It was 13 years since the Bucs had seen a playoff game. It had been 18 years since they won one (a Super Bowl win).
And now they are back. They are the first team to play a home game in a Super Bowl.
The Bucs were a laughingstock. As Joe has written many times, the Bucs were the NFL’s fire hydrant in a dog park. Lousy coach after lousy coach came in there after Chucky left and for a while the coaches only got worse. From Raheem Morris to Greg Schiano to the atrocity of loser Lovie Smith.
And now, in Bucco Bruce Arians’ second season, the Bucs have reached the Super Bowl!
Joe can only respond the way Howard Stern responded in shocked glee when Charlie Sheen said he lived with two girls and would choose nightly, if not multiple times a night, which one he would sleep with that evening.
“This is just unbelievable to me!”
But it is real. A real freaking dream.

The best part is we get to nitpick the WIN instead of b!tch about the loss!!! Only the Bucs can beat the Bucs and even then we still find a way to win!!!!

When I picked Tampa Bay as my team, I imagined within ten years we’d make the superbowl. Going into work tonight will be oh so sweet. So proud to be a Bucs fan.

7 years ago it was Josh McCown wearing #12 and the Bucs were picking #1 overalls.
7 years later it’s Tom Brady wearing #12 and he gets the Bucs to the Super Bowl.
Jason Licht derserves a ton of credit he’s been here through thick and thin.

I cried. This team is absolutely a team of destiny. We are gonna beat either of these other teams. I would love to see Buffalo, but we’ll beat Mahomie as well. It does not matter at this point.
