Happy Tom Brady Day!

March 17th, 2021

Raise a glass!

Yeah, Joe knows that for millions, this is their day: St. Patrick’s Day, March 17, the unofficial (?) Irish holiday.

It usually involves parades and most certainly involves alcohol, often beer and sometimes Irish whiskey (a drink Joe has never gotten used to but has tried). And of course, corned beef is involved.

What’s not to like, corned beef and alcohol?

Well, in the Tampa Bay area, March 17 has changed but it is very much a reason to celebrate with copious amounts of Big Storm beer and food.

It is Tom Brady Day!

For it was last year on St. Patrick’s Day, March 17, that park-violating, home-invading, NFLPA-ignoring, down-forgetting, handshake-stiffing, jet-ski-losing, biscuit-baking, tequila-shooting, waffle-grilling, trophy-throwing Bucs Super Bowl-winning quarterback Brady signed with the Bucs as a free agent to come play for the pewter pirates.

And the organization if not life as a whole has never been the same.

The Bucs suddenly became the talk of the sports world. Since “The Sickness” shut down all sports, the TV hollering shows and radio talk shows throughout the nation only and Brady and the Bucs to babble about. It was unreal.

Team Glazer couldn’t have bought this kind of exposure.

And the hype was real! Brady transformed this moribund organization into a Super Bowl winner. And just today when Shaq Barrett signed his new contract, the sober talk was about repeating as champs.

How did this happen?

Joe knows how. A leprechaun by the name of “Thomas” came to the Bucs a year ago today, March 17, 2020, and brought his pot o’ gold.

So tonight when you are sipping on Irish whiskey (Bushmills Black is the most tolerable Joe can find that doesn’t taste like turpentine) or beer, raise your glass for Brady.

For Brady saved the Bucs!

Happy Tom Brady Day!

Itā€™s now evident this is money drive. I donā€™t see us doing much in year 1 as Brady will struggle leaving just year 2 and the dude will be 45! Plus, all the qbs at #14 are nothing special. Unless we get herbert, I donā€™t see much from love or eason.

Personally I donā€™t see getting Brady over Winston is an improvement. Arm strength, velocity, relationship with our WRā€™s isnā€™t there. Of course his smarts and knowledge of Defenses outshines Winston. Heā€™s the ultimate winner. Being immobile is my biggest concern. Canā€™t count how many plays outside the pockets Jameis makes running for his life. Iā€™d rather see Jameis return for roughly the same money your giving a 43 year old QB. Build the running game and O line. Keep adding youth to the D line. If it doesnā€™t pan out with Jameis. Cut your ties. Just donā€™t settle with Gabbert as the backup. Bridgewater isnā€™t the answer with this offense and durability either.

When in reality the job of the next QB will be completely different from the job the previous QB had. But again who cares about facts you complete and utter IDIOTS make comments like anyone but Jameis. My goodness you people are freaking stupid. If anyone would actually watch tape they would see Jameisā€™s interception issue is very simple. Most, not all, come from him seeing a presnap read and then a player on defense doing something he didnā€™t expect or jumping a route. At times he tries to throw with to much anticipation. For instance if you see a team playing cover 3 you expect that corner to bail so you throw the hitch early but it f instead he sits on the route thatā€™s a easy pick and looks like a horrible throw but really itā€™s just great film work by the defense. So where is the issue, does he not trust his line to wait that extra second? Is he thinking he can fit it in regardless? These are the things we should be hearing from the coaches, but no we havenā€™t and that is what is disappointing about this coaching staff thus far

  17. SteveK Says:

    Ndog Says:
    March 14th, 2020 at 7:04 pm
See this is what Iā€™m talking about why try to twist crap. I was very clear, did I say switch their defense anywhere? I clearly stated they jump routes which means going outside the confines of the defense. But they get away with it cause Jameis is trusting his presnap read so much and teams are taking advantage of it. The simple fix would seem that be to tell him just wait a half a beat longer to ensure they are not jumping a route. A prime example would be the second pick against Houston. They clearly showed a man 2 man robber look which means the robber would be in the middle of the field not on the right hash. However that robber guessed the route and came screaming across the field to jump the route for the pick. Jameis threw it right as Perriman broke so he thought he had plenty of room to fit it in but alas it got picked. You would also say look of the safety in that instance longer BUT we all clearly hear coach Arains say earlier this year he actually looks off safeties to long. So in this case he didnā€™t look him off long enough to hold him in the middle yet he is clearly being told to come off the safety sooner ( Arains exact words). So you see this is not as simple as he sucks or hes dumb but like I say often most of you simply donā€™t understand football enough to have any idea what Iā€™m talking about.

    lambchop Says:
    March 14th, 2020 at 7:09 pm
I donā€™t buy this argument. He throws some really great passes sometimes, sometimes and he throws head scratchers too. It is his decision making under duress and him relying on his targets to go grab errant passes in their vicinity. He throws prayers up under duress. He does not handle coming from behind or having the pocket collapse around him where he doesnā€™t have time to scramble.

    Ndog Says:
    March 14th, 2020 at 7:12 pm
Another example is that unbelievably great throw at Atlanta to Godwin for the TD. That was clearly Tampa 2 so the open area should be deep down the middle and they had the perfect route called. However Jones did a great job on Godwin but the presnap read said to go there so Jameis did despite it having basically a 5% chance to complete it. Of course he did cause of his ridiculously accurate throw, which people say he doesnā€™t have. In addition everyone should be aware there are about 20-30 throws this year that he made and completed that NO OTHER QB besides he and Mahomes will even try. So those drives will likely not result in points and more time for the defense on the field, but itā€™s not a TO so itā€™s great I know I know.

    SteveK Says:
    March 14th, 2020 at 7:15 pm
Rodgers can make some crazy throws too.

The funny thing is Mahomes threw 5 INTs this year. Jameis did that in London.

Also go back to the college days and he always struggled with LB dropping on middle of the field routes , he just wants to make the play about a nano second to quick and thatā€™s why he needs to be a throw it to the d first read qb . Problem is he Is about a Nano second late on his drop and release ,,,,, which by is a Brady strength but not an Ariens offense strength !!

Well they should all consider the fact that in the NFL a slow QB decision (Winston) is way worse then a poor decision. What I mean by this is delayed throwing because of uncertainty is the biggest cause of both fumbles & interceptions. Winston struggles with both! His reaction time has put strain on the o line as well as the receivers who have to adjust after the initial route doesnā€™t work.

I am honest about my opinion of all players and just cause I can see what happens on plays doesnt mean a player cant get better. In fact these mistakes are easy to fix as opposed to being 43 years old cause you cant fix age or to fixing a weak arm that simply cant make some of the throws Jameis can make.

    Luck
    Games started: 55
    Attempts: 2,106
    Comp%: 57.8

The other two guys seriously you would give up a chance on a long time franchise QB for a 1 or 2 year stop gap? Really?

And BTW I truly believe it would cripple this franchise if he did leave and went onto wild success elsewhere. That would firmly entrench us as the worse organization in football to play for, hands down.

    Bo Jackson
    Steve Young
    Doug Williams
    Aquib Talib
    Lagrette Blount
    Michael Bennett
Then to put it over the top Jameis Winston

Might as well trade for a qb that dont throws picks. Maybe a guy thatā€™s sitting on his couch that just threw for 5109 33 tuddys with about 2 picks. We will get him for 20 million because yes the cap room. We have some certified accounts here on JBF that can tell you how to spend it and who gets what from a base called stats.

I think we have Marvin Harrison, TO, Moss, Jerry rice they yall say it makes a qb.

Why cant the Bucs get a turnover? Its every now and then. Always then and there.

Guess who Jameisā€™ third leading touchdown receiver is?

Iā€™ll give you a hint, they donā€™t wear a Buccaneers Uniform. Thatā€™s right, more touchdowns that turnovers, and 7 pick 6ā€™s- a new record.

    LaMarcus,

Imagine if other QBs could throw 30 picks and not get benched? Itā€™s a Bucā€™s Life!

Jeagan1999 because contrary to what you are told all those TOs are not only on the QB. I know you donā€™t want to believe that but it is simply true. Other players make mistakes too, situations create more opportunities for TOs like penalities, being one dimensional (sound familiar) and injuries. Yes TOs kill teams but the folks that repeat that over and over and over again simply are blaming one person when in reality it is way deeper than that.

I love how oneilbucs and others refuse to admit itā€™s win time for winston. Everything they said he needed and didnā€™t have with the Bucs he has now with saints. So ima ask again oneilbucs is it super bowl or bust for winston also????
