Tom Brady Is On Fire

December 27th, 2020

Red hot.

The past couple of weeks park-violating, home-invading, NFLPA-ignoring, down-forgetting, handshake-stiffing, jet-ski-losing, biscuit-baking Bucs quarterback Tom Brady has been playing NFL defenses like the late great Eddie Van Halen played guitars.

Ruthless, uncompromising and dominating.

Joe has a hunch Bucs brass and some fans, given the talent on the offensive side of the ball, envisioned Brady and all his receivers ripping apart defenses the way they have in the second half of the Dixie Chicks game a week ago and yesterday in the first half against toothless Lions.

Brady and the Bucs have been so lethal, per the ultimate stats outfit of record for the NFL, Elias Sports Bureau, the NFL has not seen anything like this in 40 years.

That is impressive stuff.

In those four quarters the Bucs rang up 65 points. If they just put up half that number in two weeks, they should be in a great position against a defense a little bit better than the four-win Dixie Chicks and the five-win Lions.

Joe thinks the folks saying Brady needs more time to learn his teammates can now look for a new excuse when/if the Bucs struggle again.

Ah but Tom Brady and Bruce Arians styles of football don’t mesh together, right? Glad to see it finally coming together. Next week will be a final warm-up before the competition stiffens up again.

  2. james west Says:

    damn man outstanding

  3. JWBucs Says:

The selection of skilled receivers on this Bucs Team provides marvelous assistance to Tom Brady over his most recent 4 quarters….

  4. stpetebucsfan Says:

If there is such a thing as a statement game yesterday came close. If it wasn’t the poor Lions people would be going nuts today and they still seem pretty impressed.

It’s like the Bucs did away with all their demons. Slow start…no sweat…too many receivers for Brady to satisfy…TD’s doled out to ME..Gronk..AB and CG..nobody got left out.

The defense got after it at the line of scrimmage. Yeah it’s the Lions but they are in the NFL…I thought our front seven played excellent. That seemed to give the young guys in the back a lift.

I want to play one more half of football. If we can get a decent…2 TD’s lead over the Dixie Chicks in the first half I’d like to give our stars a rest.

  5. Buc Buckner Says:

    Tom terrific.
    Terrific Tom.
    Tom the bomb.
    Go Bucs!!!

  6. Rob Says:

And gobbling up W’s. Go Bucs!

  7. JP09 Says:

    What a downgrade!

Watching Evans chase a record while winning was so damn exciting, glad to see Tom and BA push to get Evans the ball. Here’s to 40 more yards and one more win before the PLAYOFFS!!

  8. Casual Observer Says:

He has the best set of WRs in history to work with. That helps.

  9. geno711 Says:

Nobody is complaining about BL or BA play calling right now.

Brady wanted to come here for a reason more than just hanging in the Florida sun.

  10. 6throundpick Says:

The Bucs are dominant when they play with the lead. Great time to tune up; air ii out. Curiously, this team has been better on the road…and most of their playoff games wl be on the road. It’s all about peaking and being healthy at this time of year. This team is not a lucky entrant, but one that other teams would rather not deal with. Respect. Go Bucs!

  11. Aceofaerospace Says:

It’s nice to see the whole team eating “W’s”. Well, except for JPP. He has to settle for eating “V’s”.

  12. Bird Says:

But but but 33 tds was the legendary

Nah. Brady has 36 tds and 11 ints. Thats better then 3 to 1 ratio. That is a winning football formula.
And He has a chance at 40 tds.
And mike should get 1000 yds
Lets keep Christmas going a few weeks.

Say what you want but atlanta is a better team then people are giving credit.
They cant finish. Matty cant finish
If they beat atlanta good , look out. No one will want to see bucs matchup. Well maybe the saints but other then that.

And good week off for carlton davis. Hope he is ready to go next week.

  13. Bird Says:

    Aceofaerospace

    Jpp Eating V’s. 😂

  14. Listnfrmafar Says:

Brady has never had the complete pieces to his chest set. He is notorious for making receivers great,.now he has great receivers. This has to be a breath of fresh air and fun for him. It appears BA, BL & TB have come to a compromise, the mix bag. Oh anyone doubting the Singing eagle, party planner, tank top wearing, Fox flop, mic dropping, CBD pushing Gronk acquisition? He also oozes confidence which is infectious. Going into playoffs the backfield needs to be Rojo and Vaughn, those two are dangerous

  15. Tbbucs3 Says:

There’s really not much to take away from this game that we already didn’t know. We know the Bucs can beat up on easy opponents. The Lions are the worst opponent we will play all year.

Weather the Bucs can compete against quality opponents remains a mystery.

  16. TheBradyBunch Says:

For six quarters now the Bucs are playing as good as they have ever played. I even count the second half yesterday because even when they sat Brady and rotated in backups they were able to increase their insurmountable lead. I think it’s important to do it for 4 more quarters because it’s good for their confidence. Would be great to get to the playoffs flying high. A win also may give us a 5 spot and def the easiest matchup against Washington or whoever ends up winning the East. I am sure no one in the NFC will be looking forward to playing Tampa in the playoffs! Let’s @#%$ing Go!!!!!!!!!

  17. Gofortheface30 Says:

Other great offenses I can think of – the greatest show on turf Rams, the 90s 49ers and cowboys, the late 90s Broncos with Terrell Davis, the 98 Vikings, the chiefs of the past few years. No one, has done what the Bucs have done. Brady also was just a few yards short of the all time nodding record in the first half. Let that sink in. You jameis fans can take your 5k yards and shove it up your butthole, this version of the Bucs are showing glimpses of being a super power the league has never seen. We may lose the divisional or make it to nfc championship and lose that (which would be an amazing year btw) but you better that next yr – Vegas is going to have your Tampa bay Bucs as the OVERWHELMING favorites.

  18. SlyPirate Says:

I wonder how Bob Kraft and Bill Bellicheck are getting along right now.

  19. orlbucfan Says:

It was real nice watching M12 realize he’s got solid gold targets like ME13 and CG14 to throw to in the first half. Go break that NFL record, Sir Evans, and let’s finish out at 11-5. 😊🏈👍

  20. Marques Says:

Slow your roll there Joe. Have some perspective. the only He put up these numbers against nobody. The Lions are terrible and the Falcons are almost just as bad. We could be a one or two win team at best in the playoffs. I can can also see us one and done in the playoffs. We are not superbowl contenders yet. You’ve got to walk before you run. Just enjoy the fact we made the playoffs with a significant record.

  21. Jonathan Limpchimpi Says:

It’s hard not to be overly impressed with Mr. Brady. There’s an excellent limited time podcast about him…Tom Brady:The Goat by Gary Meyers ( a distant 2nd to Ira’s show of course 😉 )…Brady is simply a rare breed…in large part due to his desire even over talent.

  22. stpetebucsfan Says:

“Weather the Bucs can compete against quality opponents remains a mystery.”

Is Green Bay in the playoffs? Are they a quality opponent?

  23. Gofortheface30 Says:

Marques, captain puddinghead, if it was so easy everyone would do it. They did something nobody has done. So you can go f right off with your little micro penis qualifying statement of “yeah but, they haven’t played anyone.” F outta here

  24. JimBuc2 Says:

Brady hot? Oh, yes! On Fire VH? Not so much. I’ll take SRV, Clapton, Joe Bonamosa, J Hendrix, Carlos Santana, or Mark Knopfler over Eddie any day. Not forgetting that our Buccaneers in the playoffs is the hottest jam in the last dozen years.
    Go Bucs!

  25. mark2001 Says:

Really..the hardest thing in football and the easiest is the key.

Run game keeping the D honest.

    Good Offensive line blocking

Receivers getting open or getting separation and catching the ball…

    Defensively.

    Stop the run

    Pass rush

    Coverage

    Bonuses…Create some turnovers.

Special Teams…make FG’s, Punt well, and cover kicks.

    Simple….right?

  26. mark2001 Says:

    Brady can do the rest…..

  27. mg Says:

    TB-12 makes everyone better

  28. Tbbucs3 Says:

    Stpete

The Bucs are 1-4 against quality opponents.

    Saints Twice
    Rams
    Chiefs.

I’m not going to head into these playoffs overly optimistic because we beat the Lions.

  29. RSJCheapSeats Says:

    Impressive performance.

Hopefully, we someone else beats the Saints (we do not match up well with them) because we can beat everyone else in the NFC.

  30. Listnfrmafar Says:

Am I the only one that saw a team and coaching staff not in sync lose to the Bears by 1, Rams by 3 and defending SB champs KC by 3. That’s not far off from a 13-2 record. They played BAD on both sides of the ball at and still made it a slugfest. Wouldn’t want to be the DC trying to come up with a scheme for this O. Good Luck! Bucs are.no one and done team.

  31. Mike Johnson Says:

LMAO. You guys forgot to complete the title sentence. Tom Brady is on fire as long as our O line blocks and he does not get the big pass rush. There, I completed it for you. He will not be on fire against playoff teams that bring the D heat.

  32. Listnfrmafar Says:

He has played in many playoff games and even superbowls with far less. The receivers are quickly getting on same page, ball coming out quicker = TB success.

  33. El Buco Realisto Says:

We will see how “hot” the old cheating goat is when he throws TWO int’s in the loss of the wildcard playoff game!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What will the sheep say then when the “All In” equates to One and done with nothing to show for it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Enjoy it now sheep!!!!!!!!! “Reality is right around the corner”!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    go bucs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  34. alton green Says:

margues says. I don’t think there is a player in history thatsay “i’ll be happy with a participation trophy” BEFORE you play the 1st playoff game hahahaaha

  35. 1sparkybuc Says:

The Bucs can beat any team in the league. Unfortunately, they can also lose to any team in the league. I remember the first half of the fowlgoons game. They are motivated by revenge. Consistency is still an issue. Put four quarters together in the same game, and I will feel more confident. GO BUCS

  36. D-Rome Says:

To no one’s surprise TMAX is nowhere to be seen.

  37. tkiv18 Says:

TB12 has been as advertised; the guy is amazing. 43 years old, new team, new players… he’s done it all and more. 36 TD’s to 11 picks. Had he played another quarter yesterday he’d likely have 38 TD’s… Brady is the GOAT and his play this year, given all the circumstances, only reaffirms that fact.

Realisto, calling folks “sheep” for enjoying a playoff season lead by the single most successful winner of all time at QB, is a little much. I was fully a JW3 supporter, but Brady has done (at 43, new team, etc.) in one year what Jameis couldn’t get accomplished in 5. Brady lights it up week-to-week and rarely costs his team. His run here will be bittersweet given his age when he signed, but I would not be shocked to see him play past his initial 2-year deal. And I’m happy to watch us compete for the playoffs as long as he’s here.

  38. Joe Says:

To no one’s surprise TMAX is nowhere to be seen.

    LOL! 😆

  39. HomerSimpsonRocks Says:

Agree. But unfortunately they won’t be playing the Falcons or the Lions in the playoffs.

  40. Oneilbucs Says:

I understand how some of yall feel about the team beating these bad teams and losing against good teams . I feel you but we have to stick together as a fan base . I didn’t like the Brady move at first and I still don’t think it was a good move for the team long term . But I’m a bucs fan and I want to see us win it all this year . We can debate in the off season on what’s the next move for the future of the team . But for right now let’s stick together as a fan base !!! Go bucs !!!

  41. Oneilbucs Says:

And remember it’s a team game not a quarterback game it’s going to take the hold team to win not just the quarterback . So give credit to the hold team not just the quarterback when win . But then blame the hold team other than Brady when we lose !! They win as a team and lose as a team … Key word is team !!!! Go Bucs !!!

  42. Joe Says:

And remember it’s a team game not a quarterback game

So says the 1960s single-wing high school coach. smh.

  43. Oneilbucs Says:

Joe I know you apart of the media and you guys have been pushing the hold quarterback thig . But it is a team game and to many times I’ve seen so many excuses made for certain quarterback while at the same time other quarterbacks gets no excuses regardless how bad the team is and coaching .

  44. mark2001 Says:

We have been close in most every game this year, with the second NO game exception, with Brady early in the process of meshing with the WR’s and the offense. Now the weather has moderated during practices, and Brady and the guys are honing their connections. Honestly, I’m not worried about this Offense.

I’m not as sure about the defense, particularly in the pass defense area. If they can play well, I think the sky is the limit.

  45. Youngbucs Says:

Oneilbucs just give it a rest dude Brady was the right choice! And is the difference maker. Just admit you where wrong you’re human talking bout a 43 year old QB. Eat your humble pie bro it’s levels to playing QB. Stop trying to down play Brady’s achievements this year we all know it’s a team game. Stop trying to tell us to stick together we been doing that it’s you and a couple others who are butt hurt over a barely average QB.

  46. Youngbucs Says:

    Check yo sheets!!!!!

  47. Youngbucs Says:

This why I can’t take these dude’s serious oneibucs says it’s not a QB gm smh. Then why every team trying to find the next great oneil??? Stop your bull you nothing about football and it shows.

  48. Youngbucs Says:

And stop pushing your false narratives Brady has gotten his criticism all year when he deserved it just stop. Everyone knows the QB gets the love when you win and the blame when you lose. It comes with the territory that’s how the nfl has always been stop acting like winston some victim it getting old already.

  49. Youngbucs Says:

Joe don’t mind oneilbucs he’s a 1of1 fan boy it’s the media fault it’s the Bucs fault Bruce is a backstabbing coach blah blah blah dude Brady is better it’s just facts.

  50. Robert James Says:

if brady throws 19 ints aginst the falcons then its basicaly the same year as what winston did last year

  51. Robert James Says:

oneielbucs has never played a team sport and must be so much fun at parties

  52. Oneilbucs Says:

Youngbucs again this is a short window with a 43 year old quarterback . Facts or facts we still haven’t beaten a good team other than the Packers . Yall make every thing about Jamies and I still stand on until we beat good teams we haven’t done nothing . It’s still superbowl or bust . If we don’t win the superbowl this season will be a bust . And again the media has a narrative to push and that’s the quarterback position . I will never believe that a quarterback wins games on his own . But don’t act like Brady wasn’t giving every thing he needed to win with !! We didn’t give Jamies a running game but 1 year . Jamies only had a runningback to rush for a 100 yards twice in 4 years . We missed on the hold 2016 draft class so facts or facts. We changed the playbook for Brady as well just like I been saying. But at the same time I hope the bucs win . I’m not a blind bucs fan either we haven’t beaten a real team yet but once . We are 1 and 4 against playoff teams so people do have a point. Again cookie you are a media sheep and a uncle Tom !!! Facts !!!

  53. Youngbucs Says:

    🥱🥱🥱🥱🥱🥱

  54. Youngbucs Says:

Brady is better than jameis that facts enough for you. That’s all that matters the Bucs upgraded at QB. Who cares his age you live in a fantasy world future future. You have to win in the nfl jobs on the line players coaches gms. Yea let’s keep sitting around and wait for our QB to get it in his 6 year oh and give him a big contract also. No thx Brady money well spent good job bucs!!!!

  55. Oneilbucs Says:

We will see in the playoffs remember we are 1 and 5 against playoff teams . And you can’t compare a quarterback that’s been playing 20 years to one that’s been playing 5 years cookie . That’s common sense . Just like I said we have to win the superbowl no excuses . Playoffs is not good enough !!!

  56. Youngbucs Says:

Mighty oneilbucs would it be super bowl or bust with jameis??????? Or just bust?????? Yea that’s what I thought only 1 team is happy at the end of the
Year. Y’all nut huggers swear y’all saying something when y’all say super bowl or bust. So if the Bucs fail it’s like vindication for y’all get a life dude. Even if the Bucs don’t win Brady was the right choice you 🤡. And you wanna know why???? Because he gives them a realistic chance realistic hope. So just stfu up I’m done with you keep talking. And real Bucs fans know this you a grown as man act like it.

  57. Youngbucs Says:

Don’t talk to me about common sense you lack it. So who can we compare jameis to oneil?????? There are QBs in the league in their 1st year right now and second and 3rd years who are better. For example Herbert is having a better season right now than Winston ever had. It’s not equaling wins but you can evaluate QBs individually who would have thought. Josh Allen Watson Ryan freaking tannehill has put up better numbers the past couple of years and it’s not just because he has a run gm bro. He’s accurate and makes good decisions y’all so blinded by Winston y’all think he better than everybody put he’s play doesn’t prove that.

  58. Youngbucs Says:

I can give you a perfect example I’m a knick fan. John starks was my favorite player I loved him. The got rid of him for Allen Houston I was crushed. I hated it but life went on and the games were played. And I came to realize Houston was a beast he was an upgrade.

  59. Oneilbucs Says:

Cookie you the one who worry about Jamies more than any body on this site . The problem with people like you is yall wouldn’t know a franchise quarterback if one fell in your lap . Back in the 80s and early 90s I grew up a Oilers fan so I know what a franchise hall of fame quarterback looks like . I became a bucs fan after the Oilers left in the late 90s . And Moon never had a running game and he had a inconsistent defense. The same problems the bucs has been having since the superbowl year. So I rather have a long term wining team then a one hit wonder like last time . Brady is ok but he’s not long term. I want long term success that’s where I stand . So you keep worry about Jamies he must have slept with your gril or something !!
