Bucs Rally For The Ages

December 20th, 2020

Raheem Claus.

Merry Christmas!

The Dixie Chicks decided to play Santa Claus and in the process, the Bucs had their second-greatest comeback in franchise history.

Per Scott Smith of Buccaneers.com, the 17-point rally matches what the Bucs did with the Chargers earlier this year.

Can this team put a full game together?  Forget about that for a moment, Joe’s in too good of a mood.

But at halftime, Joe was utterly furious. Maybe the maddest he’s been since launching this website. You should have seen the two stories Joe wrote at halftime. You will, but they will be cleaned up.

The Bucs demonstrated what a playoff team cannot do in January and what a playoff team does in January, all in one game.

The Bucs were fully horrible in the first half. In the second half, they looked like a team that will make a serious run to the Super Bowl in the second half.

Offense, defense, special teams. You name it. The Bucs were kicking tail and taking names in the final 30 minutes.

Tom Brady is absolutely in the head of the Dixie Chicks. Sixty years from today when these Dixie Chicks will be in nursing homes, they will be drooling on themselves mumbling for no apparent reason about Brady.

Man, oh Manischewitz, what a wild game.

The second half comeback by the Bucs, where they put up 31 points, almost erased from Joe’s memory what a horsesh!t first half the Bucs played. It’s hard to believe, but damn, that offense in the second half, isn’t that what we’ve been waiting on since the win over the Packers?

That offense looked virtually unstoppable.

By all accounts, the Bucs should have lost. They were atrocious in the first half and had no business winning that game.

Good job Bucs for not giving up and playing with a purpose and energy to start the third quarter.

Now try that in the first quarter sometime, eh?

Matty Ice… biggest choke artist in NFL history.

  2. Alaskabuc Says:

    Well said Joe

  3. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

If we make the playoffs, does Bruce Arians get his third Coach of the Year?

  4. geno711 Says:

Brady was really amazing. Behind that much in the game.
Starting left tackle out and the back up, Josh Wells, certainly had some issues.

Brady another Buc record today. Most passing yards, 390, for a quarterback in Bucs history without throwing an interception.

  5. ModHairKen Says:

    The game is 60 minutes.

  6. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Defense is doing well without Vea too.

  7. Tamoabaybucfan Says:

It’s a mixed bag…..Bucs didn’t pay a price for their poor start…..but showed themselves that they can come back…..

Anyway, I don’t know anyone who wouldn’t be happy with the final outcome no matter how we got there.

  8. ModHairKen Says:

They won without turnovers. The second half passing game was as good as ever before in this long, tortured franchise history.

AB, long pass, TD. Two demons slayed. Yes, TB can throw deep. Yes, AB was a good addition.

  9. bojim Says:

    Too close. SMB sucks.

  10. Gary Vorbeck Says:

    Man, oh Manischewitz,

    Classic

  11. Thomas51 Says:

One of the worst first halves I’ve ever seen.
One of the best 2nd halves I’ve ever seen.
    Go Bucs!!

  12. Buczilla Says:

I was beyond p!ssed at halftime too Joes, but I’m happy as can be now. What a weird f’ing team we have. LOL 😜

  13. BucfaninMi Says:

This team is killing me over here!😁

  14. Mike Johnson Says:

Bucs will not be afforded the luxury of a comeback against the good teams in the NFl nor in the Playoffs. Really concerned about the super slow starts. But it was ATL ard we will take it.

  15. SlyPirate Says:

    White was a beast

  16. Pete Says:

    Well said, Joe!
I was so fed up at half time.
    Delighted, but, still wary now!
    Merry Christmas!!!

  17. sincethebeginning Says:

Lot of praise to pass around for that 2nd half effort, but for me it’s especially props to Fournette for stepping up and being effective when we needed him to be!

  18. Rashad Says:

Kudos to Fournette. He picked up some heat from Neal and others.

  19. geno711 Says:

Nice to also see the lots of the younger guys on the Bucs defense make plays in the 4th quarter. Winfield, White and Dean I think all made big plays in the 4th.

  20. Im tired and 87 is right Says:

The Bucs should seriously evaluate the reason they have been able to be so dominant in the second half yet inept the first. It’s clear to me we need to start playing to win like we are always behind. Quit playing scared like we aren’t aloud to be great. Yes we are talented so straight up dominate. It’s ok to do that. Defense blitz from the get go and yes plays will happen but that’s ok because we will also make plays. It’s the season to be jolly and merry! Time to accept we can be damn good and play to that. No second guessing from here on out. Go Bucs!

  21. Rod Munch Says:

SlyPirate – White was great, totally faked out their RB on the two sacks. Why they just sit in that no pressure soft zone defense makes no sense when they’re so productive when they bring at least one guy, and generally do even better when they bring more than one.

  22. Bucsfan951 Says:

Bucs will be 1 and done with games like this. I’m happy for the win but pissed how it all went down. Bucs CANNOT start games like they have been. Now, let’s get to 11!

  23. Swampbuc Says:

Hey Joes — I would love to see the uncleaned up version of those two articles you wrote when you were pissed off at halftime!

  24. HeyItsAdam Says:

    Joe…..

PLEASE release the unedited first half story as a novelty.

    PLEASE.

  25. TampaTown Says:

Joe really put it perfectly into words

  26. jo_mama Says:

Go back and read the open thread comments from beginning to the end.

As a patriots fan living in Tampa I am baffled at the amount of idiots on here. You have the greatest QB to ever play the game who is just a great player to watch and root for and yet you crap all over him for any negative play.

Pats fans did not give up in the super bowl against Atlanta or Seattle.

    Learn from history

  27. JimmyJack Says:

    What an amazing comeback!!!
That was a very special win for me. We destroyed ATL in the 2nd Half.

  28. james west Says:

atlanta down their best receiver if julio would have been in we don’t catch em simple as that, and if we do make playoffs, and we get down to a good team, game over, i have no confidence in our secondary, were missing vea big time, and brady is struggling with consistency in first halves of the games, running the ball big problem rojo hit and miss, and when he’s out, oh boy good luck chuck, welcome to the grand illusion come on in and see what’s happening, pay the price get the ticket to the show

  29. TampaTown Says:

Are we getting lectured by Patriots fans?

  30. Joe Says:

    jo_mama:

You have no idea how beaten down Bucs fans are with all the losing since this franchise fired Chucky. Bucs fans have PTSD (Joe included). And little thing wrong and we expect the worst because that has been the norm through the Lost Decade.

    It’s like battered wife syndrome.

  31. Rico 210 Says:

Yes Joe please release the unedited piece. I’m dying over here lol. 1st half had me sick. Need to know how you felt too.
    Go Bucs

  32. Pewter Power Says:

Yes the problem is most all teams in the nfl look unstoppable against the Falcons. Happy with the win but I expect absolutely nothing from this team in the playoffs. My expectations are set so I don’t have a stroke during their first playoff game I expect so see what I saw almost every game this season. A bad half and a good enough half just not good enough to win in the playoffs

  33. DBS Says:

Yes the firs half was disgusting. As usual the defense lets the other team march right down the field. and the offense can’t get fired up. Why is this a constant? But in the 2nd half a switch is turned on? I would like to see the explanation.

  34. BucsFanFromSaintsLand Says:

    SMB needs to be benched

  35. Christos Says:

Enough is enough. Coaches must get their head out of their a***** and gameplan and coach better. The team goes into the games unprepared or illprepared. Its like the same stuff each week, no specific gameplan against the opponent. The last few weeks opponents offences are abandoning the running game, aside from Vikings, and throwing the ball all over the place and the defence is adjusting only in 2nd half. Coach and gameplan NEEDS CHANGES. Go Bucs

  36. orlbucfan Says:

It was nice to hear Methusaleh Brady figure out he had more targets than just Gronkowski and Brown in the second half. ME13, CG14 and C Brate. Morris may have won the HC job cos Jones was out and Falcons almost won this one. I hope Bucs find a young decent QB next year. Can’t complain about 9-5 but SB contenders Bucs ain’t.

  37. Frank Pillow Says:

    Dear Santa,

Thank you for keeping Julio on the sidelines otherwise, Sean, Jemel, Ross and Carlton would’ve been like little chestnuts roasting on his open fire. I promise I will keep playing zone and rushing four for the rest of the season…just like opposing OCs like it.
