“Tom Came Here And Changed The Culture At Practice”

February 11th, 2021

Manpower

It’s been eye-opening hearing Bucco Bruce Arians say after the Super Bowl that — one year ago — the Bucs were one player away from winning it all.

It’s quite a tribute to Tom Brady and firm backhanded slap at Jameis Winston.

Why a slap? Consider eight playoff touchdowns were scored by Bucs who were not on the roster last season, in addition to newcomer kicker Ryan Succop making all nine of his field goal attempts in the playoffs.

So perhaps Arians wasn’t thinking about the stat sheet when he made that comment. Perhaps he was referring to the presence of Brady’s daily leadership.

“Tom came here and changed the culture at practice,” Jordan Whitehead told SiriusXM NFL Radio.

What a powerful statement from the Bucs’ starting safety. He said Brady’s leadership “matched perfectly” with Lavonte David and Devin White and it “made you want to practice harder.”

Whitehead also said he marveled at how Brady coached offensive players.

“Going out to practice every day, you see he wants to be great. Walk-throughs, it’s not a walk-through, you’re jogging,” Whitehead added. “He just wants everything executed perfect.”

There is that “C” word again. Nobody wanted to talk about that when our previous QB was here.
Now people are understanding how important it is.

Itโ€™s all how you say โ€œtoes on the line โ€œ

    The GOAT.

  4. DavidBigBucFan99 Says:

Perfection begets perfection which begets a championship ring!

  5. Cannon Says:

Did the Bucs appropriate Tom Brady’s culture? How dare they!

  6. Cobraboy Says:

    Has Brady checked his sheets?

  7. Bruce Blahak Says:

minus WinSTUNNED and McCoy = Super Bowl!

“simple as that” ….the tanking for WinSTUNNED is all forgiven ๐Ÿ™‚

  8. sauron's eye Says:

Jameis could be starting for the saints next year. Be nice to get those extra picks each game.

  9. 6throundpick Says:

Exactly what I posted, before the first practise…would get more intense. And this doesn’t impact not having fun playing ball- just getting the execution bit down pat. I also posted that Tampa Bay did not get a broken QB; that the system Belichick had him trapped in was making him look bad. Note: Belichick’s dream is to win it all with just special teams and defense. Lastly, I posted that this team would make a few runs. Be here, now. CHEERS!

  10. Casual Observer Says:

The team gradually improved as the year went on. Penalties went way down. The GOAT’s influence in practices is a main reason.

  11. I CARE NOW Says:

My bad, didn’t realize a Brady article came out. I just wrote this though, what do yall think?

Oh and them deep (50 plus yard bombs?) balls to Scotty are a thing of beauty from Tom. I mean I am not sure you will ever need to throw a ball further than that really. Heck The 30-40 yarders are just as amazing to see.

Scotty will be here for several more years with Tyler and M.E. (Hopefully CG as we as Howard)

I am a believer in Toms arm strength. Unless he hurts it, he will be able to sling that ball for several more years.

If we keep building the D and keep the talent in front of him. He might just get to 10 Super Bowl wins. Heck, if the D goes on a run like the late 90s early 2000s. I donโ€™t see why he would want to hang em up.

IMHO, He needs to go after Gordie Howe now that he has taken down Jordan!!! Only needs 5 more years to do so. I believe it is possible. <โ€“ Crazy to think its possible? Not when it is Tom Freaking Brady.

  12. Robert Says:

I hope jw gets the start. he’ll be so geeked and want to burn us so bad he’ll probably throw 4 picks before they yank him and put an end to his career.

  13. Destinjohnny Says:

Sb you owe me a jersey bro lol
    Cough it up mate ๐Ÿ™‚

  14. Youngbucs Says:

We were a QB away itโ€™s just the truth anybody who doesnโ€™t believe 30 ints. And what 6-7 pick six kept us out the playoffs in 2019 is a fool!!!!!!!

  15. NashvilleBuc Says:

    ^^^ That!

  16. SKBucsfan Says:

That is why Licht needs to talk tonthe Glazers about offering TB12 an ownership interest as part of a retirement plan in a couple of years. Years of making everyone better on your team deserves some sort of thought on a long term retention plan.

  17. Duthsty Rhothdes Says:

OBF….100% right on and the stat sheet shows it

  18. Casual Observer Says:

    SKBFan – Agree.

  19. Evolvingbucsfan Says:

If Jameis tossed that Trophy it would had landed in the wrong boat.

  20. OBF Says:

Now letโ€™s go after that Dolphin record!

  21. Gofortheface30 Says:

Letโ€™s also get an article on Succop as well Joe ๐Ÿ™‚

What an absolute god send heโ€™s been – greatest season by a kicker in Bucs history and laid his big giant nuts on the table when kicking a big 52 yarder in the Super Bowl. Thank you Ryan Succop!

  22. Jaymiss Pick6 Again Says:

ANYBODY miss the Realist right now? Yea – thought so…me neither.

  23. Joe in Michigan Says:

    Evolvingbucsfan: Hahaha, good one!

  24. cmurda Says:

I just watched that Super Bowl for the 4th time. The best part ever just happened. Late in the game and we are in good position and deuces from Winfield just came out. The best penalty in the history of this franchise. It forced my hand into having to get the Winfield SB jersey first. It was going to be Wirfs but Wirfs will have to be on deck. I’m sure I’ll be buying plenty.

  25. Cainishere Says:

I have been saying that Tom Brady would make an incredible head coach for the Buccaneers. You wouldn’t even need a general manager as he has that capability to evaluate player talent. He understands clearly both offensive scheme and defensive schemes and could dominate the NFL after his career as a player has ended.

  26. Cobraboy Says:

The culture has morphed from, “Yo, we losers, but check yo sheets” to “Quit whining about a Pro Bowl snub, we have bigger fish to fry.”

    Right before our eyes.

@cmurda: I wore #47 to games for years. Looks like it’ll be #31…even if I don’t go to games.

I may have to make it to Tampa for one game next season. I do miss the live experience. Heck, if I time it right, I can do a Sunday then the next Thursday game, hopefully, home and away.

  27. Cainishere Says:

You know Mr. Winfield Jr. flashed the Deuces to hill multiple times. Google Winfield Jr’s Deuces click images and you will see that he taunted hill practically all game long. That little stinker ๐Ÿ˜€

  28. Buc1987 Says:

Jaymiss Pick6…I’m missing Realist at this point.

I wish he’d come in here and eat lots of crow.

  29. Cobraboy Says:

    @Buc1987:

    Men eat crow.

    Boys run and hid.

    Nuff said?

  30. cmurda Says:

If I get crapped on for my roller coaster emotions during the games, then Realist should be made to walk the plank. I always support whichever players this team has and root for them. I just call it like I see it a little too often….. A lot too often

  31. BUC CHEEKS Says:

For those of you who miss Realist!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hereโ€™s some exclamation points for you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!THROW IN SOME CAP LOCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! A FEW๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BLAH BLAH BLAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YOUโ€™LL SEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!๐Ÿ‘ YADA YADA YADA

    GO BUCS!!!!!!!

  32. Buc1987 Says:

Cobra…yah I know, but he used to brag about how he was one of the first posters on JBF back in the beginning of the site.

I’m positive he still reads the site.

Ndog has nothing to fear….he’s just a Jameis lover…kind of harmless.

T max well that’s another story.

    WHERE are you GUYS?

  33. Cobraboy Says:

    @Buc1987:

Manning-up, first and foremost, requires “man.”

    Maybe those guys/gals/xirs could some C4MH therapy suggestions… ๐Ÿ˜‰

  34. Jaymiss Pick6 Again Says:

@ Cheeks….Hahahaha!! That was refreshing – I almost thought the unRealist was back. Thanks for the laugh.

  35. Robert Says:

all yall busting on npup and real etc…..

    it’s

    they/them/their

  36. Cobraboy Says:

I know the Joes don’t like links, so instead search YT for “Tom Brady Bucs Mini Movie || “Road to the 7th Ring”

    Excellent.

  37. Tye Says:

People who were basically JW fans (not really Bucs fans) were willingly blinded to see he was very much a part of the problem…
all in the past now for he was justifiably replaced by a WINNER!

  38. Robert Says:

I think some apologies are owed to some of us who hated jw and were called every name in the book for it….then when we backed brady they said the same thing. to all those folks. suck it. ๐Ÿ™‚

  39. DoooshLaRue Says:

    cmurda,

Yes sir…… you are an emotional roller coaster on game day!
But as a true Bucs fan I can relate!
