Antonio Brown’s Contract Incentives

October 25th, 2020

ESPN has the report this morning, and it doesn’t include money for mental health counseling appointments.

Per Adam Schefter, the Bucs will pad Antonio Brown’s $1 million minimalist Buccaneers contract with incentives for personal performance and team hardware. “Bonuses: — $750K for a Super Bowl win — $250K for receptions — $250K for yards — $250K for TDs.”

Nah, no way Brown bitches about getting the football. No reason to do that.

The good thing about the Bucs paying Brown so little is they still have money to sign more veteran help for a Super Bowl drive. Remember, Ali Marpet’s contract restructure last week cleared more than $4 million to be used this season.

The trade deadline is in nine days.

Joe just hopes Brown isn’t upset by earning so little money by NFL standards for a future Hall of Famer. Remember what happened to the Bucs free agent who didn’t think he was earning enough to cover Brown. The dude’s destructive attitude was a festering sore for the organization.

Its not about the money….this is AWESOME!!!!

    Welcome aboard AB!!!

They’ll cut him the first moment he starts his bs. The standard is set in that locker room, the contract is structured where he has ZERO leverage, there’s no special treatment where he arrives by helicopter……he will conform or he’ll be out. And by out….it will be out of the league.

With all that being said…..I personally believe Brown has a chemical imbalance similar to Brandon Marshall years back. Once Marshall got on meds and understood his issue, he had a very productive career with no issues. Hopefully Brown can find a similar solution.

Damn you would think more fans would be happy with this kind of move. For years we would plead for more help. Now we get it and y’all bitching? Trying to win a SB over here. I like the signing. Keep boosting the roster.
    Go Bucs

He’s already made a King’s ransom and money “shouldn’t” really be a consideration. Even if it is he views this year as an investment safe in the belief that he can cash in next year if not with the Bucs then somewhere else.

We keep viewing this from the Buc’s perspective and our relief that no major financial long term commitments are involved. However AB has the same view on his side. He balls out this year…keeps his nose clean…and he can always cash in next year…if not with the Bucs plenty of other teams that lack ME and CG level tandems.

    BTW

The more you think about it from AB’s side of things this is really a win win.

AB doesn’t even have to put his body on the line for more than a half year and playoffs…three months…90 days to chill out off the field and build a rep as a great guy in the locker room.

AB’s guru’s can simply point out..90 days AB! Give them everything you have for 90 days and let the rest take care of itself. In a Covid world he has to hunker down anyway.

Which prompts a stupid question. Is the Mons even open these days?

  8. bojim Says:

madmax you kidding? He’s gonna demand the ball.

Damn if Mons is open AB might have part ownership in 90 days.
I loved that place when I lived in Tampa.

@bojim….was that response meant for someone else? am I missing something? you missing something? lol I simply welcomed him to the team and said its awesome he signed for so little….but yeah, he will want the ball, I agree, and he’ll get his shares.
