Bucs Win 47-7, Return To The NFL Playoffs!!!

December 26th, 2020

FINALLY!!!

What a day of celebration for Buccaneers fans everywhere, especially for the guys at JoeBucsFan.com world headquarters.

Finally, finally, finally! The Bucs are back in the playoffs.

Joe’s ecstatic. Hell, Joe doesn’t even care that Ryan Succop has caught the Aguayo-Gay virus.

It’s officially no longer embarrassing to walk around Publix wearing Bucs gear. No more laughs at the beach when Joe lays out the Buccaneers towel.

The 12-year playoff drought is over and the Bucs are a good team, not some lucky patsy waiting to get annihilated in the Wild Card round of the playoffs.

After today’s pasting of the Lions, 47-7, Tampa Bay is riding a three game winning streak, their second three-game win streak of this season. A week from Sunday should make four straight, an 11-5 record and a team peaking at the right time with the No. 5 seed locked up.

Joe started this here blog in August of 2008, and Joe has toiled every day, 24/7, waiting for this moment to return. The Big Storm beers are flowing now and will be all night long and tomorrow.

Kudos to Bucco Bruce Arians for doing the right thing today and pumping the ball to Mike Evans to help him get the all-time record of seven consecutive seasons of 1,000 yards receiving or more to open a career. Evans finished with 181 yards today on 10 receptions with two touchdowns. He’s just 40 yards shy of the record, easily attainable against Atlanta in the season finale.

Additional love for Devin White scoring his ninth sack and being all over the field making plays, and what can Joe say about Tom Brady. Wow!

But today’s not about the final score. It’s about justice and decency for long suffering Bucs fans. Enjoy it, guys. Savor it.

And get ready for the playoffs!!

  6. UKBuccaneer Says:

If we ride this undefeated streak to a Lombardi, will Joe do a piece about the lucky bucs tattoo that I had done in the bye?

  7. Wesley Says:

    The hell are the playoffs?

  8. Rod Munch Says:

If the stupid Chargers kicker makes his kick vs the Saints, the Bucs are still playing for the top seed in the NFC.

  9. Rico 210 Says:

I’m losing my sh!t. Damn it man!!! Playoffs baby
    Go Bucs

  10. dmatt Says:

Please lets sit Fournette and keep Keshawn Vaughn in as starter until RoJo returns. Also, the defense must get aggressive going into the playoffs.

  11. BigPoppaBuc Says:

So friggin pumped!!! They looked really strong today!

  12. Bankieb Says:

    PLAYOFFS!!!!!!

  13. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

We could win in the playoffs. I mean, this Lions team is historically bad, and their starting QB gets injured every time the wind blows…but we’ve got one of the best defenses and a top offense.

we COULD go all of the way.

  14. Tbbucs3 Says:

The playoff factor is cool but from the game itself there is not much to takeaway from this game….The Lions are a shattered organization.

The Bucs still have major issues in the pass defense to figure out.

  15. Seattle Buc is back in TB Says:

Finally. Arrow pointing up for post season. Lets go!

  16. Oxycondoms Says:

Who are bucs most likely playing if 5th seed is locked
    Up?

  17. René Says:

I am mexican, have been a Bucs fan since I went to NO to watch a game back in 1998 which the Bucs won. I’m lovin’ this season. Have to confess I was not a Brady fan but I love the team he put together and this season has been great. Analysts can say what they will but I see this team going deep into the playoffs! Go Bucs!

  18. Miller5252 Says:

It’s about time!! A lot of sad years being a Buc fan and you can now be proud to sport some Tampa gear! Next week when they win, den of depression gets put on the shelf and since the Seahawks will beat the Rams this week, the Bucs will be playing the Football team in the playoffs!! Go Bucs!!! Brought the goat to do exactly what happened….. playoff bound!!!

  19. Leighroy Says:

Steve Smith is just showering disrespect on the NFL Network postgame, saying the Bucs will get routed in the playoffs. ndog has been outed as Steve Smith!!

  20. Tbbucs3 Says:

    Bonzai

A 25th ranked pass defense doesn’t really get my hopes up

  21. Robert James Says:

34 tds and 11 turnover… and it didn’t even seem like they were clicking

  22. RiodeJaneiroBucsFan Says:

So happy!!!! Playoffs, baby!!! Go Bucs!!!

  23. The Red Mirage Says:

They aren’t laughing at you because of your towel.

  24. Crispy Says:

Highly recommended- go to NFL standings. See the letter next to Tampa Bay designating “clinched playoff berth”.

  25. Miller5252 Says:

Leighroy, saw that too. Steve Smith just hammered the Bucs after the 40 point railing of the Lions….. I hope he’s wrong….. but Steve Smith just said exactly what the Bucs have done against good teams so far and that’s 0. Great day to be a Bucs fan but I’m worried about what Smith said.

  26. Rod Munch Says:

Would love to see the Redskins lose out, which is completely possible, and the Cowboys to win out – then we’d face them, which would be our best matchup. Still not thrilled with the matchup with the Redskins, it would be a slow track against a good defense – sure, our defense could shut them down, but they are the type of team that has killed the Bucs offense this year. The Cowboys meanwhile, they’d be the best matchup with a weak defense and a mediocre offense. But I’d take either of those over playing the Eagles who suddenly look like a legit playoff team – although with a rookie QB who never know who would show up.

In any case the Bucs need to put away the Falcons next week for any of that to matter, so they can’t be resting guys unless they get a blowout like today.

  27. Gettinthebucs Says:

They finally looked like complete team today. Its helps that we played the lions but dominance is something they needed to show in a game like this. Just happy to see at least one bucs game in January. Let’s go get this chip baby. GOBUCS🏴‍☠️

  28. Buc Buckner Says:

    We’re in like pork skins.

  29. JustBucNwin Says:

    Finally!!!!!!! Let’s make a run!

  30. Bucszntkt2005 Says:

Joe, it’s not the Bucs towel they are laughing at when you go to the beach ! 🙂

  31. Rod Munch Says:

Miller5252 – they destroyed the Packers, so yeah, they have one quality win. But outside of that he’s correct, the Bucs defense, in particular, has been awful vs good offenses and run up their stats against bad offenses. The offense has been mostly OK outside of that Saints game and the Bears game – but they’re getting hot at the right time. Sure, it’s three bad defenses in a row to close out the year, but getting in a flow is important, which they are doing.

  32. Anonymous Says:

    Man can’t believe it

  33. Seemore Bucs Says:

Congratulations to the Bucs and every Buc fan who has had to suffer since 2007. We are in the playoffs. Work isn’t done, though. We have a game to win next week in hopes of getting the #5 seed and watching Mike Evans 1,000 yard season make NFL History. GO BUCS!!!!!!!!!!

  34. GreG Says:

    Hallelujah!

  35. DoooshLaRue Says:

Hey Joe, great win, great day but are you sure the towel was the reason for all the laughter at the beach?

    You are from Iowa right?
    😀

  36. Miller5252 Says:

I agree Rod, momentum is huge in sports. Just look at the Giants Super Bowl run, so I agree. I just worry that any good D they have played, when it was on prime time, the team has laid some pretty bad eggs. As a Bucs fan though, I’ve learned to have a short memory, so as long as they win next week I’ll pick em for the Super Bowl at home!!

  37. james west Says:

Man a toast to TB12-ME13- CG14- the Gronk, AB, Mr Brate, our RB corps, to our magnificent D line, and not to forget the men who without, this teams heartbeat, TB 12 could not get it done what a job ya’ll have done this season, the offensive line R Jensen, A marpet, D Smith, A Cappa, and all world outstanding phenom Tristan Wirfs, THANK YOU ALL LFG BUCS!!!!!!!!!!

  38. james west Says:

Now let’s make ME 13 a gold jacket, luv ya’s LFG BUCS

  39. orlbucfan Says:

Well, ME13 and CG14 got more balls thrown to them in the first half. What a difference. Pattern needs to repeat next week against Hotlanta.

  40. Sourbob Says:

james west,oh they’ll get it for him

  41. Bucsfan951 Says:

  44. Chris L Says:

We (they) did it joe! So psyched for players like lavonte and Evans to finally get this. We’re all fans and have been for a while. I am so excited and happy this monkey is off our back. Now let’s go kick ass! Only winning from here until we win in February 7th!!!

  45. ModHairKen Says:

Too bad the WRs are all upset because they are not getting enough passes, according to Shaun Kings and Ian Beckles.

  46. Kyle Says:

    Way to go bucs!

  47. Robin bell Says:

All good from here 12 is the man can’t wait for next season go bucs🏈🏁

  48. DavidBigBucFan99 Says:

This was almost a complete game of not for our not so special teams. Biggest thing not spoken about is the defense kept them under 200 yards and from scoring. This easily could’ve been 52-0 if special teams had been a little more special, but I’m not complaining because the rest of the team did its job and got it done. Now they gotta sweep Atl out the way the way they did Detroit, that would be a great way to end the year if they hang 49 on them!

  49. Listnfrmafar Says:

TB12 has the team believing they can win, that’s powerful motivation going into the playoffs. Don’t get the negativity how can anyone deny when clicking this team can pumble anyone. 9 points away from 3 more wins this year to teams with players who have played together. The oil may finally reached the pistons in this machine.
