Joe has always resisted referring to park-violating, home-invading, NFLPA-ignoring, down-forgetting, handshake-stiffing, jet-ski-losing, biscuit-baking Bucs quarterback Tom Brady as a farm animal.
Joe was always a Joe Montana guy and frankly, Joe always thought Montana’s gauntlet to his four Super Bowls was significantly steeper than anything the Belicheats had to conquer.
Montana had to get past the Bears’ vaunted defense, the Redskins (with three-time Super Bowl winner Joe Gibbs) and the Giants (two-time Super Bowl winner).
The Belicheats had to beat the Jets.
But Joe is sold on Brady now. It’s all over. He’s a farm animal.
Brady took over a team that had known almost nothing but losing for a decade, and without any offseason, without any minicamps or OTAs, and no preseason (thank God). He hitched the losing Bucs to his wagon and put them on his back, and damn if Brady didn’t lead the Bucs to the Promised Land, winning the Super Bowl MVP award in the process.
No, not even the great Montana could get the winning Chiefs to the Super Bowl.
OK, Joe capitulates. Brady is the GOAT.
And Joe is beyond happy about it.

Really no denying now that Tom is the best guy to every play football… He’s not the greatest QB to ever play but he’s the best at understanding what it takes to win and how to make people around him believe they can win and put that fire into them and bring out their best!!!!! … He’s unbelievable!!… Wonder if he’d be interested in trading lives with me… He can have my wife, I’ll take my kids with me to his wife and vice versa… And he can take over my welding business and I’ll take over as the best QB ever with a fine azz wife!!… Oh and A TON of money!!!
