prove he can still do it, longer and better than anybody else that has ever done it before, is greater than his desire to say, ‘I proved everything. I can walk away.’

“I’m afraid, Ms. Bündchen, you are going to have to take a back seat on this one. Tom is not going to let anyone influence this decision.”

Joe sure hopes not, so long as Brady continues to play anywhere close to how he played last season.

And given how Brady’s influence among young players is immeasurable and his attention to detail and hunger to win inspires his teammates, this guy is worth his weight in gold.

Keep going, Tom. Please, keep playing.

I liked what Peyton said on an interview some years back–“I like the way my friend Tom Brady put it, I’m gonna play till I suck”

  2. Buczilla Says:

    Amen to that.

  3. Robert Says:

Can’t blame Gisele for her opinion, nor Tom for his. I have confidence they compromise. They sure looked like a loving family post game…it’s not like he was just hugging his kids.

  4. adam from ny Says:

if tom pulls a trifecta in tampa that would be hotter than any photo shoot giselle ever did…

have no fear dear, tommy’s gonna ball out for a minute…

then you can have his for the rest of your life…

but for now it’s a bucs life for one thomas brady…

if we win the superbowl next season, and have a boat parade…

i think tom should just throw the trophy in the river and be like:

    “What what…yeah that’s right i chucked it in the river…fugg it…what what!”

and throw his hands in the air

  6. Rayjay1122 Says:

Tom said that retirement age is 65. Just saying. Haha

  7. Cobraboy Says:

Not bad for an old, decrepit, noodle-arm has-been, huh?

The GOAT doesn’t eat W’s. He bakes them on an industrial assembly line for lesser QB’s to fantasize and drool over.

  8. adam from ny Says:

    what if:

tom thinks he can stick around for 10 superbowl wins…

a ring on every single finger…

  9. Winny Testaverde Says:

Brady would/will be miserable in retirement…especially if it’s at the point of his wife’s bayonet. Let him play two more years…they’ll have the rest of their lives to “hang out”. Brady doesn’t strike me as the kind of cat who “idles well”…at all.

  10. BA4President Says:

I’m not sure if any spouse should be told to “take a back seat” when it comes to such a large decision that will influence THEIR family and kids. It comes across super d*ckish. She’s not some girlfriend, and if they stick to their vow’s then she’s going to be with him long after football.

Now with that said, you also don’t want your spouse having subconscious resentment that negatively effects the family as a result of being forced into an early retirement.

  11. BA4President Says:

And I’m sure a big name in the media suggesting that Giselle should “take a back seat” doesn’t create an uncomfortable situation at home for TB12…

  12. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Be careful Gi$$elle…..before Tom trades you in on a younger “model”…..replacing you would be easier than Football….and, the last time I checked, Tom has his own money……

  13. Bird Says:

    Cobra

    Im dying
    😂

  14. Capt.Tim Says:

    He’ll play, until he doesnt.
But every year hes our QB- we are the Superbowl favorite, IMO
I hope he plays at least 4 more years.
But if he quit tomorrow, he would be the best QB in Buc History.

  15. Gofortheface30 Says:

Actually I find it wrong for anyone to get him to quit. I don’t care if it’s his wife or not. He’s doing what he loves. Don’t step back for anybody, period.

  16. chris L Says:

this is all drumming up a story of her saying that as if she is bad. she might have just made the comment and we are insinuating she wants him to retire. he brought it up in a late night show relaxed environment as funny. no other reports. because of all these, everyone is going crazy on her when she hasnt done anything wrong. it is terrible seeing the misogynist comments because of this. irresponsible too

  17. Beeej Says:

Hey, whatever happened to love, honor, and…..oBEY….

  18. Casual Observer Says:

“‘Worth his weigh in gold” is a good summary of his value with this team.

  19. Evolvingbucsfan Says:

I have to admit that i have been a die hard Tom Brady fan for at least 11 months now…….and counting.

Thank you Thomas Edward Patrick Brady, Jr., play as long as you would like to, Sir.

  20. crayhopper Says:

Suggestions that his wife should butt out are counterproductive. If her husband is seriously injured or has cognitive issues, she and their kids are the ones who will be living with that. Dissing her will only harden her resolve. Respect the woman, as you would your own wife or mother.

  21. mark2001 Says:

Montana said Brady is the goat. And his advice is to play as long as he can.

  22. Cobraboy Says:

@tbbf: There is an upgrade over Gisele?

  23. RioDeJaneiroBucsFan Says:

As everyone probably knows, Giselle is Braziian and she comes to Rio often
I had the opportunity to meet her twice for professional matters.
She’s a very friendly, caring and easy going girl
And friendly-caring-easy going Brazilian girls never pester their husbands to make them unhappy.
I guarantee you that she’s been educated to do the smart thing and let Tom play until he thinks it’s time to retire
Of course she made him know that he has to spend more time with his family, but she won’t torment him
No need to worry at all

  24. Brevard Buc Says:

Passing statement that was honest by a loving spouse.

Nothing to see here. Brady will play as long as “he” wants to!!!

  25. 6throundpick Says:

They’re a great team. She’s probably the reason why Tom does so many great things to keep himself in shape…diet, etc… Her husband just happens to be the best ever, and the Tampa Bay Area loves him, as well. It sure looks like the kids are enjoying Dad’s success; looked like they had a great time on the boats. Hey, we all love Tom. Nuff said.

  26. Beeej Says:

“I’m playing as long as I want! And make me a sammich”

  27. Robert Says:

    LOL Beeej!!!!!

  28. Bucfan81 Says:

Brady could probably play another 5 years if he wanted. He doesn’t look anywhere close to done at 43.

  29. Rob in Land O Lakes Says:

Easy there, Yoko. Let’s not break the Beatles up yet.

  30. NE fan Says:

Let’s all listen to Shannon who said Brady was done years ago. Haaaaa

  31. JA Says:

Almost zero doubt he won’t play this year, but it’s humorous when others try to tell spouses how they should behave toward one another. Ain’t none of our business, folks.
For all you misogynistic dunderheads, keep pounding on those mutton rears. My guess is that’s as close you’ll ever come to finding romance.

  32. ClodHopper Says:

Was it confirmed that’s what she meant? That could be taken a number of ways. When I saw it live, I thought it was a respect thing. For example: “What more do you have to prove for people to stop saying you’re washed up,” and Bradys little video showing everyone calling him washed up reinforces that interpretation

  33. Cannon Says:

Every year that he wins a trophy is another line item to his legendary ledger. He would be doing his legacy a disservice if hung up his cleats before his time was due. Play out your career, Brady. It will never be duplicated again, so make it as epic as it can be.

  34. WillieG Says:

Maybe “What more do you have to prove?“ wasn’t a question asked in desperation, maybe it was a challenge. As it “What’s next, an undefeated season capped off with a Super Bowl win?!!”

  35. D-Rome Says:

No one should have a say in Brady’s future plans except him and his wife. She has been expressing for many years her concerns for his long term health. I’m sure it turns her stomach in knots whenever he takes big hits. None of the talking heads, the Joes, or anyone else will be there to live with a person is dealing with the health effects of playing in the NFL for 20+ years.

Look at Vincent Jackson. Look at Junior Seau. Look at Dave Duerson. Do you think Tom Brady is somehow immune to CTE? I absolutely understand her concerns.

  36. Howard Cosell Says:

Do you think Tom Brady is somehow immune to CTE?

It wouldn’t surprise Howard if Brady is immune to CTE…or if Brady is actually 1/2 alien anunnaki. He hasn’t just seen aliens, his dad is one.
Howard just finished reading the Mexican self help book referred by Brady. It was an epiphany.

  37. Ben Says:

Cmon! Brady doesn’t take hits lol. Probably why he is still playing, protected very well over the years and gets the ball out quick. When I heard about this news I thought that maybe this was why Brady has not been extended yet with only a few days remaining before FA. Bucs have a few restructures to do if they want to resign their top 3 guys, and nothing has happened yet. Starting to wonder, as other teams have wasted no time to do so. LFG Bucs get this done!!!

  38. Mitchel Says:

    She’s his biggest fan

  39. Colin in Canada Says:

Lay off Mrs. Goat Joes. We want the Brady’s to be happy!

  40. REDZONE BA Says:

Expert TB12 Marketing positioning! Kudos, TB!!! The BRAND stays in high-demand. Brady is playing again in 2021, which was always happening…

Dude plays winning SB QB and manages media too…. Tip of Hat to you, Tommy!

  41. Ddogg Says:

I have a feeling it was meant as to be more endearing than danming. Before Brady left New England, when he started into free agency, when the buccs signed him, before he played his first game with the Buccs after he played his first game with the Buccs, during mid season and stepping into the playoffs still some were saying Brady cannot do what Brady used to do, and it goes on….. Maybe she meant “what else do you have to prove” to all the haters and trolls that get found on social media and in the media……. People look and react to much into things and make it more complicated than it was simply put. The talking heads just want something to talk about. You should just leave the Brady family alone buccaneer fans just appreciate the fact that we have him here now and a team full of talent has not gone to waste. Can’t wait to see the next season for Tom Brady Mike Evans Devin White, Antoine Winfield, Vita Vita, Rojo and so many other names I hope to have to back to this team for next year….. LET GO BUCCS. #ChampaBay

  42. Ne+ bucs fan Says:

What if brady told her to quit modelling, most people don’t retire in the 50’s
