Playoff Readiness

December 19th, 2020

Two Buccaneers legends, speaking on different days this week, shared a common desire when it comes to the Bucs’ performance tomorrow against Atlanta.

And it sort of played out perfectly this evening.

Joe’s referring to Derrick Brooks and Rondé Barber.

Barber ranted on the Bucs’ slow starts on both sides of the football. Brooks referenced how the Bucs “have to dominate,” and winning like they did against the Vikings last week just isn’t good enough to reach their ultimate goals.

(Joe would recommend fans hit those links and dive deeper into what Barber and Brooks had to say.)

Today, Joe turned on the TV to watch the Bills (10-3) take on the 5-8 Broncos in Denver. The Broncos had been playing better over the past month with wins over the Panthers and Dolphins. And what did the Bills do? They mauled Denver 48-19.

Yeah, Buffalo had a special teams turnover in the first half and they only had a one-score lead at halftime, but this game was over before the start of the fourth quarter.

That’s what the Bucs must do tomorrow. Go look like a thunderous playoff team.

And then go out and do it in the final two regular-season games.

Shift the culture from talented and good — to lethal, precise and physical.

This is the time of year when style points matter because you’re preparing for the playoffs. Start fast, play smart and execute. That should be enough to beat the Falcons by 17 points.

    I’d love to see it.

Another reason to blow out the Falcons is the opportunity to begin resting some of our stars, and maybe even more importantly getting some more reps for replacements just ahead of a playoff run.

No excuses …. win the damn game … next 2 weeks two teams are going to try and ruin our chances … we have to put the dagger in them …. this team regardless of no mini camps or pre season games … this team should be hitting on all cylinders by now

Better have ATLANTA READINESS — this playoff bullspit is bullspit. This team has one win against a playoff team — Packers — on an off day for them.

The GOAT has had two chance to lead two minute drives to victoryt and gagged ferociously on both attenpts. I’ll be surprised if the Bucs don’t gag it out. Not sold, the win against the Vikings was a gift. This team is still a group of all stars who don’t gel.

I’ll be happy if the Bucs slop by with a Ginats-esque win tomorrow. This team is so disjointed, there is no soul to it and its obvious.

seriously? Style points matter in the NFL ?? Dungys ears are bleeding. Only in college does that matter. Ill take 11-5 with a 4 game win streak if we win each game by a point. You win your in there is no panel who decides who scored more and looked good doing it gets into the playoffs. Maybe you mean if the team squeaks out these last few wins it will not do much for momentum and confidence? I disagree but at least I can understand that line of thought.
