Scotty Miller Makes The Big Time

February 11th, 2021

National TV appearance.

A couple of hours before Scotty Miller dropped Chris Godwin’s phone in the river yesterday, “Scooter” dropped in on “Good Morning Football” to talk all things Super Bowl Bucs and how he went from a second-team MAC receiver to a champion in two seasons.

Miller also spoke about how nervous he got when he learned the Bucs signed park-violating, home-invading, NFLPA-ignoring, down-forgetting, handshake-stiffing, jet-ski-losing, biscuit-baking Bucs Super Bowl-winning quarterback Tom Brady.

The pride of Bowling Green got a text from then-phone-owning Godwin that Brady wanted to throw to him, Miller and Cam Brate the next day at Berkeley Prep in Tampa. Miller admitted he began to tense up.

“I was just hoping I would catch the ball and impress him and do things well,” Miller said.

Also in the interview, Miller doubles down on his claim he can beat Cheetah Hill in a footrace.

You can see Miller’s full interview in the NFL Network video below.

  1. '79 Defense Says:

Brady looked a hell of a lot like Bernie in the move Weekend at Bernie’s the way he needed support after getting off the boat yesterday.

  2. '79 Defense Says:

    –movie, not move

  3. OBF Says:

Scotty is a great story, but I’ll have to see more out of him than a one trick pony. His lightweight is a huge disadvantage running routes, all it takes is a firm hand and he is off balance. I’d love to see him in camp next summer with 8-10 lbs of man weight on his frame.

  4. Cannon Says:

Miller is what he is… a burner who can rip the top off the defense.

That’s a valuable thing to have in your arsenal. Means defenses have to honor the deep ball, which opens things up to rest of the monsters on this offense.

  5. I CARE NOW Says:

I read someone making this comparison and I can’t get it out of my head.

Scotty and Gronk are like Captain America Before and After he was made into a super soldier.

I personally find that to be hilarious.

  6. Karma Says:

Just the threat of him running deep opens up the underneath and keeps defenses honest

  7. Karma Says:

Its not the size of the dog in the fight, its the size of the fight in the dog.

  8. I CARE NOW Says:

Oh and them deep (50 plus yard bombs?) balls to Scotty are a thing of beauty from Tom. I mean I am not sure you will ever need to throw a ball further than that really. Heck The 30-40 yarders are just as amazing to see.

Scotty will be here for several more years with Tyler and M.E. (Hopefully CG as we as Howard)

I am a believer in Toms arm strength. Unless he hurts it, he will be able to sling that ball for several more years.

If we keep building the D and keep the talent in front of him. He might just get to 10 Super Bowl wins. Heck, if the D goes on a run like the late 90s early 2000s. I don’t see why he would want to hang em up.

IMHO, He needs to go after Gordie Howe now that he has taken down Jordan!!! Only needs 5 more years to do so. I believe it is possible. <– Crazy to think its possible? Not when it is Tom Freaking Brady.

  9. 6throundpick Says:

Miller reminded me right away of a few of TB12’s fave targets: Amendola and Welker. Of course, Miller is faster and gets out a bit farther. Looking forward to seeing more TB12 to Miller big plays.

  10. Robert Says:

    A keeper for sure!

  11. Chris@Apple Roof Cleaning Tampa Says:

LOL, Tom Brady demonstrated his arm strength, throwing the Lombardi Trophy across the river yesterday.
Seriously, Scotty Miller with more weight on him may not be as fast as he is at his current weight.

  12. orlbucfan Says:

Miller knows what he has to do in the off season. That idea of a charity race between him and Tyreek Hill is a good one. A lot of folks need help here. I hope they can pull it off.

  13. Jim Says:

Let’s keep Scotty just as he is, instead of making him OJH2. He’s a special weapon in the Buc’s arsenal.

  14. David Says:

Love these guys and their interviews!
The Devin White interview on GMFB was fantastic

  15. TOM Says:

Added wieght may slow him down. Don’t change anything.

  16. Brandon Says:

Did DeSean Jackson need to add weight to be a success in the NFL? He didn’t. Keep your opinion to yourself and let the pros take care of it.
