“That’s All We’re Talking About”

December 25th, 2020

Lavonte David and Devin White loved each other for the postgame cameras in Atlanta on Sunday.

Joe loves getting a peek inside the locker room at One Buc Palace.

Joe suspects it’s a significantly different scene from what Tom Brady is accustomed to experiencing.

“About five weeks ago I started putting up the playoff seedings in our meetings every Wednesday. Don’t be afraid to talk about it. This is what we play for,” Bucco Bruce Arians told SiriusXM NFL Radio recently. “This week, we win we’re in. That’s all we’re talking about …”

Is that how it goes down in New England? Joe highly doubts that, but Joe is all in favor of Arians take a more realistic and eye-opening approach for his roster.

Joe asked Jamel Dean this week about whether players were talking a lot about the playoffs, or whether it was sort of a taboo topic and a one-game-at-a-time mentality was the edict. Dean replied that playoff talk is a big thing among players.

Joe followed up to ask whether Dean had any childhood memory of the Bucs in the playoffs. And Dean replied that he wasn’t much of an NFL fan at all, that his football thing was playing not watching.

Dean’s reply further illustrates that it’s important for Arians to educate his team on the playoffs and the consequences of each game. Not every player fully grasps the stakes.

Joe had a childhood friend who was a stud high school pitcher with an 86 miles per hour fastball. Professional scouts knew his name, but he probably didn’t know 10 Major League Baseball players. No interest in being a baseball fan whatsoever.

If the Bucs clinch a playoff berth tomorrow, it could happen with a win or a loss, Arians said a celebration will be forthcoming immediately. \

“There’s a moment of celebration to know you’re in the dance,” Arians said. “You know, there’s still another game to play and then we’ll celebrate at the end of the year.”

Pretty pumped about playoff ramification football.

I’m also pretty pumped to say I have zero clue or projected draft position and I haven’t looked at who the top players are in college football. I want to pick 32nd!

    Go Bucs!

    In BA I Trust!

I read some earlier posts about Evens needing XXX amt of yds to set a record. I pray that no-one says anything to Tompa. That’s not Tom. Wanna know what the Buc’s average record was for the 6 seasons he caught 1000 yds? 5.5wins-10.5 losses. If you own a TV and have ever watched Tompa play, you know what he is known for. Targeting multiple receivers along with RBs. That’s why defenses hated to face him. They NEVER knew where the ball was going to. I hope nobody thinks Tom will target Evans just to set a record. MAYBE if we got a big lead. after 14 games, you knmow what the odds of that are hahaha. Come on coach, give Tom the keys

Don’t really care how many yards Evans gets, and I doubt he cares either as long as they win, and are in. I’d rather see him comfortably on the bench for the whole 4th quarter because we have such a big lead. I hope they’re all sitting on the bench while Gabby is throwing T.D.’s to Johnson, and Vaughn is running the ball. That’s what I’d like to see.
