The Greatest Bucs Coach

February 7th, 2021

Ring of Honor calling.

Yeah, Joe wrote that headline. Bucco Bruce Arians is the greatest coach in Bucs history.

John McKay was a wily comedian who knew how to build a team. But he never got to a Super Bowl.

Father Dungy was a good coach who could turn a rotten franchise into a winner. But he never got the Bucs to a Super Bowl.

Chucky took a winning team, rebuilt the offense, allowed Monte Kiffin to unleash his defense as he saw fit and got the Bucs over the hump to win a Super Bowl.

Arians? He took over a sh!t franchise and in two years oversaw a reclamation project of the roster and turned the Bucs into Super Bowl champions. And look at the Murderer’s Row the Bucs overcame to win their second franchise Super Bowl.

In the last three games the Bucs chased Drew Brees into likely retirement, corralled NFL Most Valuable Player Aaron Rodgers and brought Pat Mahomes to his knees.

No coach in Bucs history has done so much in such little time. And now he’s the oldest coach to ever win a Super Bowl.

Bucco Bruce, you are Joe’s hero!

A tip of the kangol to Bruce. He can stick around and go for another ring or ride off into retirement on a high note. Enjoy the biscuit (and a few adult beverages) Coach, you earned it!

  9. Rod Munch Says:

Totally agree on coaching, Gruden winning with Dungy’s team, then doing absolutely nothing after that, easy W for Arians.

But ol’ sea hag Cynthia Frelund’s models predicted Bucs to lose, 3 times in the playoffs. She better go retool that thing.

That preseason No. 32 secondary she ranked sure did a job on Pat Mahomes, eh?

She’s wonderful to look at but she’s awful at analysis if you shut her computer off.

Congratulations to Arians, Leftwich, Bowles and staff, but Tom Brady is greatest Bucs’ coach because he taught and showed the players what it takes to win.

    Joe who is the MVP?

  21. FortMyersDave Says:

Hey Joe, tell Ira to start thinking about what he would say when (not if) he gets to present BA to the HOF committee because this win tonight puts him in HOF consideration.

  22. Colonel Angus Says:

Joe, she has a great body, but something about that face unsettle’s me!

  23. matthew veal Says:

No one gave joe more heat than me in the past, but lets face it.. Joe knows football.

I don’t know the right words to say I’m glad to be wrong. I don’t plan to argue any time soon with him.

I loved both McKays, chucky, Tony, Doug, all the guys…but Joe is. right

  29. lambchop Says:

Gotta give huge credit to Byron Leftwich and Todd Bowles. They run the show on the daily.

Thank you to Geraldini, Koetter, VH3, Kwon, and Jameis. We replaced each one of them and got a hell of a lot more in return.

  30. lambchop Says:

BA was due a SB. The man has been successful pretty much every where he’s been. There’s a fine line when you’re a player’s coach and the man really knows how to straddle it to get the most from his players.

Jason Licht deserves a lot of credit for getting the HC and QB. Those two combined changed the culture around here.

Man, it’s good to be on top. I did not expect this at all after losing to the Bears and almost losing to the Giants. We peaked at the right time, but only Brady could have extracted this kind of performance with a new team and offense.

Gronk came to play on the biggest stage. Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, and Scotty Miller had been bottled up pretty good. But, Brady, Fournette, Gronk, and AB made the difference. AB will be even better next season. His first step to get off press coverage is insane.

  31. SOEbuc Says:

Not like I’m not loving my Bucs right now, but BA has said multiple times he does nothing. Chucky is better.

  32. Señor Harry in Costa Rica Says:

Great point Joe. BA is the man. What an impressive turnaround.

  33. Jim Says:

Too often coaches want to show they are the reason for winning. The good ones, like Arians, just get the best out of their players and staff. Been an Arians fan from the get-go; he’s smart and got heart.

  34. Sorryjackchuckiesback Says:

So proud of them guys man!! They earned every bit of it!! …. I could have for sure done without the “black national anthem” because I think the American national anthem is for us all of ALL colors!! It symbolizes our freedom and also what black people as a culture had fought through and got through as a people!! They want to keep slavery in everyone mind because they don’t want you to know you were strong enough to over come that without them!! In fact in spite of them!! … It’s time for this country to come together! One people, one flag, one anthem and one goal… Freedom!!! We need that togetherness to overcome the corruption in Washington!! They want to keep us divided with stuff like the black national anthem!! Their biggest fear is us uniting and holding them accountable for their corruptions!!!!… Sorry that got off track… But yes I could but be happier for this great team!!! ✊🏿✊✊🏻✊🏽🇺🇸 ….. Let’s goooooooooooo

Somebody chisle a statue of this man.
