Bring On The Giants!

January 3rd, 2021

Impotent offense

Joe’s all jacked up for the Bucs to head to New Jersey (hopefully next Sunday) to face the 6-10 Giants.

For that to happen, the Eagles must beat Washington in Philadelphia tonight. If not, the Bucs instead will play the team with no name from the nation’s capital.

Today was the first time the Giants scored more than 20 points since November 15. Their offense resembles the Mike Glennon-led Bucs offense of 2013.

New York quarterback Daniel Jones made 14 starts this year and racked up just 11 touchdowns against 10 interceptions. That’s horrendous in the modern NFL.

Simply stated, the Giants do not have the firepower to compete with the Bucs, even without Mike Evans. And there’s no chance the Bucs will look past the Giants.

Let’s go Eagles!

Careful what you wish for. Any QB can carve up our soft zone coverages for 3 quarters.

  2. rrsrq Says:

Daniel Jones grows in confidence when he sees the Bucs on the schedule (he all of a sudden becomes Danny Dimes)

  3. Chris@Apple Roof Cleaning Tampa Says:

We BARELY beat the Giants, or have we forgotten ?
I am hoping we play Washington instead. But the way we are playing lately, no team really wants to play us!

  4. Bird Says:

    Brady final numbers of season

4633 yards and 40 tds and 12 interceptions
    Unbelievable
He put team on his back today

  5. Bucsjunkie Says:

Next Saturday and Sunday it will be in the 20’s and 30’s in East Rutherford. Not sure it’s a good idea for the Bucs to play there. TB and Grant may be ok but the rest of the team may struggle in that weather…

  6. Bucsjunkie Says:

    Gronk*

  7. Alvin Scissors Harper Says:

Sweet Jesus, if we can’t beat the NFC Least winner, we don’t deserve to be in the playoffs! They all stink, and remember they play each other a total of 6 times which is where most of their wins probably come from.

  8. ncbucsfan Says:

Why y’all acting like the Redskins aren’t in play to have 7 wins and be who we face?

  9. SteveK Says:

    Go Bucs!

I share this sentiment too. I’d rather face Daniel Jones than Alex Smith. But, it’s all good either way- we took care of business today!

Brady is a boss and his production combined with efficiency is the reason we are in the playoffs. Go Bucs!

  10. Rod Munch Says:

I was hoping for the Cowboys since they have a bad defense – meanwhile our defense stinks and isn’t going to be able to stop anyone, regardless of if it’s the Cowboys or Giants, so I’d rather match up with the bad defense on our offense.

In any case the Bucs need to beat either the Redskins or the Giants, if not, they shouldn’t be here. But people should not get overconfident. The Bucs barely got past the Giants earlier this year, and the Redskins have a legitimately top tier defense, the kind that gives the Bucs offense fits.

  11. tmaxcon Says:

This is a perfect game to render the season meaningless. Every backup has his best day against the bucs Jones will be no different. Make no mistake about it Jones is a backup. Bucs are dysfunctional pretenders trying to buy a quick trip to the post season with washed up goats and coaches. Nothing to see here.

Joe you have an obligation to your readers with faith this team has NO shot against a NFL caliber defense or offense.

55 and Dungy the Clown confused you that mediocrity was greatness now BA and his clown posse has given false hope to a desperate fan base.

There is no easy or sure win for the buc franchise they prove that over and over again.

Go Big Blue send the pretenders home!

  12. Bird Says:

Todd bowles is officially off Arthur Blank head coach list

I mean our pass defense is so bad it seems like we got some dbs that are legally blind. Kudos to SMB getting turnovers but that guy is burnt toast every single down.

  13. TheBucsAnthem Says:

The Bucs defense today absolutely made me wanna throw-up in my own mouth and then re-swallow………DISGUSTING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Bucs better fix this pass defense fast or else they ain’t going no where in the playoffs………..ONE-N-DONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Todd Bowles………tighten up that defense!!!!!!!!!!!!

  14. Tye Says:

As many players that are out for the Eagles in thatgame, the Redskins have the advantage to win the division!

  15. Georger Says:

The Bucs were missing 2 of the top 3 pass rushers plus their top talker. I’ll give them a pass

  16. DavidBigBucFan99 Says:

Everybody wants to play this defense.

  17. Bangkok Buc Says:

    Tmax,
Did you seriously just cheer for the Giants to knock out the Bucs???
Why are you on this site you troll??? GTFOH

  18. Rod Munch Says:

TJmaxx – I thought you got the COVID and had passed. Too bad 🙁

  19. SCBucsFan Says:

Bangkok don’t bait him. He’s been quiet all season and is returning to try to get under fans skin for the playoffs. A year may have passed but he hasn’t changed.

  20. firethecannons Says:

we barely beat the Giants before maybe washington is best for us

  21. Bangkok Buc Says:

LOL sorry SC, tough to let that one slide man.
That guy is a sad, sad human being.

Sh!t, He would be good if he got to 5,000 yards with 30 something turnovers… I just don’t know how I should feel about Brady only getting 4600 yards. I mean, yards ARE production.

    Tmaxipad… STFU! what a f@cking idiot.

  23. Alvin Scissors Harper Says:

Tmax, “washed up goats?” Do you watch the games from your soup kitchen? Come on man. Brady had a historically good season. He’s by far the best QB the Bucs have ever had.

  26. Bird Says:

    Tmax

Your back. Surprised. You only come out when bucs lose.
How miserable you must be. Playoffs got you smoking extra meth
We knew you were never a buc fan and just a troll
Rooting for big blue and bucs to lose. Not a shocker

Remember when you said jameis would go down as greatest buc ever
    😂
I mean that was an easy giveaway
So are you a saints fan or just a loser?
You got participation awards as a kid. Didnt you?

  27. kgh4life Says:

The Bucs did struggle the first time facing the Giants, however, Brady now has film on the Giants defense and won’t be fooled twice. If the Bucs commit to the run and play more aggressive on defense they will win comfortably.

  28. alton green Says:

folks I hope we don’t face Alex Smith. Like Matty Ice he is a really good QB. Both will take what Bowles gives then. Confused? 5,8.15,6,10,5,7.7 yards. all the way down the field. Are our corners so damn bad that they have a phobia about getting beat long. Our defense will be a round team because Alex will carve our corners just like Ryan did. TWICE!!!!!

  29. BuccoDav Says:

    Bird,
I would be surprised if Tmaxipad ever participated in anything productive…

  30. Sourbob Says:

alton green agreed doesn’t matter who we face, our secondary WILL GET TORCHED. Our dline should keep the run in check, the key will be keeping Brady upright and clean and scoring. OUTSCORE!

  31. ModHairKen Says:

Who cares who the Bucs play? Either win or go home. If they can’t beat NO or GB, what does it matter if they win against a losing NFC East team first?

  32. BradyBucs Says:

    THE GIANTS!????????

You’ve gotta be crazy if you want to face the Giants on the road in the playoffs. The Giants are BRADY KILLERS. He has terrible luck against them.

    We’re better off playing Washington.

  33. Bangkok Buc Says:

Washington scares me more due to their awesome D-Line. Brady’s kryptonite in playoffs is pressure in his face. Think I like our chances more vs Giants. Either way, better than at Seahawks or Saints or Packers so….. Go Bucs

  34. Allbuccedup Says:

Leonard Williams had 3 sacks against one of the best offensive lines in the NFL. I would rather have the Washington football team. Plus we barely beat the Giants before.

  35. David Says:

I absolutely agree. I think they destroy the Giants. I think they would’ve destroyed the Cowboys as well. They barely beat the Giants earlier in the year and they made every mistake possible and tried to give that game away, and still won.

The Redskins have a fantastic front seven on defense, that can be an equalizer against any team

  36. Chesapeake Bay Bucco Says:

Bad news: Giants beat us last year. Good news: nothing daunting here!

  37. Jameisgirl1 Says:

Already beat the Giants.. only lost by a last minute missed field goal last year.. should be good in the first round… the goat is good when there isn’t a pass rush.. second round will be a different story. Our kicker will win this one.. the second round will be worrisome.. go Bucs

  38. Rod Munch Says:

Chesapeake – thanks for the post, I hadn’t even thought about that yet. Good to know. That home game vs the Bills should be huge, and the Bucs generally beat the Bills in Tampa. The first Bucs game I remember attending was a 3-10 Bucs beating a 11-2 Bills team in 1988.

  39. FortMyersDave Says:

I was at that game Rod Munch. A 10-5 slugfest with the Bucs winning it on a goal line stand when the Bills had a 4th and goal at the 1. One of the few bright spots in Ray Perkins’ tenure in Tampa……
