“Why The Bucs Weren’t Running His Plays Earlier In The Season, I’m Not Sure.”

October 26th, 2020

Peyton Manning seems to know who carries a giant and powerful stick at One Buc Palace.

The legendary quarterback works with ESPN and NFL Films doing all kinds of breakdowns behind a paywall.

Shared on Twitter this morning was Manning looking at a Tom Brady touchdown pass against the Packers, when Brady fielded a bad snap in the shotgun and progressed through his reads to find rookie receiver Tyler Johnson.

Manning broke it all down like only he could and made it clear that Brady had such precision because it was in his comfort zone — the one he had with the Belicheats.

“He’s run it since 2000, when he was drafted. He knows the play. Why the Bucs weren’t running his plays earlier in the season. I’m not sure,” Manning said.

Manning went on to sarcastically claim the Bucs and Brady made a deal with the South Tampa guy whose house Brady entered without permission this spring. The deal was the dude could call Bucs plays against the Saints and Panthers in exchange for not pressing charges.

Fun stuff.

Joe doesn’t care who takes credit for plays. Just keep scoring, baby.

Glad to hear this. Running that no risk it no biscuit seems utterly ridiculous with Brady and it was interceptions all over the place. Didn’t matter the Qb either

  2. gotbbucs Says:

    He’s exactly right.

    NOODLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  4. AlabamaBucsFan Says:

Patriots Oline has always been above average. Part of the reason is the short underneath plays Brady would throw to his TE and RBs.

These long developing plays BA likes to run puts more pressure on the OL and risk turnovers. Glad the Bucs are running more Brady type of offense. Also like how we pound the run game on first down of most sets. This just wears out the defense by the time 4th quarter comes.

If you have a noodle dilema Anthem, perhaps you should see your urologist.

  6. SlyPirate Says:

No complaints from me. This team is hot and getting better each week.

  7. geno711 Says:

    Nice stuff from Peyton.

  8. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Well, remember all those years of people saying any QB could have succeeded in Belichick’s system? That Brady was a system QB and would never succeed without Bill?

Guess the truth is out now.

Brady has 4 picks on the year. Considering there are QBs with more than double that, I would hadly say interceptions are all over the place.

    Anthem…you’re blind and an idiot.

  12. August 1976 Buc Says:

Bad news for the League, VINTAGE GOAT, they were also running plays from shotgun yesterday. BA has not been doing that. Just let Tom run plays he is comfortable with, and keep his jersey clean, and the Bucs will represent the NFC in the Super Bowl! GO BUCS!!!

  13. pewter941 Says:

Steven A Smith undressed Kellerman today for his Brady takes.

  14. SlyPirate Says:

    Bucs’ Chances of Making Playoffs:
    5-2 – 75%
    6-2 – 81% (Giants)
    7-2 – 90% (Saints)
    8-2 – 96% (Panthers)

It would be amazing to get to 8-2 before playing LAR and KC.

  15. Boston Boy Says:

Peyton is always good foe a laugh. Even when he is telling the truth… sort of

  16. Architek Says:

    1987,
Isn’t it funny how some so called Bucs fans find something to complain about and we are freaking a contender????

Noodle arm? And he’s freaking throwing the ball around like an elite QB?

  17. Youngbucs Says:

This is BA offense people just need a talking point watch the all 22!!!!

  18. Youngbucs Says:

Cherry-pick a couple of plays we all knew this!!!!

  19. Bucsalltheway Says:

Well duh…this whole season has been mixed bags of patriot like plays..its working so dont fix it…just had me13 numbers. Hopefully brown is here to give him 1 on 1’s more. Real fans know what’s up #gobucs

  20. Youngbucs Says:

Seriously if people are paying attention BA spoke about that play. He said he’s been running that play for years but never had a QB hit the 4th read before. I hate media narratives!!!! All playbooks are the same but with different terminology!

  21. anthony Says:

Pretty sure BA mentioned that this play has been in his own playbook for 10 years – “never made it to the 4th read”. The play doesn’t sound exclusive to Brady.

  22. orlbucfan Says:

My problem with Methuselah ain’t his noodle arm. It’s his age. One good solid hit will not him beyond Cedar Key.

  23. orlbucfan Says:

IPads suck. Their edit function blows goats. It’s knock him beyond Cedar Key.

  24. Hodad Says:

Great break down by Manning. Guy’s a classic.

  25. DavidBigBucsFan99 Says:

Arians had to change this offense or Brady would get killed behind that line from last year. That’s the problem I have with the people who claim Winston held onto the ball too long and that’s why he was sacked so much. It was built into this no risk it no biscuit offense. Arians required him to do it to look for the deeper reads most which feed into his gunslinger mentality. You all refuse to realize that Winston was actually the perfect qb IF only he was more careful with the ball. He had the arm strength and mobility which he used to escape many more sacks because he could’ve been sacked 90 times as bad as this line was at times. If he had cut his ints in half he would still be here.

  26. DavidBigBucsFan99 Says:

    Glad he didn’t though

  27. Sorryjackchuckiesback Says:

This is bull!! I am sure a lot of what Brady is doing is what he told them he is comfortable with… But this is Arians and BL offense and if you go back to the giant game last year they ran the same exact play and it was incomplete pass in the corner of the end zone….. This is a jealous Manning (Manning is NOT some great guy they make him out to be) trying to prove that Tom is in fact a system QB and that he’s only just now having success because they “FINALLY” let him call his own plays!!… Manning is fake and he was charged with battery or sexual misconduct or something like that too entering the league!! And at that time it was pretty accepted that he was guilty!!! He’s a fake jealous liar!! They have come together on making this offense but it’s far from a Patriots play that Tom can actually make!! That’s ridiculous!!

  28. D1 Says:

David you’re right about Winston’s skill set fitting into Arians scheme. I point to the comments made by BA himself when He was hired about Winston.

The problem was BA couldn’t coach the INT’s out of winston. And based on his comments after the season He changed his opinion of winston 180 degrees. In the world of coaching, that dramatically different opinion of a player is telling of bigger issues.

  29. Colin in Canada Says:

In BA’s presser he said that this play was the 4th or 5th read and hes been running it for years and never saw them throw the last read. Therefore, this may be a play that Brady has run for years but it is also a play in BA’s offence.

Football is football most teams run similar passing concepts. They may call them different play names but the plays are the same. Not trying to take away from Peyton but for this specific play im 100% sure that BA made a reference to this and that they have been running it for years.

  30. Colin in Canada Says:

    Anthony you are correct

  31. lambchop Says:

If you’re complaining about a noodle arm or age at this point, you’re an imbecile or JW homer. The guy has thrown long, darts, and taken hits. He’s not any less durable than any other QB. Oh, and he knows how to win while taking care of his body.

If you’re butt hurt that he’s our QB, get some preparation H.
