Arians Clarifies Fuzzy Bucs Statement On Antonio Brown

November 19th, 2020

Bucco Bruce Arians.

Clarity has emerged regarding the Buccaneers’ approach to the bike-hurling, camera-crunching hijinks of Antonio Brown at his South Florida living complex just days before he was welcomed by Tampa Bay officials with open arms.

Bucco Bruce Arians was asked about the Del Boca Vista-like dustup between Brown and his Hollywood homeowners association that, per the Miami Herald, led to Brown acting in an un-neighborly fashion and drawing the eyes of NFL conduct investigators who abhor violent behavior.

The Buccaneers issued an official comment a matter of hours after the Miami Herald story emerged on Monday. But the statement revealed nothing about whether the Bucs knew before they signed Brown that he had a meltdown roughly a week prior. “We are aware of the reported incident involving Antonio Brown prior to his signing. When Antonio joined us, we were clear about what we expected and required of him. Thus far, he has met all the expectations we have in place,” the statement said.

However, today, Arians confirmed he and Bucs officials were aware of Brown’s mess before they signed him. “Like the statement said, we were totally aware,” Arians said.

This is interesting on a couple of fronts. First, the statement didn’t say anything about when the Bucs knew of Brown’s Oct. 15 freakout. So had Arians read a different statement? Second, Arians did not deny Brown went bananas, and he didn’t offer anything to refute the Herald’s many claims.

Pressed to say how he knew Brown was a changed man when he signed him a week after an angry outburst, Arians shut down the line of questioning. “I think we’ve had enough conversations about that. Thank you.”

Joe feels a little badly for Arians in this situation. Yeah, he’s the head coach and he’s in charge of who sees the field and Brown wouldn’t be here without Arians’ blessing. But Arians is still a 68-year-old guy who’s busted his ass to build a great reputation and groom coaches and players for decades, and here he is dealing with embarassing nonsense.

  1. Buczilla Says:

Brown is here because he is one hell of a football player and I believe that he will be cut if he acts out while officially being a Buc. Brown has already contributed despite not playing since last year and if he continues to improve, any blemishes that Arians has now will quickly fade away. Zero chance that I would guarantee him big $ next year, but I’m cool with keeping him this year until he goes bonkers again.

  2. PSL Bob Says:

“…and here he is dealing with embarrassing nonsense.” I don’t feel sorry for Arians in the least. I’m sure if he’d put his foot down and said we don’t need this clown in our locker room, and I don’t want him here, Licht, the Glazers and whoever else was involved in the decision would have listened. Brady wanted him, Arians relented, and now he’s here. Can’t really feel sorry for Arians about this. Hope it all works out, but felt it was a bad decision from the beginning!

  3. DoooshLaRue Says:

This situation means nothing to me.
I thought the signing was unnecessary even with our injuries.
We have a lot of talent at WR.

    Tommy got what he wanted.

I agree with Buczilla on AB.

  5. DBS Says:

Right now he is here and as far as we know giving the team 100%. If he screws up he will be gone.

You belong with your teeth knocked out of your face, scumbag

  7. Robert Says:

I think BA handled it well.stfu and move past it. anyone who’s dealt with hoa’s has wanted to let them have it at one time or another. complete a holes, typically run by people with nothing better to do and karen’s

and some paul blart not letting a friend in would be the icing on the cake. I keep my cool, but I couldn’t say I would not lose it if I was accustomed to the type of top shelf treatment AB is.

    non story imo,

  8. Capt.Tim Says:

Its just a matter of time, before Antonio Brown screws up, and gets dumped.

    Hopefully, Tyler keeps progressing

the_end is clearly an internet troll, saying outlandish things simply to get off on the reactions of others. Your frustration only makes them happier.

  10. TampaTown Says:

Umm… why is someone like Antonio Brown living somewhere that he has to answer to the HOA? I wonder if his bushes are trimmed and his mailbox is the right height.

One things for sure, I’m not bringing in Tony Robbins to my church to speak to my congregation. Nor will he be here counseling anyone either. Not sure if Brady or Brown flipped the bill, but somebody got ripped off

My self awareness is a point of pride.

  24. Memphis Buc fan Says:

    Thanks Joe!!!

  25. Infomeplease Says:

The way I see it, Brown is a Buc for two good reasons. First, he is one hell of a football player! Second you don’t want this guy playing against you in January…you don’t want him playing for the Saints, Packers, or Seahawks.

  26. Roadwarrior Says:

Just the media stirrings things up

  27. Jerk04 Says:

Man I’m pissed I missed what the end said cause it seemed to get a reaction. I know I can’t se rot anymore but I’ve never seen so many people in full agreement on somebody getting run except pup

  28. Allbuccedup Says:

Cant feel sorry for him at all. He said earlier this year he doesnt want that distraction in the locker room so what did he expect. Its like whatever Brady says goes. Might as well have Brady as coach and GM also save the franchise money. Think he was after Belicheats job, apparently thats why Belicheat said ByeBye you never know.

  29. Morgus the Magnificent Says:

It’s gone now, but I’m wondering what the he!! The End said????

And ARB should be gone. “Until he goes bonkers again” is a “when” not “if”….

Leave the man alone.Brown needs to understand that opportunities are few and in between he needs to check himself and understand that everyone that pats him on the back don’t have his best interest at heart.Get yourself together Brown make the money invest it wisely and move on.

  33. Ericb Says:

They are trying to bring AB down again yeah of course he flew off the handle but why now????
