Buccaneers 44, Falcons 27

January 3rd, 2021

The Bucs just finished 11-5 (their best since 2005) and they just scored their first winning season at home since 2008.

Oh, and Tom Brady just had the greatest season in the history of Tampa Bay quarterbacks.

What a Bucs team this is. The offense is a true freakin’ juggernaut. They can pass deep and succeed short, and run and punish defenders. And the quarterback’s decision-making is elite.

Today it was Antonio Brown with 11 catches for 138 yards alongside Chris Godwin with 5 catches for 133 yards. And Brady threw for 4 touchdowns and 399 yards. Only Scotty Miller’s drop that led to an interception blemished Brady’s day.

Joe’s going to give the Bucs defense a pass since it was missing Devin White and Shaq Barrett. But things have to improve on that side of the ball.

Major kudos to Sean Murphy-Bunting for two huge fourth-quarter plays that were pivotal in the game and hopefully kick his confidence up a notch entering the playoffs.

And what a nice comeback by Ronald Jones after busting his finger two weeks ago. He rolled up 78 yards on just 12 carries. (More later on the BS of not helping hit get to 1,000 yards later.)

Of course, the story of the day is the Mike Evans knee injury. Joe’s stomach is in knots waiting for answers, but it doesn’t look good.

Now Joe and all Bucs fans will wait to see what happens tonight. If Washington wins, the Bucs head there next weekend in the playoffs. If Washington loses, the Bucs go back to the Meadowlands to face the 6-10 Giants.

Nice win, but Evans injury based on what Joe’s is saying doesn’t look good. Glad to have AB on this team now, he is a monster !

  7. Bucfanforever Says:

Now Brady might have to set another personal best: beating the Giants in the postseason.

  8. Bird Says:

To all the trolls on open thread being negative and saying brady caused mike Evans injury and scotty miller turnover …cause brady is not jameis

Its time for you to take the arsenic filled koolaid and head up to the rocket ship
Bucs set record after record today
    Brady never punted. 40 tds.

He single handedly won the game.
I m happy that you losers are miserable
Go back into hiding and never come out
Comparing brady to jameis is just disrespectful

Looks like we might play Giants, if Washington drops tonight. They’re always a thorn in the side

    1. Great pick up of AB.
    2. Happy to see Rojo back.
    3. We only need Shaq back to beat Washington or NYG.

    Playoffs here we go.

  15. Buddha Says:

After seeing what happened to Evans who is likely out for the season why would the buccaneers risk Ronald Jones? Why

My posts always go to moderation. I’ve never made a comment worthy of moderation, but half my comments never make it to the thread. And I’ve only made less than 10 comments. Whats up Joe’s? I read every article every day of the year, but can’t get a rare comment posted? Frustrating for a loyal reader. Especially seeing what other comments are allowed.

  17. Rod Munch Says:

So why exactly do the Bucs need to play Scotty Miller more and AB less? LOL!

  18. Alanbucsfan Says:

Kudos to Ira Kaufman- his 11-5 prediction was spot on!

  19. 6throundpick Says:

Honestly, give me a real preseason, and this team goes 12-4, maybe 13-3. Regardless, they won the games they should have, and finished strongly.

  20. Coburn Says:

Don’t forget having Carlton Davis back would be huge as well. Disappointed in Dean. Staring to feel Davis, bunting, Cockrell could arguably be better. Just depends which Dean shows up

  21. Cobraboy Says:

So who do you want to play? The Washington FTFKAR (Football Team Formerly Known as Redskins) or the Jints?

  22. Alvin Scissors Harper Says:

I’m just hoping for an unseasonably warm, nice day in NY or Washington.

  23. 68%fraud Says:

@bird, are you an admin person? Why is your name in all red and much smaller and everyone else’s name is black? Mobile @joe?

  24. Redwarrior Says:

Brady experience with NYG in 2 Super Bowls is not good. Of course, no Manning this time around. We want Washington.

  25. Bucsgotachance..todonothing Says:

Here i am pointing put all you brady haters..you losers who hated on the most successful qb in history.
Please admit who you are and pay the proper respect now.

  26. Bird Says:

    68% fraud

Not sure. Red = danger and soon to be banned?
    Lol
I have been known to bust chops on joes (all sarcasm of course) but dont think they like me to much

  27. Buczilla Says:

Awesome game and an even better season. Hopefully Mike will be good to go next week.

  28. Jim Says:

Nice to see 1st down pass plays,..something changed.

  29. DavidBigBucsFan99 Says:

That’s how you close out a 4th quarter, turn a 3 point lead into a 17 point win and give up no 1st down on their final drive

  30. ItzOK Says:

Thank God for Tom Brady. Jesus this guy is soo damn clutch. Hes been perfect in December I have no doubts about him leading the Bucs into the postseason.
